Okay, so someone had access to your Paypal account and tried to hide transactions by making it seem like shipping costs. Glad you caught it.
Is she just taking photos? Or also writing titles, item specifics, measurements and description?
So did someone hack your account? I’m not understanding what happened.
Yikes a skunk! That a pretty potent smell. It doesnt take much for the stink to linger. Your ozonator will really help.
Huh. Another seller posted here saying his buyer’s credit card company opened a dispute at Paypal, who automatically gave them a full refund without returning the item. Supposedly eBay and Paypal both said they couldn’t do anything about it.
I see you commented on the thread: https://www.scavengerlife.com/forums/topic/buyer-opened-case-with-credit-card/
These are both situations we’ve never run into it. Any time there’s been a dispute or issue, we’ve been able to call someone and get it solved. eBay’s “Hassle Free Return” system actually works quite well.
That is worrying if eBay doesn’t require the buyer to return the item to get a refund. As of now, it seems fair to always refund a buyer who returns the item. I am not cool with “amazon” returns where sellers are expected to refund immediately and eat the cost.
But we’ve been in Managed Payments for a month now and had buyers open up Return Request. It works like normal.
So what exact kind of case was this? Not a Return but a “payment dispute”?
Wonder how this will work with weird vintage items. Or if this is just for new, contemporary items in the catalogue:
The new badge called “Great Price” highlights items which are competitively priced amongst similar items from trusted sellers. We have seen an increase in buyer engagement with “Great Price” items that can help drive higher velocity for sellers. We are launching this feature on certain products that are high in demand, based on sales history, impressions and engagement.
The appearance or placement of the “Great Price” badge on listings will depend on a variety of factors, including but not limited to:
Listings from sellers that meet Above Standard or Top Rated seller status;
Listings with condition new and matched to a product in our catalog;
Competitively priced across similar listings on eBay;
Item’s price and shipping cost, listing format, terms of service, history and relevance to the user query; and
Buyer’s Search terms, browsing site.
“Great Price” is not a paid feature and the placement of listings in search results remains subject to Best Match factors. Promoted Listings remains a separate program. If a listing qualifies for both the Promoted Listing and “Great Price” programs, the listing will show both the “Great Price” and Promoted Listing badges.This company sells weird little gift items: https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p2303516.m570.l1313&_nkw=ss+sarna&_sacat=0

As long as the seller is transparent with the handling time, who cares if its 5 days, 15 days, or 30 days? This is an unfortunately choice by eBay. Nice idea but why so restrictive?
I’m confused by the story. So Paypal never contacted you and just gave the buyer a full refund without having to return the item? Paypal is absolutely involved because the money came out of your Paypal account.
Any time we’ve had an issue, the buyer has to return the item for a full refund. If we do nothing, then Paypal will just refund because we’re not giving the buyer a choice.

Amazing. That’s real money that’s not even counting your eBay sales.
09/10/2020 at 6:59 pm in reply to: The New Time Away Settings (Old “Vacation Settings”) – Woo hoo! #81462I’m very impressed eBay implemented this change. Its not a flashy or big money making feature, but it’s great for sellers to give more flexibility when you need to travel or be away for a couple days.
Estimated delivery dates and dispatch due times will be adjusted when Time Away is scheduled for active listings. This means your buyers will receive realistic estimated delivery dates automatically without you having to manually change the time yourself.
I hope this means we just set a time when we’ll be back and the system figures out the time delay. Currently, we had to change the handling time when we left for vacation and needed to keep changing the handling time as our vacation got closer to ending.
We sell on eBay so dont know the Etsy return policy.
–Does Etsy give you any power over a buyer who returns damaged goods?
