That’s the million dollar question, Jay. All I can say is that I went from $40ish days back to my normal $200-$400 after I fixed my listings. That said, I rely on these sales as my full time income and without that income I cannot make my son’s college tuition payment. So I jumped on fixing this instead of waiting for eBay to do so. After the picture debacle, I don’t trust them.
I guess we will never know, but either way it works for me. 🙂
Also, for Ryan, I am a she. 🙂
Actually the sky is sort of falling right now if you are a clothing or shoe seller. Our stuff is not being seen. I’ve sold $80ish in clothing in 72 hours when it’s normally about $1200. I’ve sold nothing today. No offers. No messages. Something is wrong.
They will not relist when it’s time to renew due to the errors. They are unsearchable right now. I had a $45 day yesterday and $40 the day before. I sell hundreds per day. This is crippling.

If you go into bulk editor and bulk edit 500 at a time, click on any clothing item and see if there is a size that is blank. Keep doing that all the way through your clothing and shoe listings. Disregard if there is an exclamation point. This is an issue for almost all of my listings.
This thread will show the impact:

The size field has been duplicated. So the original one that we all used is no longer valid. It makes no sense. And dress and skirt length have been added with the options such as short, long, midi etc. This is useless and will open the doors to INADS because a very tall person wearing a “knee length” skirt would be wearing a mini and a petite person wearing the same skirt or dress will be wearing a midi. It’s completely subjective. So for a huge chunk of my listings I have to go back in each listing and add the new size field. Oh, and color is now required. I hate that too because some colors don’t fit neatly in color categories. There are blue/greens that are neither blue or green but a combination of both. Same with olive brown.
Just saw someone else also suggested Maxsold. Oops!
How about doing a Maxsold auction that you manage?
@mycottage I agree that this was not a surprise. I certainly wasn’t. I’m confident 4th quarter will be great. I haven’t had a bad one yet and I’ve been selling for years. September has been super up and down for me, but the ups have been really up. So I’m looking forward to more up days through the rest of this year.
@MDCGalleries not a fan of that youtuber. As far as 4th quarter goes, I’m optimistic. My sales go from meh to holy crap awesome every other week it seems. If this continues through 4th quarter, I’ll be happy. I might need heart medication, but I’ll still be happy lol.
I’m personally hoping they pick someone who is pro-seller. I have mixed feelings about Wenig. I think he made some good decisions and some very poor ones. Change can be good. I’m optimistic.
I’m only experiencing issues now when rotating images.
One more thought on this….
If what everyone is saying is true, if your listings are promoted only the PL will show to buyers, that means all of our listings say “sponsored”. If that is the case, many buyers will skip over those listings. I know I do. SO my entire store is promoted. If all those listings say sponsored, I might be hurting my sales. I’m so hesitant to make a change not even two weeks before 4th quarter. If I turn off promoted listings will it help or hurt me? I know no one can answer that. That’s what’s going on inside of my brain.
Also, isn’t it sort of illegal for eBay to only show listings that are promoted, never giving organic listings a chance to sell?
