Looks like 2 lots I am getting will cost me $125 but I’ll sell it all for $600-1000+
The third lot has ALOT of promise. Huge lot of vintage board games and toys from the 60’s. Some of them are very desirable. It all depends on if they are moisture damaged or missing parts. There are at least 5 things there that could sell for $100 to $300 if fully complete.
It such good stuff thought! I’m getting two lots and waiting word back on a third lot that has alot of amazing stuff in it.
He just puts “best offer gets it” on all his posts. Yeah he’s that kinda guy.
I inquired about a couple things. He’s running a blind auction (like I said, he’s a douche). He has some mid century floor to ceiling lamps I inquired about and his response was “someone has offered $45 for all of them”. So I’ll try and play along and said I’d do $50. He also has a large lot of vintage pink luggage I really want as well. Other than that he has some lots where I’d only want a couple things. If I get something I’ll just ask to look at everything and see if I can pick/choose.
If he comes back and says he’ll wait to see what offers he gets I’ll tell him to pound sand.
The mere fact that you are active on this site is proof you are not among the portion of the population that is susceptible to this form of psychological pricing.
It works. Plain and simple.
Same here. I always list in .99 and negotiate offers in whole dollars.
That way at a glance I know what sold full price and what was an offer.05/09/2019 at 2:53 pm in reply to: What Sells On eBay: Retractable lamp, Mustang emblem, Califone Record player, Wicker chairs, Stereo amp, Kitchen clock #61573My interesting sale of the week:

These soccer shoes are made of Kangaroo Leather. I didn’t even know that was a thing!
Apparently the top of the line soccer shoes are made out of kangaroo leather.I sold 7 items from my offers. They are active for 48 hours so hopefully I get a few more.
One of the items I sold I got a cancellation request from the buyer a few hours later. That pissed me off because there were 5 people the offer was sent to. I cancelled and relisted and within minutes one of the other people who were sent the offer made me an offer at the same price I sent them originally. So I immediately resold it.
I didn’t count how many offers I sent, but it was ALOT. Basically every one they’d let me send an offer on I did.
I part out games I buy that end up not having all the parts.
desirable games that have ALOT of parts are the best ones to part out.
I just had my 5th accepted offer this morning. This is great! It’s very exciting to get that instant gratification on items that have been sitting for a while.
Absolutely! I love these small item pipelines. Quantity is the best but I’m fine with breaking large lots of misc stuff into small lots or individual listings. Templates can be used to greatly speed it up.
Last spring I went all in on brand new smart wool socks for $3 a pair. I bought over 200 pair! I only listed 67 total pair before winter hit and I have sold 65 pair. Yep, sold all of them except 2 pair of kids socks!
My gross profit after COGS and shipping on those 65 pair was $602 before ebay/paypal fees.
I still have the other 150 pair to list.
Other small pipelines I’ve formed is doll house accessory lots, legos, and thomas the train engines, and parting out board games.
Wow, that is an amazing haul for $2k!
And it’s like christmas too as you probably don’t know what is in many boxes until you open it, right?
Update. One of the offers was accepted almost immediately. Woot Woot!
I don’t mind if they keep the 30 cent transaction fee, but them keeping the percentage is total crap. I would think that would be worth bring to a state attorney general to see if that is legal to keep the commission on a voided transaction.
FINALLY!
I’m an offer machine this morning. Hopefully I get some sales out of it. Most of my offers are 30%+ discount. I haven’t ever had one accepted before, but I’ve never been able to send this many at once.…or asks for a free water cup at a restaurant and then gets pop instead. My mother-in-law does it ALL. THE. TIME. If she does it with us I absolutely shame her in front of my kids. I want them to know that is NOT cool at all. Honestly its not even the stealing that bothers me as much as the lack of integrity in the situation.
The question I pose to them is “How much is your integrity worth?”. It takes a sad person to sell their integrity for a $1 soft drink… If you’ll do it to save a dollar, what else will you toss aside your integrity for?
