Thank you jay and ryanne. All of us really appreciate the time and work that went into building a community.
I have always felt that this podcast was the most authentic of anything I listen to. You guys never wanted to be internet celebrities or get rich with ads and sponsors. It was always about the community and that’s what made it special.
Thanks again for all the inspiration
08/27/2021 at 10:17 pm in reply to: Scavenger Life Episode 526: Are You Happy? Do You Feel Trapped? #90485Please please please get vaccinated. I work in the ER where jay and ryanne live and it’s just devastating to hear these stories of sick people when we have really good protection. I’m yet to see a single vaccinated person very sick with covid but I’ve sure as hell seen a lot very very sick without a vaccine.
wishing you the best retro
Did you guys take down your eBay listings for coffee?
Congrats on the store opening.
I greatly enjoyed my croissant and cup of coffee before my shift. It looks amazing and such an addition to the town.
You guys should be very proud.
thanks sharyn.
that is very helpful. I guess I should turn off the offers a few days before turning over to time away.
I don’t think you can do that but would love for someone who might know how to do this to let me know
That’s helpful. I re did all my numbers today and just sent it the accountant so hope it’s sort of right.
If I subtract out shipping and taxes it does not match the number eBay puts on my monthly statement. Does this number on the 1099 need to have final value fees off as well?
hate to break it to you. . . .
I work in Luray right down the street from where this coffee shop is going so feel like the authority on this issue.
Sorry Jay. Have to break with the man code. Absolutely not on the chili dogs. They are terrible in any setting and me sitting in your lovely shop with a delicious cup of coffee and a muffin while the guy next to me is scarfing down a chili dog sounds awful.
One thing that has made Ebay a little more isolated has been the move to online auctions. I really enjoyed going to large auctions and just being part of the crowd. I met and talked with a lot of people there over time and always enjoyed those interactions. Just picking up items after an online auction is just not the same and does feel a bit more isolated.
thanks. may just have to eat the $20 and move on.
asked to give it a few more days so hopefully will make it there.
so we are responsible for the refund. that’s what I thought but pretty frustrating to have to pay for it when not ones fault at all.
I sent a message saying that there has been a lot of delays and lets give a few more days. It was going to LA from the east coast.
definitely listing other items. would have gone insane just listing hats. I have tried to learn about other categories and sell a huge variety of items. Right now store is 20 percent or so books, 50 percent hats, 10 percent art and rest misc.
I definitely went through stretches of lack of motivation. Cleaning, photographing, and listing became an assembly line with my daughter and we got to where we could do 20 per hour. If I was on my own, it was like 12 or so. I am glad they are finished and plan on having income from them for quite awhile (sold a $75 one today).
Thanks for the blog. great inspiration to get the store to higher and higher levels.
