My big sale of last week was a gold ring with a Tahitian pearl and small diamond accents for $150. It is a commission, but still very good.
https://www.ebay.com/itm/184238795947My local library has a book sale once a year inside the town’s mall. It is a fundraiser, so I don’t mind spending a bit more than usual. This sealed CD from an Israeli rock singer took about a year to sell. I paid $2 and it sold for $19. It is all in Hebrew.
https://www.ebay.com/itm/183769153352I’ve had this huge typewriter in inventory for a few years. I was storing it on top of a counter, and I kept bumping into it. I had it priced pretty high, but I took the $40 offer without countering it because I just wanted it gone. It was a bear to pack, but I just got great feedback saying what a good job I did.
https://www.ebay.com/itm/184203826569From my whiskey pitcher purchase last year, I sold two to someone in Malta through GSP. The nice thing is that the buyer was able to put both in their cart and pay for them together with combined shipping. I don’t know when eBay fixed that issue, but it is nice that the GSP now lets you do that. I paid less than 25 cents per pitcher, and they paid $45 total for the two.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/183982421109Talking about those whiskey pitchers, I had someone on Etsy want to buy all my pitchers that were from Crawford’s. I had four listed on Etsy, four that were sitting around not listed, and one listed on eBay. I put all nine for her in one listing for $154, which included shipping of about $46 from NJ to TX. Her last name is Crawford, so I don’t know if she is related to the founder of the distillery in Scotland, or if she just collects stuff with her last name.

They have wood structures covered with fabric, and the guy kept it in his attic for years. Gross. I was thinking to list them on Facebook, but you’ve given me some great ideas here. Thanks!
If you have free returns, then you pay the return shipping no matter what the issue.
Yes, doubly, please post the instructions! I also emailed them about the issue a few weeks ago, but I did not get anything about it being resolved. I get annoyed each week having to add up all my sales rather than just pulling it down from GoDaddy. Thanks!
Thanks for the podcast. Perhaps I will go and sign up for MP as well.
I just packaged up all my sales from the weekend, and I found that eBay has fixed two GSP issues. One is that my buyer (from Malta) was able to combine two items into one purchase. The other is that I was able to buy a label along side all my others in the Bulk Shipping page. Happy days!
Week of May 3-9
* Total Items in Store: 1365 eBay, 33 Etsy
* Items Sold: 33 eBay
* Cost of Items Sold: $41.69 + $132.70 Commission
* Total Sales: $688.35 eBay
* Highest Price Sold: $150 White gold ring (commission)
* Average price: 20.85
* Returns: 0 (1 NPB)
* Money Spent on New Inventory This Week: $0
* Number of items listed this week: 2Lots of sales this week. Except for my one big sale, all the others were mostly lower prices. A few in the $25 to $40 range.
I sold four technical books (one listing) for $10. I looked through my inventory four or five times and could not find them. I think I had decided to donate those books with some old textbooks, and somehow they got relisted. I contacted the buyer and offered a refund or anything in my store $25 or less. She was very understanding and picked an item for $19. I ended the item, and I’m shipping it out today.
On Saturday, I relisted all my auctions. I list items I want out of inventory in an auction until they sell or I donate. I almost relisted the item that my buyer chose instead of her books. So, now I think I know how the books were accidentally relisted. User error for sure!
I listed two, and only because I rushed to do photos and listings last night.
The two main reasons I’ve have such low listing numbers is due to my new part-time job and the large number of sales. Both aren’t bad issues to have, so I’ll take what I can get.
I did sell one item that was part of my challenge. I was thinking to myself “what if I make this challenge and then don’t sell anything?”. Well, I had one, so I’m thankful for that.
@Amatino – Consider signing up for business policies. That will prevent you from the accidental free shipping issue in the future. It does take some time to organize in the beginning, but I think it is well worth it.Because of my low listing numbers, I’ve got death piles a plenty. I’ll be happy for that June challenge!

I have three left, two are working and one is not. They were part of a large radio purchase in September. I paid less than $3 an item.
https://www.ebay.com/itm/184211025828One of my parents’ friends decided to completely remodel their kitchen, and, of course, they had to have new coordinating stuff. I usually divide up silverware sets, but this one didn’t seem so popular. I sold a near complete set for $80 with best offer.
https://www.ebay.com/itm/183912567531With more people cooking at home these days, I’ve been selling lots cooking stuff such as these Asian covered bowls. I sold one last week for $22, and one this week on a counter offer of $20. I paid about $2 each, and I have one left.

I sold a shaving mug recently that had a little shelf like that, but it didn’t have the holes. It also looked more like a mug than a china cup. I don’t know, but I’m pretty sure mine is a shaving mug.

They can detect accounts from the same computer by looking at the IP address. I am sure that they will not ding your account for canceling a purchase from this person.
05/07/2020 at 1:07 pm in reply to: How is USPS copping during the Pandemic? Just wondering….. #77201I had a package that I had shipped out on April 24 and only had the acceptance scan on it. It sat there for about a week and a half when the buyer alerted me to the issue. I opened a missing package claim this past Saturday and was hoping for the best.
I read somewhere (and I think I’ve hear it before) that sometimes adding an email address for updates helps gets things started. On Tuesday, I looked up the tracking number on the USPS website and added my email address. Later that afternoon, I received an update saying that it was scanned at the sorting facility. Since then, I’ve received several emails with progress and a delivery date of this Saturday.
Did my missing package claim move it along? Did adding the email help? Was it all a coincidence? Why was the package stuck in some kind of limbo in the first place? I have no idea, but I’m very happy it wasn’t lost or something like that. I’m in NJ, so we’ve definitely one of the states hit hard by COVID. My local USPO seems to be OK. I don’t see any packages lining around, but there are definitely fewer cashiers.
It doesn’t hurt to try. You can contact customer service through email or eBay for Business on Facebook and state your case. It might depend on what the feedback said.
If you get the item back, and there is no issue with it, then refund his money.
If you never get the item back, then don’t refund his money. By not getting tracking, he has no way to prove he sent anything back. PayPal will lift the hold on your money after a certain amount of time (not sure how long, but maybe a month).
Trying to get the hold lifted early isn’t going to help. eBay is giving buyers a longer time to return items because the USPS is running slow.
Yes, I’ve seen this. It has been around for a bit, but not too long. I used it recently to find a USA seller of an item I wanted.
I’ve never heard of eBay forcing a seller to refund without a return. The only situation I can see that happening is if the item was damaged in transit and it would be hazardous to ship it back (like glass).
I suggest sending a message through the Facebook group eBay for Business or to their customer support email and asking the question.
Damn, I’ve seen that logo somewhere. I looked up the Tau Beta Pi engineering honor society, but that isn’t it. Maybe a company logo? Hopefully, I’ll figure it out later.
I’m pretty sure that it isn’t a Greek thing, but more of a technology thing. Pi is used to represent a number that is used often in math and engineering.
