Thanks for your input. Anyone else?
Perfect timing as we were trying to figure this out this morning. We are leaving this week for the Ebay open and a extended trip out west.
Cheryl could you clarify for me the process to add a banner to your listings.
I went to:
* Seller Hub
* Manage Store
* Checked: Vacation Settings
* Turn on
* Create Store Message
* Then Checked Box: Show People Date YOu Will be Back
*Select Date
Is this your process? I believe this will show up in our listings as a pre warning for our customers and then we can also follow up with a message directly to the buyer as you illustrated.
Thanks for your help.
Bruce and CyndiHey Tam, We ran into this same question on everyone of our listing. I have listed an item, NOT corrected the “Meta Tag” as suggested by the “Mobile Friendly Checker” then looked at the listing on both mobile, and on laptop….No Problems. I then went back into the listing and “Revised” the listing using the “Mobile Friendly Checker” fixed the “Meta Tag” as suggested then checked once again on mobile and on laptop and found no difference. I had a chance to run it by Jason T. Smith in Las Vegas and he to said “it is as old issue that is not really relevant any more and to list your items without worrying about this extra step”. That is what we have elected to do and had no problems. When we get out to the Ebay open next week that is one of the questions I want to additionally bounce off an Ebay representative and will post their answer here when I get it.
Cyndi and I will be there and a scavenger meet up would be kewl. Let’s do it!
I don’t fully understand how the search engine works so my question is do you think people actually use the term “Vintage” when searching for an item, and if they search using the full term “Vintage” does the search engine pick up “Vtg”?
Hey Jay this one is for you. I went up to “check the trap” the other day and someone had left a nice stainless steel coffee maker with carafe. I brought it home, gave it a little cleaning, fired it up and it worked like a champ. I started doing some research on it trying to decide if it was more valuable as a whole unit or would I be better off parting it out. Turns out there was a recall on it and after a couple of phone calls the company was sending me a prepaid shipping label to send it back and will be sending me a check for $99.90 for my trouble….cha-Ching! Is this a great country or what? lol
GMail and it looks like it did it again this morning. Weird Huh?
Interesting experiment. I do like your statistical model approach..good job please keep us posted.
If I can jump into the conversation, is there a way to put an inventory site designation of an item into a listing, where it would show up when you get a message that you have made a sale other than using valuable space in the 80 character title area? Ideally it would be great if there were a field that you could fill out as you list that would print out on the shipping label itself. That would enable you to print out your shipping labels for the day and the inventory location of the item would be right on the shipping label. Thanks
Arrowsr5 could you please elaborate on:
“In each listing I have a drop down to log information as to where the item is stored in inventory.”
Is this a drop down on the Ebay listing page or on a soft wear program you use? Where do your shipping people pick up the item location from to locate the item. Is it on the shipping label or an invoice?
Also I would love to hear your process for research before pricing and if you are given any “pricing guidelines”.
Thanks12/10/2016 at 9:47 am in reply to: What Sells On eBay: Travel bar, Tube stereo, Charlie Brown, Slot car set #7756Shayrn and anyone else who might be interested, I have used the following link to add a video to a listing. It was easy to use and worked like a champ. Also it’s mobile friendly.
I have not had much success with counter offers. Perhaps your approach with a quick ship offer is more engaging and is more like opening a conversation, resulting in better results. I will give it a try. Thanks
TOO DAMN FUNNY! I will never walk into a thrift again without singing that refrain! LOL You got me!
I enjoy listening to Ebay Radio Podcast. I have learned a lot from this podcast and the many people that call in or are interviewed. But I will say this it is a “radio show” and has a lot more “fluff” for lack of a better term. Scavenger life is much more bang for your time investment in my opinion.
Interesting article, it makes sense. I know even in men’s clothing an XL shirt is not always an XL shirt. I have recently been wondering how far in the future will we be no longer running to the store to pick up consumer goods? Instead we will just purchase the code on line to feed into a three D printer in our home to print a copy of what we need. It won’t be long before we stream all movies and books, and theaters and book stores will be a novelty rather that a shopping center anchor store. George Jetson’s life is not that far into the future……Although if his time period was so advanced why was he still getting into his space car to drive to work every morning???…..Why didn’t he just telecommute ????……..I really need to switch to decaf!!!
