Wow BigSally,
I think you are on to something.
I looked on their people page and this is what I found
Just a few thoughts.
1. Apparently the flag they have is called a cavalry flag
2. You may want to post this on Instagram. There may be someone who can identify these gentlemen.
If I may chime in,
What you left out is that those heading over 40, 45 and beyond are on the down side of caring what others think and say. Are heading on the downside of caring what you should and could do toward what you want to do. Are heading on the downside of having people around who really do not exemplify the term friend and/or family. Are heading on the downside of needing to be whatever because others tell you to. Are heading on the downside of having to define your life and being by the someone else’s standards. Are heading on the downside of accepting behavior from others to establishing and/or confirming a line in the sand as to what is and isn’t acceptable. Are heading on the downside of participating in and/or doing stuff because others say so to doing things and participating in things because you want to.
Thanks Mike.
That is very helpful.Thanks Jay.
I remember another seller noting on one of the SL’s threads that they had a problem because they combined shipping when they were not asked to leavinv them without tracking on the second item which was reported as not arriving.
Have you and Ryanne experienced this? If so, how did you guys handle this?
Jay,
That makes sense. And the request for refund because they did not ask for combined shipping until after the items were shipped causing them to be charged for each shipment?
Jay,
How would you handle the shipping refund request?Wow! That sounds very frustrating.
Try to be matter of fact about it and treat it as just another facet of selling. You are the seller, not them. It is on them to say something ahead of time and not wait and then tell you what to do after the fact. I would not refund the shipping if you have charged them accurately and they accepted what was charged. I would offer that you not respond to the messages. If they have a problem, they can send the item back or call ebay. I would move on the next thing. Everyone has an opinion, so you will have to choose whose to follow – yours (who knows the facts) or theirs (whose facts are based on thier perception of the facts). Other sellers may have a different opinion.
It will take some time, but it is doable. If she has her own account, have her open her account. Then from her account, have her go to Advanced search and search for the shared account under Search for Seller on the left side as if she was a buyer. This will bring up the store/account. She can then go through the listings. While in her account, click on the listing from the shared account (as a buyer). Once it opens, look under the main picture on the left where it says Have One to Sell? Sell Now. Simply click and a listing will open. While it will take time, this might be a really good opportunity for her to update each listing with her own signature touch so as to start to distinguish hers from yours. If I recall correctly, she will have to reupload pictures because they are not included. It may be of benefit to have the shared account open in a sepearate browser in order to end listings from the shared account once she has at least created a draft in her account.
Cool resource. Thanks for sharing this.
This does not seen consistent with the easy returns ebay is pushing. Nor does it seem consistent with good customer service promoted. It seems unnecessary to have this escalated and turned into a whole back and forth drama. With the focus on best business practices, I would offer that you may want to call back and walk this thing through with another rep.
Thank you for sharing. It is helpful to see other seller’s perspectives on flip ratios.
I think you can refund them just for the cost of the item. If you knew there were issues with the item when it was listed and they accepted the issues and then bought the item only to pay for the return, I am not sure why they would need to open a return case. You would then have to have them go through the process of determining who is going to pay for the return label when it has already been paid for by them sending it back to you. You may want to simply refund them and call ebay and get your FVF back once you see the return has been approved by PayPal.
Julie B,
I would offer that you take the middle ground here. There are many companies who work the same way – if you are not on site they will dock you but if you stay and work overtime, it is considered as expected and even normal because you are hired as a professional to do a job and see it through to the end. If you completely back down and do not get your job done, it could leave you in a place of receiving a bad review or on shaky ground.
I would offer that you priortize and bring up prioritization when you are speaking with someone about an assignment or simply given an assignment. Maybe when you are given an assignment, respond with something like -“Looking at my schedule, it looks like I can have that to you by…..”. If they give you an urgent deadline and you are already working on something for someone (especially if you are under a deadline), I would offer that you communicate with the original person that you have been given/assigned a task with an urgent/immediate deadline by such and such, so you will need to extend the deadline for completion for the task you are working on. If the individuals involved know each other, the onious will be on them to figure out whose project will get done first. I would also offer that you reduce your hours slowly. So for instance, if you usually work 2 or 3 hours extra to get work done beyond your scheduled assignment, only stay one hour for at least a week and then back it down to 1/2 hour.
Based on what you have shared about yourself in these forums (i.e. your area of expertise), there are many years ahead of you of work possibilities and you never know where your furture path is going to lead, so it would be good to leave on good professional terms in case you should need a reference in the future. I would offer that you may not want to share your frustrations with co workers because people talk and sometimes not so nicely and not accurately.
It may be important to leave all doors open and exit with an excellent reputation. With that in mind, make sure to give plenty of notice you are leaving and assist if possible with ideas as to who can handle the work you are leaving. It may feel like it’s about them but actually this is about you empowering yourself and creating the next path in your life.
