Get to it! One of my lures already sold, so it was worth the tedium of listing these things.
Gotta love the names given by lure manufacturers. I have Bang-O-Lures and Tiny Chuggers. Baby Chuggers, too. The Tiny Chuggers are kind of cute, but my husband would probably roll his eyes if he heard me say that.
@Retro, some of the lures I can definitely take out of the package. The plastic shell has come loose from the card in places, so I can squeeze the lure out without wrecking the packaging.
I’m in. Tonight, I listed 5 death pile items: fishing lures. My husband’s grandfather gave him a box of vintage lures, and husband passed the ones he doesn’t want on to me to sell. Unfortunately, we don’t have any super-valuable lures, but there’s a $150-ish in lures in the box. My pics aren’t the greatest, though. The plastic clamshells for the lures have yellowed with age so it was hard to get decent pics of the colors. I may try retaking pictures outside later this week.

You’ve done more than enough to resolve this. This is the buyer’s problem to sort out with their local PO and/or neighbors.
I’ve had a few buyers contact me after the fact to say “Oh, that address is wrong, send it here instead!”. Um, the package left my state 12 hours ago. Contact your local PO, explain the problem, and see if they will hold that package for you to pick up.
Once the buyer realizes that there’s nothing I can do on my end, they figure out a plan on their end.
I was able to list 35 items this past week. I didn’t think it was that much, but I guess I was more industrious than I realized!
And…I GOT ALL THE BOOKS LISTED!!!
I had 19 items that showed no tracking info. I was not able to add any kind of tracking info for the GSP items. They all gave me an error message stating “a transaction with this tracking number already exists in the system”. :/
I feel like with the plan for eBay to move to managed payments and away from Paypal that the two companies are not communicating well with each other anymore. This is the second weird sort of electronic communication break down that has happened for me. The last time I called eBay about a “Paypal and eBay not updating each other” type issue, the CSR at eBay was like “Yeah, we know. It happens.” There was no plans to fix the problem and eBay really didn’t care. :/
I didn’t list a thing last week, and I have no good excuse for it!
I did get the last of the books photographed, so there’s that. I also took the junky books to the used book store and got some cash back.
Home stretch!
If you went down to one car and it died and needed to be in the shop for a week, what is your backup plan for transportation? It’s easier to put together temporary transportation in the suburbs or city, but harder in rural areas, especially away from family and friends who can pick you up or loan you a car for a few days. That would be my only hesitation in getting rid of the second car.
I had this happen once. The photos were of some glass items, and I took pics holding them up to the light outside. You could see part of my hand (with tattoo) and backyard in the photos. I felt that was kind of bold, lol. Dude, it’s my hand!
I sent the other person a firmly worded message saying those were my pictures, I could prove they were mine (My hand! My yard! My tattoo!), he absolutely did not have permission to use them, and he had 24 hours to take them down or I’d be forced to report him to eBay.
He took them down and wrote an apologetic note back. Hopefully he decided to invest time in taking his own pics going forward.
I wouldn’t do this either. If the picker walks away without finalizing a deal, then yeah, approach the seller and say you’ll pay their full asking price. If they are in the middle of negotiating a deal, it seems jerky to cut in. Don’t be a jerk unless someone leaves you no choice. You never know; that picker could one day do you a favor.
I’ll join in! This last week, I listed 39 items. It seemed like SO much when I was listing, but now seems like hardly anything. I swear, the pile of junk never gets any smaller!
On the plus side, I am almost done listing the 1400 books I bought at auctions in December and March. I also listed a box of fabric that I knew would become a death pile if I didn’t get on it right away.
Once those books are done, I am going to do a little dance, I swear.
I just looked, and no, SAS shoes are not on eBay’s vero list. I have a hard time believing that SAS would spend time going after weenie little Bonanza and overlook eBay.
I shut my Bonanza store down.
I’d take that deal. Deals like that don’t come along very often, and now you won’t have to go out and source for a while.
It sounds, however, like you kinda don’t want to take the deal? Is it the volume of inventory that is off-putting or the financial layout? Is there anyone in your area that would go halfsies on it with you?
I also disagree that the era of good, cheap merchandise is coming to an end.
