We’ve not had too many returns but we turned on the “RMA number” required under return preferences. I don’t know if this really makes a difference but we’ve been contacted for every return no matter the circumstances.
Thanks,Jay. Thought I’d ask since I’ve seen it mentioned a few times around the Scav Life forums.
I’m sorry but I’m not sure what you mean by the 1%, though. Perhaps it’s just been a long day…
Seeing the same here. Offer immediately accepted but no payment. What gives?
Thank you evh, glad to know we’re not the only ones with this issue. Received notice from ebay, paypal, etc. about an underpayment.
Stated we used paid for Regional Rate A when we used B. Details further stated the box size we actually used listed dimensions for Reg Rate A box. Huh?
I was encouraged by your positive results from calling USPS and called them a few minutes ago. Well, I wasn’t so lucky. Spoke to very nice customer service rep but she never heard of any problems with eBay issued labels. So, my dispute was merely entered in their and I now await results (in 5 to 15 days).
I’ll try to post here when I hear back from USPS.

-MegThanks for the info so far, Scavenger Lifers. I only think about fungal fears ’cause my hubby was a micro & molecular biological researcher in a “past life.” So, I’m constantly dealing with [someone else’s] OCD’s, which include cross-contamination, diseases and the overabundance of fungal spores.
Of course, his feelings are funghi are EVERYWHERE and the only solution is strong bleach or something called an “autoclave.” I’m looking for a more practical approach and am typically leary of the random info I’ve been seeing as a result of internet searches.
Also, I don’t feel right about leaving is as “buyer beware” situation. I prefer the philosophy of not selling items I wouldn’t buy myself.
Cheers!
MegPerhaps both. Not sure where to begin but know there are plenty of great, sellers (and scavengers) here. Thank you.

Who else could rant about those selling “get rich quick” books and then pontificate about liability insurance in the same podcast (#188)? 😉
03/28/2018 at 7:53 pm in reply to: buyers to see total cost: shipping + item cost (no math required) #36552Sorry. Didn’t mean to mess things up and post in the wrong place. I thought I did but I’m still learning my way here. I guess I should quit multi-tasking (listening to old Scavenger Life podcasts while editing photos and then listing them on eBay…).
03/28/2018 at 7:43 pm in reply to: buyers to see total cost: shipping + item cost (no math required) #36548I agree, I like seeing a separate shipping cost, too. I’m sorry I wasn’t clear. I was thinking of three numbers can be shown: item cost, shipping cost and the total cost.
By the way, I’m always repeating one of your phrases around here: “free shipping is a lie” ’cause I’m not convinced buyers really know what it costs to ship an item. Of course, it might be because we live on the edge of the U.S. and 90% of our packages go to Zone 8!!
03/28/2018 at 7:16 pm in reply to: buyers to see total cost: shipping + item cost (no math required) #36546Thank you, Jay. That’s right, Amazon doesn’t do it either BUT wouldn’t this be [another] nice way for eBay to differentiate themselves and rise above all others? Hmmm…
