#8 Paul Newman.
The rest I totally recognize, but can’t quite place them to a name or a show/movie.

#7 Valerie BertinelliOne last update:
I created a draft in her account on the app, which forces it to her own store.
Now in her account on the desktop it seemingly randomly picks either her own selling page or her authorized user page on my account.I will click “selling” under to main “my ebay” dropdown menu at the top of the screen and I never know which one it is going to load – hers or mine.
Indeed the authorized user cannot see any of your account info. Their selling screen can only see the following:
Active items
Drafts
Ended ListingsIn active listings all they can do is use “sell similar”
In drafts they can edit and delete drafts but cannot make the drafts go live.
In ended listings, they can see all of the following for the past 90 days:
Unsold and not relisted
Relisted
Not Relisted
Sold
UnsoldAh so it appears this authorized user thing does not work in the app – just desktop. If I click on “sell” on her account it will pull up my items with her limited access. She can create listings and use my active and completed listings to “sell similar”. She has full access to drafts as well.
It also appears that she can’t list her own items. All of her selling links load straight into my store.
In the iphone app, the sell page is blank. So she can’t use the app to upload photos to drafts.
I see this was thoroughly thought out by ebay, as per usual…
I created an account for my daughter and set her up as an authorized user.
Great……now how does she actually access my account? There is NOTHING on her account about her access to my account.I venture a guess that this service will be limited to specific products based on the product database they’ve been building. Only proven products would be eligible.
Having said that, I feel like I can barely trust ebay at this point with my data. Trust them with my product too? BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA! No thanks.

New Listings 0SUMMER GOAL: Running total is under pace by $786. Not too bad all things considering. I can still recover.
Needed running total: $6125.00
Actual running total: $5339.00My week was saved by two big sales this weekend. I sold a sweet Ralph Lauren denim & supply cardigan for $140 and a vintage Cleveland Indians Jersey for $200.
Not much scavenging this week. I did pick up a new in box industrial hot dog cooker yesterday that is pretty cool. Paid $9 and they go for $120.
Still no listing going on. I’ve made significant progress reorganizing my garage ebay space and yesterday I repaired the garage door opener that has been broken for several years. I’ve opened the door by hand all this time.
The repair was done in true scavenger fashion. A year or two ago I bought a garage door opener at a yard sale for $10. I was going to just swap them, but I realized my installed opener was belt drive and the replacement was chain drive. I decided to try and repair the existing one. After doing some troubleshooting and opening both up, I realized that ALL of the electronics were swappable. The issue ended up being the starter capacitor. After learning how to reset the limit switch assembly (the manuals and most online help don’t explain this) I was back in business!
The replacement unit was now disassembled and without a good capacitor so I am doing what any good scavenger would do. I swapped/tested the rest of the major electrical components and will be parting out the other unit. I’ll make well over $100 parting out the 2nd garage door opener.07/17/2019 at 8:39 am in reply to: Ebay app: Show us the negotiation history when we get offers. #65057This info is there in the app. When you get an offer there are some tabs at the top of the screen. The last tab is “completed offers”. There you will find all offers along with usernames. It isn’t organized the best, but you can get the general idea of what in the past.
I suppose I should preface that this is on an iphone.
The house payment on my previous 1750 sq. ft. house was $371 a month. Man I miss those days.
At those rates you should totally just buy a house and use it 100% for storage where I live.Amen! I got away from oddball things and threw out a TON of cardboard. I was selling mainly smalls, clothing, and shoes. I have started bring back in the awkward sized things because…well…I like money and these items have higher returns. Now I have a rapidly growing box monster taking up space again.

New Listings 0$265 of my sales was from facebook marketplace this week.
My best sale was scavenger level pro! A couple weeks ago I saw a neighbor had a big pile of privacy fence panels with a “free” sign on them. He delivered them to my house even since they were already on his trailer. I decided not to use them as they were a bit more worn than I liked. I listed them on facebook for $175 and got BOMBARDED with messages. A couple of flakes later the fence panels were gone and I have a free $175 in my pocket.
Still no listing this week. I’m knee deep in a massive overhaul of my garage ebay space that has everything junked up. The end product will be worth it though, even if it is affecting my summer sales goals due to not listing.
I had an unexpected “all in” scavenging purchase Friday. The local Dicks Sporting Goods has a tent sale every summer. Last year they expanded to also have a Field & Stream. Last year I went all in and bought over 200 pair of Smartwool socks at this sale for $3 a pair. I’ve made a ton of money on those so far and still have more than half to list this fall.
This year I spent $280 on high end shoes and boots at the tent sale. Brand new Keen Boots, Justin Boots, and a few Nike and Adidas I’ll do decent on. Many of the shoes will sell for $100-150. I paid $20 a pair for the $150 boots. As I was leaving I noticed a rack of hunting camo that was 75% off. I took a glance, checked my paypal and business account balances, took a deep breath, and warned the cashier I was about to drop a load on him. I cleared the whole rack out.
I got numerous pairs of Scentlok Cold Blooded camo pants that will sell for $150 a pop!
A ton of Under Armour Cold Gear Camo pants, shirts, and pullover jackets. It was all very high dollar stuff that will sell for $50-$100+ per item.I spent $640 clearing out the Camo, so my total spend was $920.
The whole deal was made sweeter because Dicks had an unrestricted 20% off coupon this weekend. The cashiers were shocked at what my final cost was. One commented that I basically stole from them. Lol!
This week, I HAVE to finish the ebay space reorganization and get back to listing.
You know it is quite sad that in a group of “adults” that you even had to deal with that kind of elementary crap, Jay. Kudos to you for taking the high road! Me, oh I have plenty of not so high road things I’d like to say to Mr. Anonymous. I hope he enjoys his massive serving of humble pie when he listens to the podcast today.
I think it is awesome that you are going to a therapist that is helping you embrace yourself and to ditch that toxic stress.
I worked side by side with a coworker who had a studder for 5 years and my reaction to his studder was as you recommended – I just made eye contact and waited and moved on like nothing happened. Why? Because nothing happened! It was no big deal. Noone had to teach me to react that way – it’s just common sense. I would never in a million years even consider making fun of someone or try to “educate” them just to make myself more comfortable over something that person has no control over. This ain’t grade school!
It is even worse than that though, because Amazon is a direct competitor and they frequently undercut private label sellers.
07/12/2019 at 8:07 am in reply to: Seller Makes an Offer to a Watcher and a New Offer Comes in from a New Buyer #64819The last time I bought something with make offer, ebay actually recommended an offer price.
The line was something like this:
“This seller is more likely to accept an of $x.xx ”
I wish I would have screen shot it, as I had never seen ebay make such a specific recommendation like that before.
