Hi, Nancy. whereabouts in Wisconsin? I am in the Milwaukee area, but travel to central Wisconsin often. Have you been to the Goodwill Outlet in the Appleton area yet? I want to take a day trip there one of these days!
I have shipped out four or five blow molds this season and shipped them. Depending on the size will depend on how costly it gets. Most of them, I bubble wrap them well and put them in the bottom of the eBay box I got with my $25 coupon…they are 18″ x 14″ x 12″. Once the bottom of the blow mold is at the bottom of this box, I placed another 18″ x 14″ x 12″ box over the top (you may have to manipulate the flaps and the edges for it to go over the same sized box. Then tape up the seams and you are ready to go. All of them (except one) went around $12-$15. The one that didn’t went by the dimensional weight and was over $50, so measure what you are going to use, pop the dimensions into your listing and the correct postage should come up for your buyer. Blow molds are great sellers!
Since this is my first year selling, I want to be consistent with future year’s spreadsheet, so I am going to change my costs of personal items to half of the sale price (I like consistency!) Now is the time for me to make those adjustments for upcoming years. Thanks for the great suggestions.

We built a pole barn this year, too, and I think our accountant said we take the deduction over a 17 year period because it is permanently attached to the foundation.
I, too, use a spreadsheet. I only have about 260 items in my store and only sell maybe 5 items a week, so right now, it’s easy. Date purchased, where it was purchased, purchase price, date sold, price sold, shipping cost paid, my shipping cost, eBay fees and PayPal fees. I will give it to our accountant when I give him all my tax stuff. I manually keep track of costs now, but if I start selling at a few items a day, instead of a week, I guess it would be harder to keep up with it.
