Dvd and vhs are on the way up. People want to get away from streaming for various reasons. Music gets changed, content edited, etc. a lot of people in rural areas can’t stream too.
I recently sold a sealed carol burnett dvd set for $70.
a complete set of Big Bang theory for $60.
there’s money in dem Dere piles of media.Store still closed. Once I’m able to go home my daughter is very interested in learning the whole eBay process.
Moved out of ICU yesterday to normal room. Progress is SLOW but progress is progress!
It’s hard to imagine being able to do normal things right now – very mentally taxing. Not being able to breathe is about as terrifying as things get.Great numbers Marty! Looks like you are starting to gain some momentum.
So…the the title….I just can’t listen right now.
No numbers this week. I had to cancel sales and close my store for a while.
Why?I am currently typing this on my phone in the ICU on one of the several ventilators they switch me to/fro.
You may remember we were all subjected to Covid in my house a while back….man it’s been a while! Well it didn’t go well for me. My wife also spent two days in hospital and is at home on steroids and oxygen.I don’t know when I’ll get to go home.
Anyways, I share all this because this Jay, Ryanne, this group, is like family to me!
J&R, you changed my entire mentality on material things. You inspired me to build this amazing store that Freed me to:
1:not accept being unhappy in my day job.
2: aspire to use my “eBay confidence” and “FU” money to mold my day job into something really cool through promotions I created.I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for your podcasts over the years. Yours was the single most sincere I’ve ever heard. All great things end and that’s ok!
I’ll build myself up even bigger and better. I can’t wait to get back to posting numbers and conversing on here.
One last comment: GET VACCINATED PEOPLE!!! This delta Covid is SERIOUS for young people. Most of the people in this ICU are young unvaccinated Covid Patients like me. It wrecked my family with even our 2 year old getting a mild case. Please please get vaccinated. I wouldn’t wish what I’ve been through on anyone! Biggest mistake of my life. The reasons I was hesitant are so inconsequential now.

things are bad. Real bad. I’m in ICU. IT SUCKS. I shut my store down and cancelled my sales because I couldn’t ship. Now my wife is in the hospital too. Newborn has to sit formula and loss that mommy connection. She is with mother in law and with other kids at home.
I applied fir short term disability which I pay for at day job. Who know how long until I go back to work.
probabky my last update here for a while until I improve.
Sleeping is MISERABLE! My neck and head are sensitive and sore and it wakes me up constantly. Every night feels like it lasts forever. Even my eyeballs hurt.

Items scavenged 28Well it has been an eventful weekend! First, the good news. We had our baby at 5:10 AM on Monday. She is healthy and doing well.
And now the bad news: My wife and I have Covid. We’ve been careful, social distanced, etc and avoided this crap all this time. One of our midwives brought it into our house this past Thursday. She tested positive on Friday. I started to feel run down on Sunday, and that is when I was informed of her positive test. I feel like I have the flu basically. Fever, cough, body aches. This morning I feel somewhat better but I am sweating like crazy!
To say that dealing with covid , homebirth, and a newborn is tough is an understatement.
On the flip side, if you branch out you will get better at aspects of reselling that you would never improve at staying within your comfort zone.
Shipping nerds are forged in the fire of necessity. Once you panic at the thought of shipping a weird bulky item enough times, it is no longer a major thing.
Broad knowledge first, specialization last is my philosophy.

08/13/2021 at 11:38 am in reply to: For those who like nitty gritty details and efficiency watch this guy #90314No, a year ago he had a video that basically said he pulled in $100k+ net a year. His store is bigger now.
But if he does really have $4k gross sales a day and assume 25% net profit after all expenses then that is $365k a year.
08/13/2021 at 10:43 am in reply to: For those who like nitty gritty details and efficiency watch this guy #90312I checked solds on his ebay store “daily refinement”
He has like 26000 listings, but only showing 46 solds in 90 days??
His partner technsports has 511 solds with a 34000 item store.
In contrast, I have 244 sales that show up on my solds page on a 1534 item store.
So I don’t know what is up with the solds page, but here is a video he did where he live streams his awaiting shipments page. It would be quite difficult to fake that.
I think his net profit is somewhere just over 100k.
08/13/2021 at 8:28 am in reply to: For those who like nitty gritty details and efficiency watch this guy #90306I honestly don’t know why he pushes so hard. I assume he is trying to be like Mr Money moustache and get to the point of retirement in a few years.
I have always told the customer to check with their neighbors and their local post office. It usually turns up or is re-delivered. I also tell them that the post office has a GPS stamp of where they delivered the item just in case the buyer is trying to pull a fast one.
once or twice the buyer has tried to open a case against me and eBay has always closed it in my favor when I upload tracking.
Some people are just perpetually mortally offended. This has become a pandemic greater than covid the last few years it seems.
08/12/2021 at 11:01 am in reply to: For those who like nitty gritty details and efficiency watch this guy #90277He’s strictly used items, almost all clothes. His ASP is like $30 shipped. He is grinding HARD with a goal of like 170 sales a day. It’s all about efficiency. He tracks his listing times and drives each step to the most efficient time.
He pushes something he calls “reseller nirvana” to the subscribers of his patreon stuff. He defines reseller nirvana of having a balance of listing 10 items a day and selling 10 items a day. The paid membership is basically an accountability system with coaching – I assume it is much like this group. Totally unneccessary and he doesn’t use his youtube channel as a glorified advert for the group like other people do.
He’s strictly fast nickel versus most of us going slow dime. That’s WAY too much of a grind for my tastes in my current lifestyle. I couldn’t imagine shipping 100+ items a DAY!!!
Some of those youtube yard sale gopro style resellers really are funny to me. It’s fun to watch them shop, but they always overpay for fear of being beat up in comments for being “cheap”. Then when they share their sold stats their sales prices are LOW and include shipping. I’m like “what are you doing dude? You made $2 on that item after shipping/fees and put in all that work!”
