So today I got to go to the hoarder apartment. I bought the rest of the shoes (121 pair) and a few odds n ends.
The place was absolutely OVERWHELMING!!!! They decided to partner with an estate company for all the hard goods. That’s perfectly fine with me as this stuff is really out of my league and not really fitting for ebay.
I’ll eventually get all the clothes. They moved out 40 bins of all NWT clothes this week to the house in my neighborhood so they could get to all the hard goods.
Thankfully my wife took plenty of photos.
here is the album:https://www.flickr.com/gp/77811262@N05/3W2UGy4o29
In one of the photos is a green lighter and ashtray plate on the mantle. It is Christian Dior. That is one of the trinkets I bought just to say I got some of the hard goods.

I love the glimpse that you’ve given us into this wonderful soul’s home and life. This person certainly had a particular style and taste! Your photos are everything I could have dreamed and also beyond my wildest imagination. What a trip!
I don’t know if those soldier figurines are valuable or not (I assume they are, since they were in a glass case) but I hope someone, at some point, plays with them again.
That china set is so distinctive.
Oh, and that clock! I love the dog portrait next to it too. What a good boy!
This feels like the contents of a mansion, like something from a movie.
And you have 40 (!!!) more bins coming. This is going to be the haul that keeps on giving into 2024 I think…

There’s a pair of jade Dogs of Fo on stands, plus another one also in jade. They’d sell.
Those golden dolphins are based on a Victorian street furniture design- supports for a fountain I think.
Lots of malachite and onyx. Pair of lidded famille noire vases on the floor.

Yeah I really wanted the Jade figurines. I would have bought more stuff if the consignment person wasn’t already coming to get the stuff today. Kinda put me in a bad position to negotiate, plus I was already spending all my money on the shoes.
In the back of my mind though I know there has got to be fake stuff mixed in here. My knowledge is so poor on this high end stuff I wouldn’t know a fake unless it reached out and bit me. I don’t know the difference between a $20 junk “jade” figurine and the real deal worth hundreds. I did keep the $25/pair bulk rate on the shoes, but 121×25 is quite a bit. I spent $3100, which brought my total investment north of $12000.
I believe those jade dogs are worth about $275 based on a comp I found online after we had left.
Oh and the clock you mentioned Craig is Tiffany….maybe. Unless it is a really good fake. It was absolutely amazing either way.
The figurines one of the sisters was researching while we were there. Just one canon sells for about $70. They weren’t gonna sell it to me cheap otherwise I would have totally bought that whole set.
The Black/gold tea set in one of the photos is Versace. Just one small cup and saucer sells for $100 on ebay.

Wow, a little opulent for my taste but I love the aquatic creature candlesticks! I wonder if you could get the linens as well as the clothes? I would try to get anything new in the packaging especially.
