Gross sales: $1,966.71

I’m thinking about starting to sprinkle in higher value items to help boost profits and maybe start doing 5 pieces of clothing a day or something since there’s so much of it out there and it sales for more than hats and patches. I sold a pokemon game for $115 last week and that felt awesome. Found it at a yard sale for a dollar.

I was just thinking about how much money I’ve made from eBay and it all started by selling some stuff around the house then taking that money and using it to buy more stuff to sell. I don’t know that I’ve ever used money that I made outside of eBay to fund this business. It’s gotta be one of the best investments you can make if you’re willing to do the work.
And I just sell similar off my own listings. Huge game changer
Yeah, I’ve got about 8,000 patches listed and 2000 hats. I do 40 patches a day and 10 hats and can get them all listed in 3 8-hour shifts. High volume is the only way to make these two categories work for full-time numbers. The processes are super streamlined though so I never have any stress thinking about how I’m going to get through a death pile or store the items or ship them. It’s all the same day after day and I just listen to some tunes and get my work done week after week.

Net sales total: $973.13About to cross over the 10,000 listing mark! Sales weren’t too bad for me this week but I only did $62 in gross sales on Saturday and I usually do at least $200 so I’m not sure what was up with that day. This was the last week of school for a lot of people so maybe more people were traveling or something. Did $300 on Sunday though so I don’t know… I’m hoping that one day my store will be so huge that I never have a truly “bad” day lol
I don’t track my time super precisely But I know I pretty much never work past 5pm and start working around 7:30-8am and eat lunch and have other interruptions throughout the day. And I did an experiment last week to see what I could get done if I waste as little time as possible and don’t listen to podcasts or anything while listing. I got 280 patches listed in 2 days and 70 hats listed in one day and the hats I finished at 3:30 pm. It’s one of the major pros to only selling two types of items – I create a perfect listing and then sell similar off that listing and all I have to do is upload photos, change a couple things in the title and description and that’s it. That’s how the technsports guy was listing 160 items a day by himself. Now that I know I can get my listing done in 3 days, I’m probably going to go back to working with my dad a couple days a week so I have some more money coming in each month.

Happy to see sales recover from a couple weeks ago. I haven’t went over $2k in a week very often so that’s nice to see and shows that if you just keep listing things will sell eventually and your numbers will go up.
I’ve been experimenting with sending coupons to buyer groups and that has worked pretty good. Sent a 20% off coupon the other day and someone bought over $70 worth of patches from me. Hopefully summer won’t be too slow for me since I sell a lot of hats, but we’ll see.
Congrats on the success with the coffee!

Yeah, unfortunately, when people buy in lots they’re usually looking to pay 50 cents or a dollar a piece for them. Maybe $2 if you’re lucky. I could still make decent margins at $2 a piece if it’s one order but I’m just trying to build a huge store where I sell like 40-50 $5 + patches a day
Lazy susans are a good option as well and you can get a nice wood look with the photos
I think the most valuable one in the lot is worth about $25 lol. But the patch game is all about low-value high volume. I just didn’t think about the fact that it’d take me a lot longer to figure out what the different styles and designs are called but I have learned a lot and have a better understanding of what to look for in the future. I’ll still make 5-10 times what I paid for them it just took longer to list. Almost through them all now

Net sales total: $1,137.67Another decent week. Working on a big box of military patches and it has been hard identifying the ones that are just symbols and don’t have any writing on them. I got a book called the military patch guide and it has helped a lot but it takes a while to find the ones I’ve got. I think I’ll stay away from military patches after this unless I find some that are original WW2 or something like that. Most of what I’ve got goes for less than $5 but I’ve had several people buy more than one so that helps.
Nice amp sales. I sold a vintage fender to a local music store for $600 last year. A friend of mine inherited a house and let me go through it and buy stuff before he sold it so I got the amp for like $10. I’d like to get more into the music stuff but the electrical components are what keep me from going in.
