Oh, so this is more like scientific equipment than stereo, right? I see some reference to Gould being used at NASA.
Good show. Haven’t started reconciling my taxes yet. Based on everyone’s comments, I’m thankful eBay waited to switch me to managed payments after the new year.
I also had a REALLY slow week this past week. Lowest week since last May. No significant sales over the weekend, which was strange as that is when I usually get the bulk of my sales. Perhaps part of it was that my store was on “away” for most of the week. Good thing was that most of the items sold were very long tail and most were free to me.
Had a great yard sale run this weekend. Came across one of those that the seller just slapped prices that scream “just get this out of my house”. A Bear compound bow for $5, a vintage Dog Town skateboard for $15 plus several other low dollar items. Then hit an estate sale that was reasonably priced for a change.

New items listed: 1@doublythumbs – That sucks about the item not working. I think a lot of places do that. I’m beginning to think that “Not Tested” means not working. I have several stereo components sitting in my death pile that I purchased at auctions like this. Is it something you can part out or is it too obscure? Good luck.
This is more of a hack, but has worked well for me for the past several years. If you turn on location tracking on your android phone (not sure if it works for iPhone) it will record every trip you make passively. It has a fairly high level of accuracy and I don’t have to remember to record every trip. If you’re disciplined you could go in once a week or month while things are still fresh in your mind, but I usually go through it when I’m doing my taxes. I create a quick spreadsheet and enter date and location/business, just in case I get audited.
Here’s a screen shot of a trip looks looks like:
Thanks for the show. I’m on the edge of my seat waiting to hear how it goes with the store opening. Very interested also to hear how the change of priorities works out for you. After so long of the ultimate job for flexibility, having a schedule again will be a big change.
We went away for the week and used the Time Away feature for the first time. Seems to work great and it was very nice not having to go into each policy and modify shipping times. Took my kids to the beach in Wildwood, NJ. Between the cold weather and the virus, I’ve never seen a beach town so deserted. Still, it was nice to get away. Hit a few thrift stores in the area but it was poor pickings.
Sales were low, but about average for this time of year for me. Funny that with all things considered, we’re running 3% below what we did by this time last year.

New items listed: 12@retro-treasures-wv – Exactly how I feel. Sourcing for eBay feeds that need to acquire new stuff and gives that Zen satisfaction of also letting it go. I just don’t have that same need to buy stuff for myself that I used to have before. Kids definitely help with that motivation.
I would think that storing them in the filing cabinet would be your best option. Buy some file folders on ebay (people sell them cheap since everyone is getting rid of the cabinets) and sort them alphabetically. It is an efficient system as long as you label the folders well. IS there a reason you don’t want to keep it in the cabinets?
Well, I found the whole movie available on YouTube, only 16 minutes. The only resemblance to anything in the movie is the head of Satan. Also, she was just a bit player in that movie, not even credited originally. Still worth mentioning in the description. Like you said, some movie buff will set me straight.
The synopsis sounds about right. Funny that I can’t find pictures that match what these are and only a few from the actual movie. The head of the devil matches very closely though, almost as if these were early scenes that didn’t make it into the movie. Pretty risque for the time. Are you a movie buff? Thanks for the assist.

I personally don’t think it’s possible to have enough research books. As good as the Internet can be, it is shallow and not very deep in many aspects when it comes to the types of things we find. On further search I found a few copies here for around $20, so I’ll be adding this one.

Here in the Washington region I come across so many old prints and it is always a struggle to decide whether they are just old, or really old. I have some interesting engravings that are marked 1798 and I struggle with whether they are later reprints or originals that were well cared for.

03/27/2021 at 5:39 pm in reply to: Thoughts on selling mint condition 1838 Queen’s Coronation Newspaper #87045Thanks for the feedback. It feels like I’m on the right track. This afternoon I submitted it to two auction houses for appraisal, on the off chance that it is worth much more. I doubt I would sell it with one, however, having done this before and not gotten even what they estimated, not to mention the 30+% selling fees. It has sat in the box I received it in for years, it can wait a few more weeks.
