How much did you pay for the item and how much did you pay to ship it. Now weigh that against the mounting headache you are dealing with.
I recommend you just tell the lady to keep it and refund her. Let her tear the crap out of the cassette player to get tape back. If this is a vintage player then it could be very likely that a belt broke in shipment. Many of the rubber belts in these older players are already liquid gunk anyways.
My sales have died since Saturday. Is anyone else experiencing a slowdown. I assume it is because people are looking to buy from folks who guarantee Christmas delivery. I have 3 business day handling so I guess that is hurting me.
I’m currently trying to change over all my listings to 1 day handling for the rest of the week. So frustrating that I can only do 200 at a time and the system keeps locking up. Fixing the bulk editor should be at the TOP of eBay’s priority list. Grrrrr…..
I think I would go mad if I stored everything by color! Searching through a tote of all black items for a specific black item? No way.
When I first started shoes I was placing all brown loafers together, black loafers, etc. It ended up that I would have to dump the entire dang tote out and dig just to find the specific pair I was looking for. Even then I’d have to study the label and size just to make sure they were right. I even shipped the wrong pair once because I had two pair of the same shoe but different sizes. Because of the color thing they were in the same tote.
I would highly recommend you stop the color system immediately and do intermingled inventory. A specific black shirt is much easier to find when stored with 10 different color shirts.
I’m registered in my state but I do not use my tax exemption. Most of the thrift stores are not set up for it, and some will flat out refuse to do it. It also attracts an unwanted level of attention.
The only time I really would like to use it is at Home Depot or Walmart for supplies and building materials, but I never do. Those purchases are random and only a few times a year. I think I’ll set a goal for 2017 to start using my exemption.Total Items in Store: 631

I still have a few items in quantity that I don’t think will rebound in time for Christmas unless something drastic happens. It seems everyone is tanking the price today for fear of getting stuck with product.
I did sell 4 books this week for $63 in profit. For those of you who fear the long term storage fee, think of it this way: Those 4 books just covered the LTSF of over 100 other books. As for ebay, I’m working hard to list my coats and jacket backlog. The good news: I have help!!! My wife decided to come on board this weekend. She takes great pictures, and she has agreed to take photos of 5 or so items a day if I lay them out for her and create the drafts beforehand. I’m very much looking forward to getting her more invested in the business so we can be true business partners. It’s a great thing to go into business with your best friend.

It will appear as the destop version of ebay. You can easily add SKU’s this way on the ipad in draft or active listing.

I’ve been buying the nice Nike Golf Dri fit polos off and on for a couple months. They seemed to be good for a $25 sale pretty consistently. When I researched prices last night I was shocked to see that many of these shirts were selling for $9.99 or less! Maybe the time of year is contributing, but that is definitely a steep drop off. I still listed them at $24.99 and we’ll see what happens. I’m not in any hurry.
They are already pretty bad at splitting up shipments. I routinely have to ship to three warehouses – one of which is in California. I just don’t understand why they would make an east coaster stock their west coast warehouse for items there is already inventory for.
Oh and not to mention their tree killing ways with the receipts! I’ll buy one thing and they print out a 4′ long receipt with a few extra “coupon” receipts as well.
I was cleaning a few pairs of shoes on my afternoon break and came across a pair of Allen Edmunds dress shoes that I bought last week. They looked funny, and I initially thought they were just dirty and possibly had shoe trees installed for a long time.
After closer inspection these are shell cordovan!! Yay!!The US Senate has tried to pass bills that would require all businesses to pay sales tax to all states for every online sale. In 2015 they tried to pass H.R. 2775 (Remote Transactions Parity Act). There was an exception in there for small businesses, but if you know how the bill making process works then you know it could get stripped out at the last minute. That bill was not taken up in the house.
I actually had a conversation with my state Senator Joe Manchin about this bill. I recommend that everyone pay a little less attention to what the President does and a whole lot more attention to what your State leadership is doing.
Here is a bit more reading on the subject:
If you are selling a lot of records, do yourself a favor and buy the correct boxes. There are lots of vendors of various size LP mailer boxes.
In a pinch you could just sandwich the record between two stiff pieces of cardboard and tape it all the way around.
Godaddy bookkeeping tells you when you have repeat buyers. Honestly I find it to be a worthless metric for selling random off the wall stuff. You’d have to be highly specialized for that to be a valuable metric.
I have had one repeat buyer this year. It was on an item I had in quantity – price guns. Buyer bought 3 and then 2 months later bought a few more.
Another current trendy storage method is to build a Shipping container pole barn. These can actually be done to look pretty nice. You set two shipping containers on your lot, and then build a roof over the whole thing. You then have the two enclosed container units plus the open area between them to store farm equipment, animals, etc.
There are several variations.
I would assume it was a test run. Noone is going to investigate a $7 pen, but if the card is still good after a few days then they can hit up something bigger.
