Listing 2023 weekly Avg: 44I got to go to the hoarder apartment. See my post for pictures here:
I ended up pretty busy this week with family stuff but by doing drafts at work and doing photographs every morning before work I was able to get plenty of listing done.
I had sold another pair of shoes for $400 but the buyer never paid or responded to any messages. Why do people do that?? Oh well, they won’t have another chance to buy from me – BLOCKED!
Premium Hoarder update:
Sold 10 items for $1393 this week. Mainly because I started listing the boxed shoes again. Some of them were selling immediately (and that trend has continued this week!)
I spent $3025 buying the rest of the shoes – 121 pair new in box. So now I gotta list some of these shoes to get back into the profit as quickly as I can. I gotta say it will be nice to eventually be done buying this collection so I can actually bank the profits. I’ve spent over $12k…CRAZY! What a ‘side hustle’.

Wow, what a journey J&R!
Did “hardworking big city A/V industry” Jay or Ryanne ever think you’d be where you are now since you quit your jobs and started ebay?
10/10/2023 at 2:19 pm in reply to: Shipping Policy Question: Ensuring Consistent Combined Shipping Discounts? #101319I have multiple items all in the same store category as part of the campaigns.
It’s just that noone hardly buys the other craft items I have in there. Lol!
10/09/2023 at 8:23 am in reply to: Shipping Policy Question: Ensuring Consistent Combined Shipping Discounts? #101308I don’t think so. The volume pricing will apply the discount to the first item as well.
10/09/2023 at 8:09 am in reply to: Shipping Policy Question: Ensuring Consistent Combined Shipping Discounts? #101306I have my art markers set up to have volume pricing discounts AND free shipping if 4+ are purchased. I did it by creating two promotions. Both promotions are applied with purchases of 4+ markers.

Zebra ZM400 Thermal Label Barcode Printer ZM400-2001-0100T USB NETWORK SERIAL
I make a trip through the shipping department every day at my day job to check for bubble wrap. Sometimes it is in the floor in the department and sometimes it’s in the dumpster. As I checked the dumpster I saw their old zebra label machine. I fished it out of there, took it home, tested/cleaned/listed for parts or repair. Sold quickly for full price.

Craftsman 20v Die Hard Boot On Battery Charger 900.1647 With Battery 900.1648
I say this regularly, but power tool battery chargers are almost always BOLO. They can be tested with a multimeter. The batteries can also be tested to determine if they hold a charge.

Polo Ralph Lauren Trench Coat Men’s XXL Beige 50″ Long Belted
Paid $20 at the premium hoarder sale. Took a best offer of $150.
No yard sales this weekend as we had alot of family things to do. My oldest kids do an anime convention every year near us. It has grown to be pretty big.
This year they dressed up as Five Nights at Freddie’s characters because there was an in-character FNAF panel discussion. 2 HOURS of adults (and a few kids) pretending to be video game characters and doing Q&A. It was a packed, standing room only large conference room and I assure you they could have all kept going for many more hours. Man, it was…an experience! Not my cup of tea but my kids absolutely loved it so that makes me happy!
Scavenge of the week was 121 more pair of boxed shoes from the premium hoarder collection.
Paid $25 a pair and I think my ASP on shoes will be over $200.
I bought one of these for $25. (not my item – just a comp on ebay)

I posted my photos of the premium hoarder hard goods in another post. I stuck with the shoes as I was the only buyer for them so I could get a great deal. The hard goods I knew I wouldn’t be getting any amazing deals at this point. I also did NOT want any large heavy items.
Yeah I really wanted the Jade figurines. I would have bought more stuff if the consignment person wasn’t already coming to get the stuff today. Kinda put me in a bad position to negotiate, plus I was already spending all my money on the shoes.
In the back of my mind though I know there has got to be fake stuff mixed in here. My knowledge is so poor on this high end stuff I wouldn’t know a fake unless it reached out and bit me. I don’t know the difference between a $20 junk “jade” figurine and the real deal worth hundreds. I did keep the $25/pair bulk rate on the shoes, but 121×25 is quite a bit. I spent $3100, which brought my total investment north of $12000.
I believe those jade dogs are worth about $275 based on a comp I found online after we had left.
Oh and the clock you mentioned Craig is Tiffany….maybe. Unless it is a really good fake. It was absolutely amazing either way.
The figurines one of the sisters was researching while we were there. Just one canon sells for about $70. They weren’t gonna sell it to me cheap otherwise I would have totally bought that whole set.
The Black/gold tea set in one of the photos is Versace. Just one small cup and saucer sells for $100 on ebay.
I don’t know if there is anyone else buying in bulk. I don’t think there is.
I was invited to the actual hoarder apartment today to look at shoes. I don’t know if I’ll be able to make it as my kids have an event all day. We’ll see if our schedules can line up.
Thanks!
This summer was so much fun! I found so many amazing things at yardsales. I felt like one of the youtube resellers with so many clickbait quality finds. Y’all are my only audience and that’s cool with me!

