03/22/2017 at 8:33 am in reply to: Scavenger Life Episode 302: How to Deal with Dreaded eBay Scammers Lurking Everywhere!! #15041
Hello Everyone,
Have a few minutes for a quick post. Last week was on the slow side (about $200.00) but the week before was 1,126.00 (625.00 was a fabric sale).
Running out of good inventory to list so I have been listing lots of clothes. I get Chico’s LOFT and JCrew off a .50 rack at my local thrift store. The items list for 10.00 up to 24.00 not great but for now it’s what I can get. Church sales have started and I did get a few nice items. A venetian glass bowl made in Murano Italy for $10.00 listed for 299.99. Picked a signed R.C. Gorman lithograph paid .50 but that I will keep. Also found 3 yards of Waverly fabric for 3.00, listed it for 199.99. With the church sales and garage sales comingon I am sure to start picking up items I can sell for 30.00 and up. My helper was slow to get started but after a few days she is getting the hang of listing. I can see my store growing which is my dream.02/22/2017 at 3:09 pm in reply to: Scavenger Life Episode 298: The Scavengers and The Collectors, A Love Story #13114Hi Linda,
Yes I love the 2 little church thrift stores located in downtown Coronado. One shop always has a nice 1/2 price rack at the door where you enter. I am located about 1 hour and 45 minutes from STL right on I-70 Columbia, MO. Maybe we could meet at the bins depending on the day? My ebay seller ID is Zeelang1 if you would like to send a message.
02/22/2017 at 10:00 am in reply to: Scavenger Life Episode 298: The Scavengers and The Collectors, A Love Story #13076Hi Everyone,
Feels good to be back on the blog. I was in CA for about 30 days. During that time my store had extended handling time. I had 53 sales while in CA 3 sales cancelled due to the extended handling. Last year I didn’t feel the holiday sales but this year was awesome. Much of my time is spent managing my brother who lives with me and Mother who is 89 years old. So I hired a helper 10 hours at week $10.00 an hour. My personal short term goal for ebay is $4,000.00 in sales per month I am about half way there.Feb 12 – 18

New Listings – 10You will notice COGS is typically much higher than my normal. That’s because I sold a few items I purchased while in San Diego. You typically pay more in San Diego thrift stores even when the stuff is on Sale. My favorite thrift store in Missouri always has .50 clothing racks loaded with all kinds of clothes. Lately I have been putting most of my .50 clothes on Poshmark.

New listings 7Still in CA with Mom enjoying grandkids and warmer weather. We arrived in San Diego on Jan 3rd so far I have sold 40 items from my store. I started out with 30 business day handling now I am down to 10 business day handling. Going to leave it at 10 days until I get home. Extremely pleased with my sales for Jan. In all my working years I have never made money while on vacation. Making money while chillin in San Diego has been amazing. I am ready to take my store to the next level (1500 listings). My longterm goal is generating an extra $4,000.00 per month. Wonder how many listings that will take? I just keep on truckin.

no new listingsHaven’t been able to work my business the way I like to since Dec 16 when I totaled my vehicle on black ice. On Dec 30 I bought a preowned Honda CRV and settled with the Insurance Co. Without going into a lot of detail I will share that after my vehicle was totaled I stood on the side of the road in freezing rain calling 911. I couldn’t get through because the lines were busy from other accidents. I called my church they sent help but I ended up taking off my shoes walking in my wool socks and sometimes crawling on my hands and knees to get home. As I look back I think I must have been in shock? So because of all the trauma I haven’t been able to work my business. Yesterday I finally felt a release from all the trauma and stress. Tomorrow I fly to San Diego where I will enjoy warmer weather and my grandkids. I love the Ebay business and look forward to listening to Jay & Ryanne each week.
Because I will be traveling I wanted to go ahead and post a short video of my $1,050.00. Fabric Sale. Hope that’s ok I know Wednesday is the place for what sold videos.12/27/2016 at 9:54 am in reply to: Scavenger Life Episode 290: Experimenting with your eBay Store #8870Christine thanks for tip I will look for the cluster of thrift stores near Rosecrantz and Pont Loma area.
