I’m listing but having a “Is this thing on?” kind of week and holiday weekends are not usually good for me. Hope other scavengers are doing well!
@Julie thanks but I didn’t get anything done until after testing negative. Then I still had a few days of lazing around. But now I’ve had a couple days of decent listing. My sales are still poor, but this week should be good for listing. I too need to pay for some things so I’m hoping sales pick up soon.
08/28/2022 at 6:23 pm in reply to: Vtg Midcentury Modern Sascha Brastoff Art Pottery Free Form Plate #97478I know right? it’s so sad. I’ve had only a couple of claims with USPS but they have refunded in those instances. The buyer thought I packed it very well.
I just mention and photograph the crazing. I know this name is very collectible so would sell, but it did take a while so perhaps that is why. There are people looking for Midcentury items who aren’t serious collectors I think. I am still learning myself about how these things affect the value and have to guesstimate on the pricing. Probably many similar pieces do have crazing, and if that’s true then it would be expected even by a serious collector.
I finally got back to listing Friday and listed 18 items this week. As I wrote on my numbers post, I really need to kick myself into gear this coming week. I don’t normally watch tv but started a long series while sick with Covid and I’m almost done. Confessing that it’s been a distraction. Have a great week everyone.

Number of items listed this week: 18It was a very slow week of sales for me. Yarn is selling well and getting offers. I think it’s my favorite new thing to pick up. Last week my post disappeared but it was busier than I thought. I hardly ever have broken items or returns but I had one of each last week. Also hard to get motivated for me post-Covid even though school has started. Kind of just had the blahs. So, I really, really need to kick myself into gear and get listing this week. Today I have some good time to list. My sales are usually quite good in October and November.
@Temudgin hope your sales pick up. I like your photography, which is similar to my style. Scrolled through your store and I’m wondering if your buyers might be older and possibly more conservative (cautious) during this recession time? My sales with a similar size store and long listing gaps have been slow for vintage but good for my new items. I do wonder too if Ebay has made some tweaks to the algorithm that favor regular listing and fresh listings during the past few months.
08/25/2022 at 11:46 am in reply to: Heads up: Buyer was able to complete purchase for one-third the price. #97422@Sharon the sale went through at the low price but the item was still showing in the listing at the higher price.
normally I just ship it out and don’t pay attention ruin so I just wanted to see if maybe there was some kind of glitch going on.
08/25/2022 at 11:45 am in reply to: Heads up: Buyer was able to complete purchase for one-third the price. #97421@debits nope I had auto decline on for higher than he paid. Also did not say offer accepted.
clould have been a hacker because zero feedback. They made the same offer/counteroffer at my lowest offer price 3 times first. I can’t believe someone would bother but EBay couldn’t explain it. Also interesting that I canceled and blocked but no complaint or contact from the buyer.
Better from Covid but not feeling super energetic or enthused about listing. I only listed one item, the guidebook from my vacation. Need to get going for sure to catch the better season.

Number of items listed this week: 0These are numbers for last week while I had time away on. This week is completely dead but that was ok because I’m pretty sick with Covid, my Florida vacation souvenir. I was one of very few people wearing a mask indoors there on vacation, but it finally got me. I was hoping I was one of those rare people who didn’t get it but no.
School starts on Friday. I look forward to feeling better and growing my store. Looking forward to hearing about your secret project R&J.
Zero for me. Covid finally got me.
Zero for me. I’m in Florida returning from vacation.
I hope that I didn’t miss the thrifts putting out their Halloween. I don’t have much in my inventory because it sold super well last year. On a personal note it’s still my favorite holiday even though the kids are grown and we are in the right neighborhood but not the right street for trick or treaters. I’m hoping some of my older neighbors move on (but not pass on!).
Good luck with your move and house sale VT.
I stopped short of making featured categories since the pics are in my phone and hard to find. I guess I could just pull screenshots from the web but it was taking longer than I had. My banner is super simple but better than what was there before. The logo is cool and was easy. It looks better on mobile.
Fell off the wagon with only 4 listings. Thanks @Julie for responding.

Number of items listed this week: 4Fell down on the listing this week as we had family in town and hosted an event yesterday. Sales were ok considering and had a few yesterday. Leaving on vacation next week and will do time away. I look forward to seeing what I can do when school begins mid-August.
I don’t have the capital to do RA at the moment but it seems like in might be a good time for the right stuff. I was disappointed with the summer sale offerings from my high end RA favorites. It is interesting mixed messaging on the media re the recession. I also read about more people thifting in general for their own use, but I’ve only really noticed that with the college kids and clothes the times I’ve been out.
@Julie thanks for the info. eBay has been sending prompts for me to share certain listings. There seems no rhyme or reason to which they choose but I just comply (Pinterest).
Did he say or imply what effect stale listings have on sales?
