Amazon disbursement – $809
Full time ebay goal – was March 2018; now – ????Ebay to Amazon experiment – Had 0 sales. Amazon is still a viable option, I just have not sent any items in for over a month. I have about 40 items here ready to send in, I have been relaxing.
About 6 weeks out from baby #2 coming along (another little girl) so I am splitting my free time between nursery prep and mom to be assistance.
I am going to put off making a decision to go full time for a couple of months. I really want to buy/sell full time. I am caught between doing what I will enjoy right now, or waiting and doing it as a side hustle for a few more months before jumping in full time.We live in uncertain times. I know it is difficult, but the solution right now is to wait and see. The election is less than 12 hours old. There is no telling what will happen. It could be any one of 100 different outcomes. When changes do come, then explore your options and move forward. I have not had employer health care in 20 years. There are plenty of options out there, even to those who work for themselves.
Whose to say it won’t get better in the future?
And Jason, there is no such thing as FREE health care. Lol
Before I heard of this blog, I threw away $3,000 in travelers checks that had been signed once. Found them in a storage unit. Never once thought about selling them as a vintage item.
I believe the computer guy said they had a Trojan horse virus. They were able to log into my computer and get on Paypal. They would activate it at 3am. I assumed my anti-virus software was working, but it must have missed it somewhere. I do not know where it came from, I do get some spoof e-mails from Paypal, but I do not believe I have ever clicked on one. Also they were not “removing” money from my account, they would add a credit card (stolen I assume) and send money to another account.
I assume that it just training for the big time. The more quirky events that happen to me now, the better prepared I will be when it is time to go full time.LeeinTN

Amazon is still a viable option, I just have not sent any items in for a month. I have about 40 items here ready to send in, I have been relaxing.
Ebay issues. Got a neutral feedback from a buyer because he had not received his item. Tracking showed it had been delivered. He sent me a message saying someone else in his suite had received the item, but he would not remove the neutral. Called Ebay, got the neutral removed
Paypal issues. I had an item returned back in July, refunded through ebay except for original shipping costs. Buyer opened a case in Paypal and said it was a fraudulent charge. Buyer received the full amount, plus Paypal tacked on a $20 disputed charge fee. I called Paypal and had all the charges reversed except for the $9.99 shipping fee.Biggest Paypal issue. Thursday morning I saw a notification on my phone that I had sent $2,800 to someone through Paypal. I opened my Paypal account and there were several charges going back over a week with amounts from $244 to $2,800. All together they were over $7,000. A mini heart attack ensued. Since I have taken some time off from listing, I have not paid attention to my account. Paypal says my account has been hacked through my computer. The hackers even went into my e-mail and blocked all correspondence from Paypal so I could not see any notifications. Called Paypal and got everything sorted out. Spent 3 days fixing computer. Crisis averted.

FBA changes – my take. First I went to “inventory”, then “inventory dashboard”, then “inventory age” . That will give you an estimate of Long Term Storge Fees broken down per item. Much different than $.30 per item. I sorted by Est LTSF.
I left everything that was toy or game related that I thought might sell well for Christmas. I pulled all the items that I sent in thinking they would sell eventually for less than $20. Examples of items I pulled – vacuum bags, light bulbs, older computer items, cassette tapes, long tail books, dog leashes. All these items I only had a few of each, I bought them only because they were new, and I sent them to Amazon only because they might sell eventually and I would not get charged a storage fee.
In the past I would scan anything that was new while sourcing. I would buy it as long as I could make $5, after all fees, I didn’t pay much attention to ranking. In the future I will pay closer attention to ranking
In the ebay to amazon experiment, the FBA rule changes don’t really affect me. I was already fairly picky when it came to what I was sending in. I did have a few items that the market changed drastically that I was sitting on, so I dropped the prices to current market instead of waiting for the pricing to come back up.
