Well darn, this explains a situation I recently had. For the first time EVER, Retail Ground was the cheapest rate. So I listed an item with that as the only shipping option. Then someone at an APO address bought the item. I went to print the label and there was no Retail Ground option. So I thought it just wasn’t an option for APO.
Now I know what’s going on. Oh well, it cost me $12 out of pocket to use the next “cheapest” option. Ugh… Thanks for the information!
Oh, I should clarify that everyone who make offers that are auto-accepted have paid pretty much immediately. It’s the ones I have to manually accept (because they are below the limit I set for auto-accept) who keep screwing me. Even when I accept within a minute of receiving notification.
I don’t know that it’s “superstitious” (probably just learned behavior), but I now get a sinking feeling every time I accept an offer. I used to have very good luck with offers. But the last 4 have been those who make an offer then never pay, leading to an unpaid item case. And that’s really starting to irritate me. And I accepted another offer 2 nights ago. Guess what? That’s right, they’ve ghosted as well.

Vintage Treasures mentioned people making offers but not paying. Ugh.. I’m soooooo sick of this. I currently have 2 unpaid item cases open because of people who’ve made offers – which I’ve accepted – but then wouldn’t pay. I try to get them to tell me why they’d make an offer for something when they have no intention to pay. All I get are crickets.
While most band saws use only two wheels, there are indeed 3-wheeled models. The third wheel moves the part of the blade over to give the saw a deeper “throat” (more distance between the cutting part of the blade and the column that supports the upper wheel and guides).
True, you can get there that way and only see the relevant ones. But I also buy on eBay and it just makes sense (for me) to leave all of my feedback from one page.
If it contained bearings, it might be a “pillow block”. It’s hard to know the right term not knowing the particular saw.
I heard rumors of PayPal reversing the change. But I’ve searched and cannot find anything official to confirm that they’ve even considered reverting to the old return policy. So I think that rumor is likely non-sense. But I did find that their own site gives conflicting information. They say two different things.

I understand why they might want to suppress the actual sale price for best offers. It dawned on me after starting this topic and I realized that exposing that info could lead to prices artificially plummeting as result of a desperate seller who accepts a ridiculous lowball offer.
I think what annoys me the most is that eBay says that it “sold for”, rather than just leaving it at “best offer accepted”. It’s like they’re actively lying.
I don’t know if it’s new or not. I only know that I hadn’t noticed it. But as soon as I heard you talk about it on the show, I had to try it. So far I’ve sent bulk offers twice and really like it. So thanks for sharing the discovery with us (and thanks to person who told you about it)!
There are still some items I prefer to offer a given dollar amount off of, but being able to send bulk %-off offers is really helpful.
I wish they’d add bubble wrap (large and small) and some smaller box sizes (at least 4x4x4 & 6x4x4) and small bubble mailers (4×7 (#000)). I have plenty of every box and bubble mailer size they have, but I do use and keep ordering them to use up my coupon. So I have to keep buying smaller ones from other sources. I also have enough poly mailers to last me through the next decade.
I like the eBay tape; it’s actually really good. But I already have enough of their tape to last until the end of the year. And I haven’t gotten any since last year. I wish they’d add clear tape to the lineup.
Thanks for the tip about sending bulk offers! I just heard that part while listing and was able to send a bunch of offers without having to go through one at a time. Yes!
Oh, I meant to mention that – in my case – speech therapy only helped for the short term. And (I believe) only because it had me excited about “taking action”; again. But afterwards, I was right back to the same severity. In my case, there are underlying issues that exacerbate it. And it all becomes a self-feeding vicious circle.
