The base looks homemade, the ups logo is crooked and the wood is pretty rough.. I think it might be a homemade trophy for an intramural Local ups softball team…just a guess…
I’m sitting in the First Class lounge at Logan international airport reading about dumpster diving! Too funny…I lucked into a free(almost) trip to Italy! It’s a story for another day, but my town has a “take it or leave it” shed. I go to the dump every day, and swing by the shed. I probably find 3 or 4 items a week to list.. best finds have been 3 boxes of legos, sold for 300 dollars, a 1902 mandolin sold for 60, and tons of 10 dollar items.. there are dozens of people who scavenge daily there, you just have to be lucky and be there when no one else has picked before you.
I’m a Norwood boy.. I heard that u were in Dedham, thought maybe that’s where u grew up. I’m listening to all the old pods, u have changed my vision of eBay. No more little 5 dollar items, I’m listing some of my good stuff for the long haul. I’m in Franklin every week, so if u need a photo of the town center or something let me know. Brian
Hi Jay, two guys, packages in arms, labels printed at home, both uncomfortably slipping past the Saturday morning line at the Norton Ma Post Office. We nodded as we piled our packages to one side of the bored postal clerk and we both at the same time said “EBay?”…. we chuckled and talked for a minute and he mentioned the podcast. He said I would like it, and he was right.
I own a small business and my son just came to work for me. I need to supplement some income and have decided to ramp up my eBay activity. Your podcast has changed my plan. I have never thought about long term listing. I have always thought of a listing as a 30 day limit, and always discounted after that. I’ve sold a lot of stuff for a lot less than I thought it was worth because of my self imposed time limit. Thanks for opening my eyes.. more to come after my vacation next week..Brian
