What Percent do you see for Cost as a percent of Total Sales?
Not apples and oranges at all. It doesn’t matter if the cost of shipping is in the item price or identified separately; You collect it one way or the other from the buyer and it’s paid to the shipper. The numbers I used came right off the actuals on my Seller Hub over the last 12 months. The sourcing costs are by receipts I keep, as are the cost of shipping supplies. The car costs are just the direct cost of fuel used to go sourcing. The analysis is all PreTax.

Yes, only 4 sold, 3 with 1 bid and another with 2 bids. Barely 1 view per day per item and only a few had watchers. He was happy he didn’t lose his shirt with such huge markdowns, but he learned that things are truly slow and that big markdowns using auctions is no guarantee to boost sales. It might be best to tweak prices to match market trends, and to stick to BIN.
Clearly they are able to avoid the cost of tracking and not get caught. They sacrifice TRS and suffer some negs on Feedback, but it must be worth it. They’ve been selling on ebay since 1999. I wonder if a good many low cost light weight commodity sellers are doing the same thing.

The other one was similar. I don’t think they used an ebay label, just my address on an envelope.Seems you can add your own tracking number on ebay and then the item is marked as shipped in ebay’s system.
It’s true, they are not a TRS.
We buy a lot of things at auctions, and the auction house uses stickers to identify the consignor (usually a number from 1 to 99). These stick pretty good as they do not want them to fall off when the items are being handled at the auction, but they are hard to quickly get off later. We tend to use a heat gun to get the stickers off, usually within a few seconds, but what we need is a PORTABLE heat gun, as an outlet is many times not readily available.

I have been selling on Ebay for 4 years and have 1500 items. I also flip larger items locally, like lawn mowers, snow blowers, saddles, and big tools. We also sell Vintage furniture via Facebook, generally 15 pieces per week. As far as goals, just want to keep adding more to the Ebay store each month to get to anchor level. Anchor level appears to make sense at about 3000 items. We don’t really need the money, but it sure is nice to be your own boss.
We have been selling the furniture out of a 10′ x 20′ storage unit, and just this winter added a second unit. We have a strong following on Facebook, so most furniture sells locally within 2 weeks.
