If you’re shipping under 1 lb., you can use “first class” postage which is cheaper, you just can’t use the priority envelopes for that. Are you looking for the cheapest way to ship something in particular? “First class packages” start in the $2.60+ range. You can also use regular “first class letter” postage, which is even cheaper, but tracking isn’t included so it could count against your “shipping uploaded and validated” stats.
If that doesn’t answer your question, tell us more about what you’re trying to do and we will try to give more specific answers. 🙂The small ones are “flat rate envelope” and the big ones are “legal flat rate envelope”. They used to be the same price, but now the legal flat rate cost about $.30 more.
Groovy baby! Thanks 🙂
Since they were a 3rd party company, I wonder how they did it, and if an individual could do the same for themselves if they wanted to.
boo 🙁 Thanks Ryanne!!
MDC, you can set your returns preferences to auto accept or not based on the reason the buyer gives for returning. So it’s hassle free if it doesn’t fit, they changed their mind, etc. If the buyer selects “doesn’t match description”, or something like that, it won’t auto accept the return.
Ebay can’t show a “hassle free” guarantee on those, because they don’t know ahead of time why something is going to be returned. That’s why you didn’t see it on Jay and Ryanne’s store.
It was hardly a gamble for $1. Lord knows I’ve been wrong on more than a few of those lol.
I’m totally with you! Hoping it’ll give a slight advantage.
Hexidecimal adder!
I doubt I’ll ever see another one of these, but if you see one, GET IT!!
I found one last year at salvation army for $1, and within 24 hrs I accepted an offer of $100. Probably could’ve gotten more because I haven’t seen one on ebay since. Here’s what they look like. It was about 8-10 inches long I think.

Twisted Thrifter.
First class packages are trackable, just not letters.
We have some discussion on it here:
Actually as I understand it, eBay will refund the shipping if the seller sends the item out within the correct handling time. Right?
I’m really glad ebay is answering lots of questions! I sometimes miss these announcements and thought it’d be a good thing to bring to people’s attention to help lessen the freak-out factor when it happens!
Sellers will probably be increasing prices to compensate, right? So maybe we could actually make money on it, since orders wouldn’t usually be late.
I wonder if it’s automatic or if they have to open a case. That seems like a lot of extra work for ebay.
They totally belong in one of those insurance commercials where they make mouths move.
