so cool!!!! I’m an Amish Driver on the side and I love sharing your story with my customers. They are going to love hearing how fast it sold!
Your post made my day! Thanks for taking the time to share it:).
Our Store Week September 5-11, 2021
Total Items in Store: 531
Items Sold: 10
Gross Sales: $399.37 (including eBay fees, shipping, and taxes)
Net Sales: $216.49 (minus eBay fees, shipping, and taxes)
Cost of Items Sold: $14
Cost of helpers: $0
Highest Price Sold: $43 old misc key lot
Average Price Sold: $39.94
Returns: 2
Money Spent on New Inventory This Week: $43
Number of items listed this week: 8Ebay fees at 40%, I wish they would stop including shipping cost and taxes in our sales numbers. I’ve been putting one or two items up for auction each week, since I’ve noticed an increased interest in online auctions. Had a 1963 Alden’s Catalog sell at auction for $39.99, but only one bid. I only list items with a possible selling point of $20 or higher. We have two antique booths where I put the lower price items.
Spent Saturday at 2 auctions and a neighborhood yard sale. We are fortunate to have 2 auction houses within 20 miles of us.
Traveling and company the past few weeks has kept me from listing like I should…hoping this week to step it back up.
You and the family have been on my mind so much! Glad you are out of ICU and starting to mend. Thankful your daughter is showing an interest in helping you with the ebay business. Keep getting stronger!
I’ve also been ending items with severe damage and flaws. And being pickier about what I list. Buyers are not looking at pics and reading descriptions like they use to.
Thanks for continuing to interact via the forum. I’ve listened since almost the very beginning and it felt like my kids (about your ages) were dropping outta sight when you decided to end the podcast! I’m really sorry for not taking the time to leave more feedback and participating in your discussions, I’m hoping to do better with that now. I often think of Ryanne’s mom and her ebay store vs their wintering in the south. We also go south for the winter and it’s a dilemma for us also. Ryanne did I hear you say your mom gave you her ebay inventory? I assume she’s no longer selling?
My week picked up, but I did very little listing last week. I did do a complete inventory (something I’ve never done in the 20+ years we’ve been selling on eBay) and the results were frightening. I bet half of the items in my eBay inventory were no longer listed in my store! I couldn’t believe it! Now I am keeping a daily log of the active number so I can spot an issue.
Our Store Week August 29-September 4, 2021
Total Items in Store:527
Items Sold: 16
Gross Sales: $668.31 (including eBay fees, shipping, and taxes)
Net Sales: $453.35 (minus eBay fees, shipping, and taxes)
Cost of Items Sold: $12
Highest Price Sold: $64.99 (crocheted tablecloth)
Average Price Sold: $41.77
Returns: 1 (crocheted tablecloth)
Money Spent on New Inventory This Week: $5.00
Number of items listed this week: 5This is my 3rd return this month that the color or fit wasn’t right and the buyer chose “item not as described”. This trend is so irritating and abusive to sellers. The buyer even put in the comment for returning the tablecloth that it wasn’t the right color of purple to match her dining room! I’m starting to avoid putting the color in the listing and just picking the option of multicolor. I’ll give customer service a call, but I haven’t had much luck lately with getting them to side with the buyer.
I found this an issue too! I needed 8 weeks away. The only way I could find to work around it was to pause sales for the 30 days and change all my handling times to 30 days so that when the listings un-pause after 30 days, I still get another 30 days to ship. I suppose I could turn vacation mode back on again after the initial 30 days too. Hoping someone comes up with a way easier option. Good Luck!
first thing that I thought of was “mustache mug”. when I entered that in an ebay search, several like yours came up
That’s what I’m seeing too. Thanks for the heads up about the unknown transactions! I had a couple of those too and couldn’t figure them out. When I entered their transaction ID number into Paypal it said the transaction didn’t exist. It appears they have fallen off now as I am no longer seeing them in my uncategorized list of transactions.
Still seeing all the generic Paypal transaction each day in my list of uncategorized on GoDaddy. But as I stated before we use our Paypal Debit Card everyday for fuel, food, etc. Today I had 9 transactions to categorize, yesterday it was 15. Thankful they are only my personal transactions as of now!
Not the sales tax fees. In my case, these are all the transactions made with a paypal debit card. I’m wondering if it’s a change in coding at Paypals end.
YES! I contacted GoDaddy and they said it had to do with a change at PayPal’s end. They were working with PayPal but didn’t know if or when the problem would be corrected. It is such a pain! Everyday I have to copy and paste the transaction ID from GoDaddy into Paypal to see where the transaction occurred. We use our Paypal debit card as our go to card for everything…both personal and business…GoDaddy automatically knew where to categorize each transaction. I’m thinking of getting another card with a different company to use as our main card. It appears this is only a Paypal problem.
Me too!!!!! And I had 10 day handling set 🙁
Changed the ones that would let me.Thanks for the link to the text converter. I had no idea something like that existed!
Way back when, Griff (ebay radio) use to list in all caps, claiming an item would sell better. That being said, I’ve often wondered if the reason we see all caps in our Sold searches is because they do sell better. It would be interesting to experiment and see.
