Thanks Sharyn. Ya, I won’t be removing the leather as I can see it’s not meant to be removed. I only included 2 pics as I did not want to over load the page. It is an 8 transistor radio and I have tried searching the web with all kinds of descriptors for it and nothing. I have tried radiomuseum.org and radioattic.com too. Yes, I am familiar with the “Gilligan’s Island” eight-transistor AR-851 unit. I found and sold one last year. I can’t remember if it had a part number inside, but for sure it did not have one of the outside. There are alot of picture and references to that one on the web do that one was not too hard to figure out. I’ll keep plugging away, but I really appreciate your insights.

Ya, I really don’t know what EBay is thinking on this.
Thanks for your input Steven and your videos. My Wife and I love them, especially the addition of the pets!

Ya, for sure. You are right about that. I’ll let everyone know what I end up doing.
So, turns out the guy actually did have a tracking number. I just arrived tonight and after opening the package, this is the message I sent them. ”
<h3 align=”left”>”I just received a clock back that is completely busted. This is not what we sent you. You can see the clock working in the video on the original listing. Or at least not in the same condition. It has clearly been tampered with. The back was ripped off and the wires torn of their connections, etc..”</h3>
So I had already given eBay a heads up about this situation on Facebook messenger. I just updated them and I kinda want to see what they say and what the customer comes back with. I might refund them minus my original shipping and cost of the item. I have hardly ever have a problem on eBay. I have sold on and off for years and now sell about 1-5 items a day. There is only one other time I can think of that comes close to this. So although it’s a drag, eBay has been pretty great overall.04/25/2020 at 4:29 pm in reply to: Has anyone else noticed Fed-Ex not showing up in shipping options? #76683Here is the latest exchange with Ebay. Email seems to be more of a thing now with Ebay by the way.

Hello Bill,Thank you for contacting eBay. I understand that you need to know why FedEx as a shipping option is not showing up. Let me assist you.
We would like to apologize if we were not able to respond sooner due limited customer service staffing due Corona Virus (COVID19). Rest assured that we are doing our best to address the situation to serve you better. Your patience and understanding are greatly appreciated.
Bill, I have checked your Sceptre E248W-19203R and able to see that FedEx is not showing up. The reason for this is because we hide shipping services that are costlier and are estimated to deliver on the same date or later date than other shipping services on the listing.
Rest assured that, the default shipping service is never removed, including the shipping service shown on search and the service shown to the buyer could change based on their zip code or updated quantity.
If you would like to determine which options are shown to your buyer, you simply need to enter the buyer’s zip code on your listing.
We wish you all the best on eBay and hope your future experiences are pleasant and successful. If you have questions, please click “Help & Contact” at the top of most eBay pages.
I’m glad that I was able to help you with your concern about missing shipping options.
Thank you for choosing eBay. We value your business.
Kindest regards,
Ramil O.

I have done the zip code thing. I selected a farther away zip code and it still only showed USPS even though the shipping would have been $18 less. You can check The one order that I have already processed, the zip code is 60548-1058. When you change the zip code I fall way down in the ranking on price search. Thanks for your help-Bill

“Hello Bill,Thank you for contacting eBay customer support. We understand that you are sending as an email regarding on your concern about shipping option for the buyer and ask for an urgency in getting this issue resolved and I will be glad to help.
We hope that you and your family are doing fine at this moment. As we review the listing, the reason as to why the buyer is just seeing the USPS shipping option even if you include more than one shipping service to the item it is because our system will only provide shipping service to the buyer based on the appropriate service that they can use in which it will less expensive for them. However , your buyer can still use the FedEx shipping service if that their preference all you need to do is to send them an invoice which includes the shipping cost using FedEx.
I hope this information is helpful. Thank you for being the best part of eBay.
Sincerely,
Margie A.

Thanks-Bill04/21/2020 at 9:37 pm in reply to: Has anyone else noticed Fed-Ex not showing up in shipping options? #76598I don’t know. I never heard about that. Interesting. I wonder if the Ebay auto-bot thinks it’s too big and just won’t show that option to the buyer. I was able to change the shipping on that item and give a partial refund to the customer after he already paid. However it’s happening on at least one other listing that is not that bulky of an item? I’m going to keep my eye on this situation and report back if I find out anything more.

02/12/2020 at 6:14 pm in reply to: What is this thing on this vintage Stromberg-Carlson telephone #73927Ya, I tried googling it with Stromberg-Carlson Telephone S-C2500DPM and adding RMB and Memo and came up with nothing. I was thinking some kind of voicemail or call waiting combo, but
I have no clue.Regarding promoted listings; I have a basic store and I am supposed to get a $30 quarterly credit on promoted listings. You really have to keep on top of Ebay as I just found out. They did not give me two quarters worth of credits. I had to call in to get that taken care of. So you have to keep on top of them on credits of any kind. Also it seems like the 10% discount applied to final value fees for top rated sellers comes out to about 5% in reality.
As far as is the Promoted listing fee worth it. I’m like Jay, I’m not sure. I just try to keep it at around $30 a quarter and if I start going over that I pause all my promoted listings.
02/18/2019 at 10:22 pm in reply to: Scavenger Life Episode 398: How To Buy or Not To Buy on eBay #57255Hopefully I’m putting this in the right place. There was a guy on youtube who talked about how to hack the make offer to buyers scenario. Just type in https://ofr.ebay.com/offerapp/sio/createOffer/ *insert item number on end] and Voila. It works even if you don’t have a store, but seems to limit stores to about 5 a day and non-store users to just a couple.
