Completely agree with you T-Satt. Sales are part of the retail world simply for the reason that they work, so why would you want to limit your stores(us the sellers) how often you can do them.

I agree they are a bit of a gimmick and was actually reluctant to use them at first but my sales went up once I did. My guess is that there are a lot of buyers out there who also like promos and they get it that it is a game but it is one they like to play as well. So for the past 6-8 months I have been a heavy promo user. Now I need to rethink the whole game.
Happy 4th week everyone.
07/01/2018 at 6:40 pm in reply to: Tracking Uploaded and Verified Bug Messing Up Guaranteed Delivery Performance #44154I did finally get an ebay for business rep to finally reply. Others have probably already heard a version of this but fwiw:
“sorry to hear about everything you’ve gone through this last week. It is never our intention to add any extra stress to our sellers. It’s already a big job managing your business. Thank you so much for taking everything in stride and working to get it all back up and running.
Please know that any update or change we make always have the seller in mind. By waiting 2 weeks between price adjustments on an item is showing the buyer a true “was” or previous sales price. Our goal is to be transparent with buyers which in turns builds loyalty and confidence in the platform. If something is always in sale, it’s not truly discounted”
She is mostly responding to my complaint about losing the promo sales tool. Gotta love the ‘transparent’ goal.
07/01/2018 at 6:24 pm in reply to: Tracking Uploaded and Verified Bug Messing Up Guaranteed Delivery Performance #44151I am afraid to look.
I received an email from them this morning saying they tried to call me but my phone number is incorrect(it’s not) and that if I want further assistance to click the Help link etc. I really don’t believe anyone knows what is going on with all the glitches and unusual stuff happening. I have turned on 2 factor authentication so hopefully that will keep me safe from something really malicious.
ditto to all the above. Seems the ebay interweb gods are testing us big time.
good lord, ebay, why why.
@ebaymom, I have been using that same strategy for many months now and it was effective. Really really annoying that they took that tool away. My new game plan may involve a different platform.
Okay, I am just off the phone with ebay customer service hell. Spent over an hour and they are going to do nothing. They seemed totally clueless about the issue. I only have a premium store so maybe that was a factor, maybe not. What a waste of time.
trash_elf_dev,
I will take one and send the bill to ebay.Just checked and my 77 listings are still missing photos. Also the sales promotions are not working – nothing populates. Not feeling a lot of love for ebay tonight.

I had an okay week. Per ebay my sales are 31% above a year ago, which is probably due to the last few weeks of listing a lot of stuff. I agree with others that ebay wants sellers to go the direction they have mapped out. I will definitely be done with this little venture if/when the day comes I am forced into the cut price lower lower, free ship free return model they seem to be pushing. I tried etsy briefly and have 5 things listed on poshmark but for me it is too much to keep up to multiple platforms. Altho after this recent missing photo mess I may need to reconsider. I hope everyone has a good week of scavenging and sales.
I feel your pain AtomicStar, I checked and I have 77 listings affected. I recovered photos for 35 of them using Joe’s tip – thanks Joe. It works but it is somewhat time consuming so I am going to stop and give ebay some time to clean up the mess they created.
Yep, same here. Only returns 1 photo. I have over 100 listings w/o photos. Hopefully ebay is going to fix this mess soon.

I had a good week of sales and spent a lot of time sourcing and listing. Hopefully it pays off down the road.
Another great podcast and I am wondering if anyone here has had their store taken down by ebay for a vero offense? I believe the caller said you are allowed 3 times and then you are banned for life. Is that correct?
