Sorry to hear about the bad year. Im sure its a longer story and hopefully you’ve grown form it.
We’re considering a partnership on a business with another couple.
–how did you legally enter into the partnership?
–What were the terms?
–what would you have done differently?
–how did you determine the $30k cash out?
–what should it have been in you mind?Dave! You found the right crew. Ryanne and I are also ruined from ever working for someone else again.
Can you share the story of starting a selling your photo studio?
–how long did you run it?
–why sell it?
–how much did you sell it for?#1: Don’t get sucked into someone’s drama. Her story is weird and sad, but has zero to do with you. I wouldn’t respond to this buyer. She just wants you a part of the craziness.
#2: There’s not a Paypal issue until there’s a Paypal issue. You can only solve issues that are real.
#3: Wait till the buyer opens an eBay case. Then call eBay and get it closed since you’ve done what you’ve been asked. Buyer has the right to return the item, but they pay all shipping.Get a good night’s sleep.
I’d say keep taking advantage of these new companies while they’re still being subsidized by venture capital. We’ll see how they do when they are forced to maintain a profitable business.
I remember when Etsy was still “easy and cheap”. But then they went pubic, raised their prices, and have all the normal rules and regulations that any logical business must maintain.
Thats very helpful. We see these jars all the time and always pass on them.
That’s super interesting. I wonder if buyers will ever revolt because they cant return items on Poshmark for fit. Unless prices are much lower on Poshmark where people are willing to take the chance.
Agreed. And these days, most people will just put this bowl on a shelf because its cool.
I agree that its annoying not being able to see the item I’ll be buying. Happens on Craigslist often when people post a stock photo of a couch, and get bothered when I ask for photos of the specific couch I want to purchase. Especially newer sellers dont understand you need to show all the faults and problems.
Unfortunately I dont think ebay would have no way to now whats a stock photo and whats not.
Great sales! I”m always amazed you buy these weird industrial machines that you cant test, and successfully sell and ship to people across the world. And the items must work as intended when they arrive.
We get hassle from buyers just selling older walkmans to the next state because it doesnt work as they expected.
Very very true. You’re still in one of the few places in the US that isn’t two hours from a fairly large urban area.
It’ll be interesting to see Poshmark’s staying power. I know its still a privately owned, venture capital business: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Poshmark
Why do you think people return so much on Amazon and eBay, but people dont return clothes on Poshmark? Its often tthe same exact sellers but on different platforms.
07/01/2020 at 12:32 pm in reply to: eBay international standard delivery VS Global Shipping Program #78966International standard delivery seems cheaper to the buyer, but buyers have to pay any extra fees on their end. Also you, the seller, don’t have the same protection that GSP gave.

I never understood some of the posts where that suggested adding “movie props” to the title. Set decorators just need what they need. Anything can be a prop. Just title appropriately so there are enough keywords to show up in search.
If a buyer is looking to target set designers, then study what “eras” or time periods future productions are working in. I think the 1950’s fad is over. The 1980s is slowing waning. What’s hot time period now?
Can I ask what category of item this is? Some categories definitely attract grumpy buyers.
Yes, it imports and saves everything including the photos.