Listing 2023 weekly Avg: 43Shipping is definitely becoming cumbersome with the increased sales. I’ve been averaging 40 sales per week which is almost double what I usually average per week. I did the bulk of my listing on the weekend. I just had to put my nose to the grindstone and work. This week I will be more consistent listing every day. I already have a draft bank to keep me a day or two ahead. I’d like to hit 100+ listings again to really get ahead in my fall listing challenge. I’m well on track to meet my goal of 1113 new listings in the last 4 months of the year.
Premium Hoarder update:
It was a slow sales week on the hoarder front. I only sold 3 items for $116.
I bought around another 50 items from the premium hoarder collection for $693 ( I never count them). Mostly all jeans/pants this time. Many of them $100+ pairs. A couple new hard goods. Two of the hard goods will make me back $400-500 of the purchase price so yay! One of them was a Deagan Dinner Chime nice in the original box. The other was an Allen Edmonds Leather messenger bag. I also got a pair of new in box vintage Sears harness boots. So those 3 items will earn back almost the entire purchase price. That’s the best way to scavenge when you can buy a whole bunch and know just a small amount covers the whole purchase. I’ve already drafted 20 items from the latest batch for a list price of $2420.
The tentative plan is that they will keep bringing stuff over to the house in my neighborhood throughout the fall/winter and they’ll call me to come over and do a private pick. While it would have been an interesting experience to do a full buyout, this really is better for me. I don’t have to store and deal with EVERYTHING all at once. I’ll have time to get things listed and recoup funds with sales in between each picking session. I get to cherry pick (always a plus!). The downside is the COGS will be higher this way. COGS really don’t matter though as long as the STR and sales price math works out.

Yes the chime came from the hoarder house. The dude had all kinds of crazy stuff! Not all of it makes it out to where I get a crack at it. I’m mainly the “Ralph Lauren” Guy.
Oh and I forgot to share this one:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/266435218628
LW WARDY Black PinStripe Velvet Satin Collar Smoking Jacket Blazer XL Vintage
Also from the hoarder collection. I don’t smoke but I kinda want to lounge around in this badboy with a fake pipe in my mouth.
It’s the second smoking jacket I’ve ever found.
Nah you didn’t say anything negative. I just read it with a negative connotation.
Daily refinement does have good content. If I didn’t have this site to post on weekly I’d be tempted to join them or the CATRP group just so I’d have like minded, goal oriented people to share numbers with.
Why hate on him for selling his knowledge and access?
I’m an engineer – the more skilled and experience I gain the less day to day mundane crap I do. Right now I get to hand off all the daily bs to the new younger engineers, let them flail around a while and make their best effort, then I coach them through to a solution.I’d rather not feed into the negative views of resellers. He runs a legit business, has legit knowledge, and some people want/need coaching. I say have at it selling a class and coaching program!

Vintage Deagan Dinner Chime Model 206 With Box & Mallet
Now this is a cool piece! I priced super high because it is in original box with mallet and in great shape. Comps were in the $200 range, but I had a feeling the solds were only that high because that’s as high as people would list. “When in doubt, moon it out” That’s my favorite new scavenger phrase. I can always take offers after a while.

Polo Ralph Lauren Canvas Barn Chore Fireman Horseman Jacket Coat Red Size XL
A hoarder item. I love finding these really unique ralph lauren items!
