The listing: http://www.ebay.com/itm/232463445460
Maybe a ski badge holder?
Not sure what to make of that. Since it is in the picture area, I would think it is supposed to be a signature, but like the others, it is not in any modern script.

My guess is the script is fake, attempting to look like ancient Chinese characters known as “oracle bone” script.
Clothing, hair styles, furniture all look Chinese. Other than that, I’m not sure how to describe.

But no Japanese hiragana or katakana as described in the link above. (I studied Japanese) Also the second character does not appear in my Japanese character dictionary. Seems strange to me that Japan would use a camel logo since there are no camels in Japan, while Bactrian camel are native to the central Asian steppes. So I’m inclined to go with Chinese. The first character means service, duty, etc.
Even though the colors of their clothing are different, the pose of the figures suggest that they are based on Thomas Gainsborough’s paintings Blue Boy and Pinkie.

I decided to put store on vacation mode AND changed the handling time to 3 days. I know that Ryanne says she messages buyers to make sure they realize that shipping will be delayed, but I didn’t have phone reception, so I think having the vacation mode banner on my listings saved me that step. I did think it might discourage sales, but when I got home I had 5 items to ship. Small store, only about 215 items, so that was a normal number of sales – actually maybe above normal for summer.

Ebay website says I have the choice to cancel or send an invoice. Thinking about it more, it is likely that Luxembourg doesn’t have its own separate ebay website due to the size of the country, and he may have purchased from Germany or France’s website. I ended up sending the buyer an invoice, but the shipping charges are almost as much as the item itself, so I’m waiting to see if they actually pay it.
I didn’t have a lot of time to shop, but the items that caught my eye were all too high priced for an ebay flip. I did buy a dress for myself, though, for $9.99. Prices were similar to Portland prices, unfortunately.
The exterior.

The calligraphy is rather stylized, but I’m fairly certain those are the characters. Also I do see that type of crackled glaze a lot in Japanese ceramics, and would agree that it is intentional.
I agree that it could be Scandinavian. It reminds me of Figgjo of Norway dishware.
I went to this sale today! I have to say the pricing on a lot of things was not great. I tried to avoid the huge weekend crowds by going today, Monday, but still waited 2 hours (in the rain) just to get in and another long line to check out. I really don’t think they are going to get close to emptying that warehouse unless they slash prices near the end. I purchased a couple vintage California pottery pieces, a NWT Torrid dress, a necklace display for myself, etc. There was some cool artwork, signs, lamps, and furniture (mostly chairs) but mainly too big and heavy for me to want to deal with. If I needed to furnish a house, I would have bought some things for sure. There were tons of clothes, but prices were same or more than Goodwill, and many of the items came from Goodwill to begin with, some still had their goodwill prices on them.
