Pastel (colors), archaic? That’s an interesting one.
So stuff like that sells? I know art is what the person looking at it says it is, so please don’t take offense to my lack of appreciation for this one. But, I would look at that and instantly think “no one wants that”.

Number of items listed this week: 5702/26/2017 at 3:55 pm in reply to: What kind of margins to look for with intent to sell eBay mostly? #13369All great points. Thanks everyone! I got started shortly after this post and have posted ~45 items since. We’ll see how it goes. A lot of them are sports cards though, and I’m very familiar with selling/trading those.
I’ve noticed a little (kind of) hidden feature in google translator. To the right of the microphone button you can bring out a keyboard with the characters of the language for input into translator. It’s been really helpful for me as most of these buttons appear to be all caps, which makes it easy to enter the words correct enough for google to figure it out.
I agree with you Knockout. All those houses and not a single other person around. A very lonely piece indeed.
That’s brilliant. Like a little “feeler” auction with just one or two. Cool idea. Thank you.
Jay, Steven – I will definitely be doing the research. It’s pretty fun the more I look into them. Some interesting stuff, and it almost tells a story about someone.
Sonia – You’re awesome. I very much appreciate the time you took there. It gives me a great starting point. Most of them seem to be from museums and such now that you mention it. I’ll be looking into the museums in Moscow and kind of cross checking eBay with those then. Thanks so much!
I also have read that many countries are EXTREMELY picky about what money they accept for currency conversion. For example, one thread I read about it mentioned a Russian woman who went back and forth (US/Russia) a lot. When she went back to Russia, they would only accept perfect $100s for conversion. Perhaps people need uncirculated 100s for some reason like that?
I also see a money laundering angle. The gift card thing also makes sense. There could be collectors also that want them because they can’t get them from their bank for some reason. idk…
Completely weird.
You guessed it Deb! Senior year and off to med school next year. 🙂 Again, welcome!
Hi Deb!
It’s great to hear your story. I graduated high school in Milan, OH. Not sure if that’s anywhere near you, but I loved Ohio while I lived there! Cedar Point!
Looking forward to hearing from you. It sounds like your need for flexibility matches mine (I’m a full time student, who also volunteers, shadows physicians, has a family, and remains a military reservist). Good luck to you! See you around. 🙂
As an update, I did end up with them all (60/70 of them) for $12. The Broncos / 49ers super bowl XXIV pin sells around that by itself. Looks like a got a good find. Beginners luck probably. 🙂
Yes, it was at a preview which I couldn’t go to. :-/ So I don’t have better photos. I love this kind of stuff too. School took precedence today though, so I was planning on picking them up anyways. I’d put them in my office.
My buddy went to the preview, but doesn’t really look at this kind of stuff much. So he just has generic comments for me really.
I was in the Navy. A submariner, nuke. Crazy life. Thanks for your service! I have a lot of respect for those of you in the Army/Marines. I stayed nice and safe underwater “pushing”. I’m sure I’ll see you around. Seems you’re pretty active!
02/21/2017 at 12:38 pm in reply to: What kind of margins to look for with intent to sell eBay mostly? #12994Oh boy. Keep it simple. Wish me luck with that one, 35 years later I still have trouble with that. haha!
Wow. Nice catch there! Just noticed it’s a BoSox pin right next to it. Yeah, $12 seems a steal now. Thank you!
