I had a Nike duffle bag listed for $29.99 + S&H. A prospective buyer messaged me a few minutes ago asking me what my lowest price would be for this item. I replied with an offer of $27.99 + S&H. A few minutes later that same buyer paid $29.99 + S&H for the item?!?!?!
04/21/2017 at 1:27 pm in reply to: Scavenger Life Episode 306: We Love Flea Markets and Craigslist #16903Went to Goodwill today. Saw a pair of ankle-length Harley Davidson boots. They were used, but in pretty good shape. The soles looked very good. They wanted $15. I was about to pop on them when I noticed the left boot was size 9 ½ and the right boot was size 9. I looked at both tags a few times and yes, they were different sizes. I left them since I didn’t want to have to explain this situation in the eBay listing and probably end up with a return. Got me to wondering whether in this age of customization whether one could buy a pair of different sized footwear. Yes you can. I’m sure there are others, but I found this site.

I still didn’t want to buy them, but am curious if anyone else sells different sized footwear for one pair of shoes/boots, etc.

I’ve heard of Shopify bfore. It doesn’t get much discussion on the scavengerlife podcast mostly because (I assume) eBay takes out the hassle of running your own site and costs less. This article does indicate that Shopify does have integration with Amazon. It would be interesting if it also had integration with eBay. I did investigate Shopify a few years ago. Maybe I’ll take another look at them now. Does anyone on this blog use Shopify? If, “Yes”, what has your experience been?

Can’t complain about free beer and nachos. 🙂
I should have made that an image, not a link.

Jay, Ryanne: This is a weird thing to ask on a blog, but after you use the bidet how do you dry yourself off? I’ve never used a bidet.

03/22/2017 at 9:41 am in reply to: Scavenger Life Episode 302: How to Deal with Dreaded eBay Scammers Lurking Everywhere!! #15046Sold a brand new Samsung smart watch for $338 on eBay, which is around the upper price for this item on eBay. The buyer paid right away and also sent me a rather long message through eBay. He states that the watch I sold was about $12 cheaper than the Sprint store in his area and the Sprint store would have charged him tax on top of that as well. He goes on to hint that my item might not be legit or there’s some caution to be exercised. He said he will message me two more times concerning this item. 1) He will let me know when his item arrives, 2) He will let me know after he receives the item and configures it to his liking. He didn’t ask me to do anything nor did he actually ask me a question so I didn’t respond. However, I am now the cautious one as I expect him to have buyer’s remorse. Wasn’t much I could do since he paid right away so I hope he keeps it. I’m not asking for suggestions on what to do since there currently is no issue. I guess I could add a restocking fee.
Ryanne: I think my coupon just showed up in my eBay messages. This is not the coupon you get quarterly with a store subscription. I’m not sure what the criteria is/was, but I received one and my friend did too.
Jay, Ryanne: I think one of the reason why your sales were so good last week is due to the free coupons eBay has been handing out. A friend of mine told me about this last week He said he received a $10.00 coupon good for use on eBay. I went home and found that eBay gave me a $25.00 coupon.
I thought about buying some shipping supplies, but didn’t really need much. Then I realized that I have been wanting to get a second scale to put in my basement. I have a small scale in the office I have on the main floor of my house. I sometimes package items in the basement if I need a bit more room. Now, I won’t have to carry the scale downstairs. It wasn’t really necessary, but it is sure convenient.
Anyway, I bought a nice scale on eBay for ~$29.00, so it only cost me $3.00.
