I have been having a problem with it for a few weeks. What a pain!! Wish we could send eBay a message without calling.
I had a low ball offer (less than 20% of asking price) a few weeks ago. The buyer stated with the offer “take it or leave it”. I thought that was pretty rude but some people. I countered with a 10% decrease in the original price. He declined but at least I tried.
ALWAYS try by countering. The worse thing they can do is say no.
Hey Picking Pair,
I have found my local Staples carries very little inventory. On-line they have it all. I would try the web page if your local store is out. You have to order a certain dollar amount to get free shipping so you may want to stock up.When I sent them an email they said they were discontinuing most of their large boxes. I found another source for boxes because of this. I have found Staples.com has the cheapest price for boxes. I now order all my boxes from them. They are even cheaper than eBay itself.
I had ordered boxes from another seller who was the cheapest on Amazon. They drop shipped them from Staples. So I decide to cut out the middleman. To get free shipping I think you have to order $50.
I was also intrigued by that. What a great way to sell the smalls that are sitting around. Anybody every try this? Is it better to do auction or fixed price? Free shipping or not? Price high or low?
So many questions.
03/12/2018 at 8:03 am in reply to: Do you save on fees with multiple stores? Or better to stick with one? #34824I agree with Sharyn. The breakeven is 3400 items. As a reference I started my Premium store in Oct 2016. As of today I have 2318 listings. I figure it will be fall to early winter before I get to the 3400 listings. Then I will make the switch.
Even when eBay offered the first month free on the Anchor store it didn’t make sense for me.
As for 2 stores or more… Seems like a hassle I don’t want to deal with in my life. Trying to maintain that perfect balance of 1000 in each store.
I have always wanted to ask Jay and Ryanne why they have 2 stores. Seems like they are spending an extra $59.95 each month. They have the Anchor store with 10,000 free listings and are only using around 6,000. Why not put all the second store items in the Anchor store. They are still free and you don’t pay for the Premium store.
I put where I bought it and for how much on every listing. I set up my own code and wrote it down as reference. After awhile I had it memorized. It’s not high tech but it would be pretty hard to crack. It is easy… 2 letters for location and 2 numbers for price. I use a symbol for a decimal point and no symbol for dollars. I have been asked a few times what it meant by potential buyers. I just said it was an inventory location.
I haven’t incorporated date but maybe I should. Would be nice to see how quickly it has moved. Back to the drawing board!!
Great find!! Think of it this way. If you sell them for a buck apiece you made $6. At $10 each you have made $1000.
This is a home run buy.
Nice and I wish I found it first.
I just wrote about this on another topic. I have a Samsung S8. For a few months I had the latest version of the mobile app with the latest interface. Then one day I have the older interface. Yet my phone says I still have the latest version of the mobile app. I have uninstalled and reinstalled multiple times.
I called eBay but they were no help. Said they would file the issue.
The older app interface is really a time consumer. I loved how the newer one would let you take 12 pictures then crop them. The older version cropping has to be completed before you take the next picture.
Also when entering item specifics you can not search and enter your own is at the bottom. This stinks for books. The year starts at 1620 or so. You have to scroll through all of that before you get to the 1900s. Same with authors. Enter your own is at the bottom.
Sorry for the rambling but has anyone else been “de upgraded”
My wife and I have had a problem with the mobile app. We are both on the latest version. Then the interface went back to the old version. Yet our phones say we have the newest version??
I called eBay and no help. She said they would file the strange goings on.
We have uninstalled and reinstalled multiple times. Did not realize how much I use the mobile app and how much I liked the newest version.
Anyone else go from the newest interface back to an older interface??
The actual limit without insurance for Priority is $100. I file mine through the USPS site. I usually get the check within a week. Just sent a piece of pottery to California. Arrived in pieces. Cost was $49.99, Postage was $23.15. I got a check for $73.14.
One time I had a stereo that they dropped. It was a $150 total price. I got a check for $100 which I could appeal but I read the limit was $100. Luckily I only had $5 in the stereo and made around $40 after the postage.
This refund process seems to be the only branch of the US Gov’t that is efficient!!
01/10/2018 at 6:53 pm in reply to: Pick my Poison! (Poll for choosing what dreaded death pile items to work) #30277I agree with a mix. I pick about 10 to 15 things from my death piles each day. I need to list these before I can move on. Slowly but surely the piles are going down.
My problem is listing the items that are in the $15 range. I debate with myself should I list or donate. Many sell but I want to try to list higher priced items. It takes the same amount of time to list a $15 item as a $100 item. These low priced death piles are killing me. Do I sell or do I donate. Do I combine two items or a bigger lot. I am definitely changing my buying habits. No more smalls!!
I think I am going to hold on to my coupon for a month or two also. Maybe eBay will have a change of heart!! Worse case I will buy more tape.
I did find a boxes on Amazon from The Boxery 25-12x12x12 for $25 and 25-10x10x10 for $17.50 free shipping (could be because we are Prime). I was paying $23.08 for the 12x12x12 and $19.42 for the 10x10x10. So same price. Only no eBay coupon accepted on Amazon…
12x12x12 are great for dinner plates which I sell lots of. eBay said the sizes where the least popular. I need to find a new source. eBay went from a great source for boxes to bad overnight. I am going to be hard pressed to spend my coupon. How much tape or mailers can you use? Stickers??? Please
Time to adapt.
Within 30 seconds of submitting I got a response from eBay. They have discontinued the 12x12x12 and 10x10x10
Ugh!!
Love those intermediate size boxes. -
