Its sad to see long time auction houses and flea markets disappear.
We always a hard NO on consignment. We arent even nice about it. No way no how!

Good point. We’re see what we can handle. I like the idea.
In 2019, we really slacked off of listing for a good 6+ months. Good news was our sales were pretty steady. But we definitely felt the drop off towards the end. As you get back to listing, sales always pick up.
HA! I’d be extremely surprised if a multi-millionaire NBA player was calling in about eBay 🙂
It’s an interesting idea to add outdoor items. Something to think about it. As big as we think the lace is, its also small once we get it filled out. Plus, the coffee shop will be next to an Outdoor Store so we’d have to make sure we’re not stepping on toes.
Welcome Hootie. Buying our time is the name of the game.
I also think its crewel stitching. A very cool design.
Glad you found us. I totally consign the idea of not letting old, unused stuff sit around. Just sell it and pay down debt, or buy something you’ll enjoy.
Almasty is the one who knows from experience how to thrift without owning a car.
In my mind, I’d be a lot more selective. Only scavenge what I could stuff in a backpack. Bike more. Public transport. Uber if needed (but this cuts into profit).
Or like you mentioned, fo o an auction every couple months. and rent a uhaul once every couple months. Eat on your haul for 60 days. Uhaul’s arent cheap so make sure you buy enough to make it worth the trip.
Anything is possible. Just have to do the numbers.
I can see $10k USD for an acre of good land. So at 5 acres, that’s be $50k USDÂ or $67k CAD.
I guess I just encourage you to be a scavenger when it comes to property as well. We’ve found good deals when we look for property that’s not “obvious” or might have some issues other people aren’t willing to deal with.
This year we bought a prime piece of property next to a lake only because I spent five years getting to know the land owner. Got a good deal but it took a lot of long conversations.
And yeah, raw land is almost always a cash deal. Banks wont touch it unless you are taking equity out of your home.
I’d be curious to know how many of those tubes are still good. I see boxes of them for sale often. Wonder if its worth buying a tester.
That is very weird. Never had this happen, but it sounds like something’s definitely wrong on eBay’s end.
First, I would check if eBay has the correct address.
–Does it actually have the apartment number? If so, its eBay fault. Call eBay and see what they say.
–If eBay does not have the apartment number, then it’s the buyer’s fault. Buyer should pay to reship. If they choose not to, refund the price of the item.
–Or you ship again to the correct address as a show of goodwill.
That fee could be a currency converter. So if the person paid in Rubles but you wanted USD.
