I’ve been on both ends. I’ve bought with the purpose of reselling at a much higher rate (including tickets) and I’ve been the buyer from a scalper. I feel both good and bad things about the issue. I hate it when 1 person buys up everything so a person who just wants one can’t get it locally. It’s like the couponers who take all of the item and the little old lady comes in just wanting one but their all gone to one person who couldn’t just take a few. I’m running into this issue with that Pokemon Go thing that my nephew wants and I can’t find one anywhere because people are buying whole cases and reselling them for 100 dollars each. If its a clearance item then I don’t care at all if they take them off. They’ve been sitting there unsold. Or if i have to wait in line and do work just to get one the way you did then I wouldn’t care. I earned the right to throw mine up for a high price. But on the flip side if i can’t buy one locally for other reasons and they have them online for a higher price, Im happy to buy it from them because i wouldn’t have it otherwise. Or maybe i didn’t have money at the time of the sale but i do now and want a higher end version, im willing to pay more for that. I shelled out 1000 dollars for tickets once and I was happy to do so because it meant I was on the front row of a show i really cared about.
Update…..NEVER AGAIN lol. I spent so much time locating, packaging, and shipping these plush that I will never do a big auction again like this. I don’t see how Ryanne does it after a big trip. I’m exhausted only after shipping a little over 30 things. And I get 6 shipped and realize ive ran out of labels and now must manually tape them all on. Or I realize i didn’t charge shipping on a few and im literally losing money. Ugh lol. Never again. I do actually like buying and selling them and i never sell for under 10 dollars and most of the time they go from 20 to 30 which is pretty decent for a .50 buy. But they take up space, that’s my issue.
I’m not sure how far it goes back. I know it shows stuff I bought in August. I wish it was in order. It’s certainly not as well designed at the other site was but it still works. As to how it’s useful it can show you what a buyer has bought recently. Sometimes it can give you an indication of the price range a buyer in comfortable paying or aid in figuring out if someone is trying to scam you. Say you sell a game to someone and they want a refund or say it’s broken and you look on there and they bought another one for cheaper the day after, that could mean they just found a better deal or the item that’s broken may be the other sellers and not yours. It just gives you more insight.
I posted about this a day or so ago but no one replied. I’m glad people are at least seeing your post. It’s very sad all the way around. He was an organ donor so he will give new life to others.
Little suggestion. When you go to comment it asks you to sign in but then takes you all the way back out to the home page. Can you make it to where you land back where you were? It’s sometimes hard to figure out what thread you were in and what person you replying to. thanks guys.
I’ve already used it this week to help me figure out what the heck my screwy buyer was trying to pull. Thanks Anne for letting us know about it.
You can’t send an invoice with gsp. You don’t get that option. They only can send it. If the buyer requests a total and you send that, it kicks the item out of the gsp program all together and then you’re not covered and have to ship it yourself. She really has two choices, pay or cancel. I’m not opting out of the gsp for this one. She is now trying to tell me I have to give her the total and I know that’s not true. I ship gsp all the time. It’s as easy as domestic.
I still don’t like how it looks on my phone. I have to read comments in a weird vertical line with two words on a line by itself and scroll forever. Or if I flip my phone to read it better it’s awkward to hold and I can’t comment because the text box is covered by the on screen keyboard. If I rotate it back it starts at the tip of the page again and I lose my spot. Also in some spots numbers are jumbled over other words.
Have her take a pic of the zipper area. Offer a partial and maybe she can get the zipper fixed. Did you have pics of that area in your listing? If it shows it was clearly not damaged than I might not do anything but apologize and let her do the work of trying to get it returned. I would imagine if its not damaged in the pics they don’t have much of a case. It all depends on how much hassle you want to deal with.
I just figured out the tiny right hand reading issue. When I turn my phone horizontal it looks normal. But I can’t comment that way because the keyboard pops up and I can’t see anything. If I flip my phone back vertical it starts the comments at the top again. I think I’ll keep listening to the podcasts but my commenting days may be over. Overly complicated for me. I miss the old blog. Sorry . But I hope others are having better luck with it.
Oh and one last thing. You may want to remind ppl you reply to peoples posts by the button above the post, not below it as the old site was.
Hey Ryanne and Jay. Mobile phone user. Just a few things I’ve noticed so far since you asked for our opinion. It took me forever to find the register option. Someone else mentioned this too. When you hit the menu button it doesn’t show and you have to find the arrow and its hidden under there. Secondly, if I’m being honest, I don’t think most non core group people are going to register just to make a comment and since you have YouTube comments disabled, you will probably get far less people commenting. And some people don’t even watch if they know its a hassle to comment. And comments show up badly for me as a phone user. They are vertically long and in a line on the right. It makes reading them hard when there’s two words on a sentence. I’ve seen this on other sites as well. It may jusr be a style choice. And where did the mp3 downloadable option go? That’s usually how I listen so I can still use my phone. Having a video not linked to the forum is tricky too since you have to remember the title to match it up. Once there though , do you want people to break their comments up into sections or just keep their general post together as an overall weekly update the way they have been doing it? I just want to know how you want us to do things. Ok so that’s all the things I see for now that can be improved on. I think many nice things about your site too but those won’t help you as much right now to work out the kinks. Good luck with all your endeavors.
