Yes, April 1 is when you can switch if I read correctly. So weird why eBay is doing this. Arent they going to lose a lot of money in subscription fees? It’ll save us $3200/yr.
For anchor subscriptions, its $100/month penalty to cancel early. Thankfully we renew on May 1 so we’re only out $100. Its a good really good deal.
So if the new FVF is 11.7%, what was the old percentage?
For many of us, we sell in the Collectible category. What was the FVF?
New change: 11.7% on total amount of the sale up to $2,500 calculated per item
2.35% on the portion of the sale over $2,500Ah, maybe that’s it. We always know there’s some thing that has chnages when a weird thing sells well.
Congrats on the promotion and the respect you received at work. It’s amazing to think a person could work at the same place for decades. You must have found a very stable place of work!
Whats the change of Final Value Fees?
Its interesting this year because some sellers dont claim eBay profits if they dont get the 1099. So because many of us are half Managed Payments and half Paypal, I bet there will be lot of “free income” this year.
At a certain selling level, I get why people don’t claim the income. I know we would not have gotten mortgages to buy property if we hadn’t claimed our eBay income each year to show we had consistent income.
And it looks like there will now be coded coupons you can create to send to potential buyers.
Am I reading this correct? eBay is upping the number of items you can list in each subscription level? https://pages.ebay.com/seller-center/seller-updates/2021-spring/financials.html
Starter :250 Auction + Fixed Price listings changes to No change
Basic: 350 Fixed Price listings changes to 1,000 Fixed Price listings
Premium 1,000 Fixed Price listings changes to 10,000 Fixed Price listings
Anchor: 10,000 Fixed Price listings changes to 25,000 Fixed Price listings
Enterprise: 100,000 Fixed Price listings changes to No ChangeThis starts April 1. So this means Premium will handle our level store. It essentially becomes an anchor store at the same cost!? That’s save us $150/month unless Im reading it wrong.
Do you see anything that’s an issue or good? Anything that will really change how we run our businesses?
I suppose you’re working side by side less now than you have been, so the podcast is almost your weekly team meetings…with a large audience.
This is very perceptive. I actually didn’t realize that this is exactly what we’re doing. Having a public business meeting! And being a couple, it can add to the stress.
Nice. That is a trend I’ve seen, though we don’t find many “nighties” where we scavenge.
I find that Depop and similar sites are really tied to your popularity on social media. If you dont have a presence and put time in to build an audience, listings are pretty quiet.
Maybe I’m confused. We received a 1099 from eBay (mangaed payments) where it shows our net income. Because there’s eBay takes out all fees before sending us payment, there’s nothing to deduct.
What fees are you trying to claim from Managed Payments?
You should be proud of the business you’ve built. We know that struggle in the early days of listing listing listing. Must feel nice.
This is really fascinating. Thanks for the inside scoop on how the card world works. Like the craziness around penny stocks right now, there seems to be a lot of “gambling” going on.
