Got these as part of an auction lot that I was bidding on for just the tarot cards. Paid $80 for the lot and have already sold the tarot cards for over $400 total. These books I took a best offer of $100 on… so all in all the whole lot sold for over $500 on that $80 investment. Part of the rare punk/metal record collection I bought a few months back. I’ve mentioned before that I went over my normal budget per album of $1 for this lot at like $5 per record because I knew there were hidden gems in there. This one sold for $50. I bought the whole lot for $100 and have over $500 in sales from the lot because of how rare some of them are. More to go! -

I haven’t done sales for awhile, so:
My herbalist chest sold for $375 (I might also make a bit of money on the shipping as it went fedex, so I am not sure of the total cost yet.) Bought for around $100 with fees at the local auction house, I knew that it was a good piece since I had already sold a much smaller example for $125.

I bought a job lot of these medallions at an online auction for $18, and have sold 3 (all FDR) for $20 each. I still have a few pieces so total profit should be decent. Also I was the only bidder, but I am sort of a political junkie and they appealed to me.

While I have many more items listed, this January’s sales has been slower than the previous two Januaries. This week has been the week of the low dollar item sales, which has been a reminder that I still need to seek and list the lower value bread and butter items, as they will add up over time.
My thrift find of the week, which I haven’t listed yet is a pair of J. Crew camel or tan colored leather pants. Other pairs in other colors have sold for $100 to $350. The pair I found will be the only one listed of its color so I have high hopes for it. Purchased them at my favorite thrift for $14.

Here is my favorite sale of the week, because I pulled these out of a dumpster! They were listed for over a year because I guess my initial price was too high. I gradually lowered it every month until I hit the magic number of $29.99 plus shipping:

Most of my sales this week are pretty boring. Here are some other sales that were more interesting this month:
I bought a box lot of random sewing-related items for $10. The lot included these hoops, the rug braiding tools, a few other sewing implements, and a big box of serger thread. When all is done, I should make around $250 off the box.
Along the idea of a “cache”, I bought a box of these glass chandelier panels for $4 at Goodwill. There were 20 in the box, and I have them listed for $9 each, plus shipping. I’ll gross $180, selling them one at a time. I’ve sold 2 so far.
I find these brass candlesticks all.the.time. at Goodwill. I pick them up for a buck a piece, and when I have enough to make a 7 piece set, I shine them up, and sell for $45.
This was from a box of fabric that came with something else at an auction. I was going to throw it away, because it smelled musty. I aired it out for about a week, declared it “good enough”, and sold for $30.
