I have been listing my one big bin of Christmas so I need to get the last few of those items sold. I also have a couple more bulky items of my personal Halloween decor I’ve decided to let go of and list. Somewhere I have a small box of Thanksgiving stuff that I really need to look for again. Holiday is my priority though I ought to think about whether or not I have any giftworthy items lying around that are listed. Need to stay away from sourcing and list some things around here. I think I missed the Christmas stuff being put out anyway.

Number of items listed this week: ? not manyAs mentioned we were really ill last week. Finally feeling better today. Everyone consider getting your flu shot at least. Monday my dad came over and picked up my weekend packages because I wasn’t really even feeling well enough to drive. I only made offers on soft easy to pack stuff. Today I shipped out a bunch of larger items. Hope to get a lot of listing done next week.
There are some crazy viral bugs circulating right now folks – protect yourselves. Pretty much every virus that went dormant during Covid is back with a vengeance and all at the same time.
Um, yep. We are here in sunny California and just had the worst non-Covid virus. It was much like getting Covid 5 except the fatigue wasn’t there along with the long list of symptoms so you can just lie awake for all of it. My daughter tested negative for flu, so what’s up? Hope everyone else manages to avoid getting this stuff. Personally, I’m going back to mask wearing, though this one came from the high school.

Number of items listed this week: 13Thanks Sharon. Last week was ok but sales are slow for me now. It’s not a great time but I’ve kind of taken my foot off the gas a bit. Also was sourcing a little much before last week and I want to make sure to keep my listing ahead of my sourcing. My daughter is pretty sick this week so hoping she doesn’t start testing positive for Covid because that would be another set back. Gotta get my mojo back.
That’s cool. I love finding and selling vintage nautical items. It’s hit and miss here.
Enjoying my coffee order, thanks!
@Mark I’m not seeing this on Ebay labels. It might be because I’m on the coast but FedEx is still beating UPS routinely for me. However I don’t often have items over 3 pounds.

Sales were very bread and butter this week, however I picked this because was one of the items I think was helped along either by my 4% promoted listing or Pinterest. It sold super quickly. Someone paid full price. On Terapeak there are 8 solds in the last year, all lower than this. There are also 5/8 actives at the same or lower price, some with free shipping.
I have an interesting find this week. I haven’t actually bought one yet, but plan to soon and I’m bidding. I was cruising on Ebay for a niche that I like to buy in and discovered this incredible modern impressionist artist running .99 actions. I went to following him on Insta and there he was live doing a painting. He’s young, talented and promoting himself on social media and through these inexpensive auctions. https://www.ebay.com/str/jtrujillopaintings21
I’m no art expert but I know what I like and I can tell if something is well done. I like certain of his works better than others (the ones with more fine details and without people.) This guy already has quite a following and someone is already flipping his small works over on Mercari for $75. He’ll keep churning stuff out so I don’t plan to get rich but just may get what I like and display a couple here. @Jay and @Ryanne you might like to check out his rural works and coffee / food still life works.
Glad you are feeling better. I fell down last week with only 10 listings. My daughter had time off school and my husband was out of town. I also just took a night to binge watch The White Lotus on HBO while she was at homecoming so that’s unusual for me. Hope to very much get back on the wagon this week.
@Jay I also love Amazon returns as a buyer. We take them to Whole Foods. My dad takes his to an Amazon locker. Most of the retailers in the news were smaller but yes, if Amazon quit that would be good for sellers.
I got my order yesterday from both locations. So it took 11 days and came Fed Ex Ground. Packing was great. Considering the price I paid with the incredibly cheap shipping, I’m pretty happy. There were some defects that were not disclosed – both of these just really had photos only, which is very hard to see flaws on your phone and the pictures weren’t great. The quilt smells very clean. I think it created some wear when they or the donor washed it so they listed it at $12. There are some other marks, but overall it’s a great price for the item, which I will keep and repair. The painting has some looseness to the canvas.
I’ve been hawking Goodwill Finds but anything I’d buy at a really cheap price is taken before I arrive. You can sort by new listings. Scavengers are on it. Someone got an awesome Murano glass bull for $10. Some locations are more sophisticated and putting things up higher now for sure. But, still fun to look around. I’m watching a few items to see if will lower the price later. It’s also interesting to see what they know about – all the stuff I hear about on Youtube is showing up and it makes me hope that all of the locations don’t have a master list of goodies.

My favorite item from last week was this French completed needlework canvas. These are sleepers – the canvases alone with no yarn, etc. still sell high in some brands. This one was in an awful 1980s frame and glued on to cardboard with some hard core old school brown glue. I removed all of that and disclosed and pictured the residue. Purchased in the cheap art bin at my favorite indy thrift for $3. They put it straight in there along with another humble crewel piece that I listed for $24.

Number of items listed this week: 36Congrats on the success of the coffee shop once again! I see on Insta how gorgeous the fall colors are back East and hope to see it maybe next fall. Not in the cards for this year.
I have been reading in the news about people getting cautious about spending. It will be an interesting fourth quarter. I’m happy with my sales but have a bunch of low dollar Halloween stuff that hasn’t sold on Mercari and Ebay. After tomorrow I should have good time to list this week. I kind of let myself source quite a bit and need to get back to the piles. I made it up over 500 items on Ebay for the first time but fell below again.
Have a great week!
