I posted in another thread a way around this. I noticed that while I was doing a experimental 10% my entire store that when you go into a listing it only shows other items in my store. I’m not sure if this works in every case but I couldn’t seen anyone else’s listings.
It’s possible that running a 5% sale continuously and just upping your prices by 5% may solve it.
I had been meaning to post a problem very similar to this actually. It happened to me back in December but only like 10% of my store went into unsold. I relisted them and it hasn’t happened since. I periodically check the unsold now just in case.
I have yet to find a podcast anywhere near as good as Scavenger Life. I’ve looked for years. Not even close. There are a few Youtube channels that I follow and you can glean some knowledge from them but I subscribe mostly just to find new items to sell that I hadn’t thought of. Craigslisthunter, Hart Pickers (very long videos usually), Dorky Thrifters, The Potter’s Pickers etc.
If you want to go through the Youtube reselling rabbit hole be prepared to find a lot of misinformation and a smidge of negativity. Just watch a video or two from someone and stick with it if you find something useful.
As for podcasts to listen to while listing. I’ve gone through SL twice and it’s interesting to listen to them back when it was Mikey and Wendy with them. I’m definitely keeping tabs on this post in case something comes up though.
I am on the other end of the spectrum. January was my best or 2nd best month to date. I did have a slow period the last couple days but then a jump in sales since last night. I wouldn’t worry too much. You gotta endure the slows and appreciate the highs.
We have a D’angelos in Portland so they are still around. Up there, Amatos is king. Damn good italians.
One post was on the dreaded Ebay forums and one on their facebook post that I linked earlier in this post. I don’t usually deal with Smartpost so I don’t have much to offer other than that.
Nice, it looks like the calculated shipping works on the item I was having trouble with so it should be good. Hopefully the buyer isn’t discouraged too much to still buy it ha.
I saw a couple posts about that Sharyn. Both using FedEx Smart post and getting a wildly inflated number when going to print the label.

Also: Is it me or did they tweak the wording on the drop down menu when selecting shipping options? I think it used to say priority package or large envelope and now it just says priority package.
The rep just called me back to apologize that she was misinformed. They figured out that while updating the new rates they weight limit got set back to 13oz. She said it was put on an “urgent” fix schedule and should be fixed as soon as possible. Phew! What an Ebay technology ride today has been ha.
Ebay CS finally called me back and the rep is insisting that the limit was changed yesterday down to 13oz. I still don’t think that is right as it doesn’t say anything about that in any of the “postal rate changes” lists.
I did a test and tried listing something that was 17oz for first class and the error message even states that the limit is 16oz.
Yeah it still says 15.999oz everywhere I look except for here:
I just went to check the first class rates on the USPS site and they are not listing prices for anything over 13oz now. I don’t remember hearing that they were going to reduce the limit from 16oz but could that be it?
That’s what it’s all been about, enjoying what I do and having time to do what I want. Even after listening to you two for years I was surprised that I was making like 50% of my good paying job by working like maybe at most 12 hours a week ha. Here’s to closing that gap in the coming months!
True, modifying the listing seems quite a bit easier. I thought you could specify free shipping in the offer sent through messages but like I said I’ve never offered it. I also noticed that the “send offer” disappears after you reply to a message. I learned two new things today that’s gotta be a plus ha.
