Number of items listed this week: 32A little late to the show this week but enjoyed the podcast and glad you are feeling better Ryanne. Below average week for me thanks partly to a couple high value returns($230 ttl) – both of which I felt the buyer was a little ridiculous and possibly taking advantage of free returns. I have offered 30 day returns for any reason for a long time now and I did reluctantly opt in to the free returns when that was rolled out as well. My sales overall are up significantly compared to last summer but I don’t think it is because of the free returns. One thing I notice on my returns is that the buyer will often email me before starting a return to justify why they are returning the item. Sometimes this is warranted and I appreciate it but a lot of times they will make stuff up and then make a INAD claim – all this after I have told them that my policy is 30 days for any reason. I suspect buyer’s remorse and maybe some kind of need to place the blame on ebay & seller could be in play here. Who knows.
Happy sales and scavenging everyone. 4th qtr is about here.
08/27/2018 at 2:31 pm in reply to: Where Is The "Ship From" Option On The New Shipping Page?! #48066The only thing I like about the new shipping page is that it allows you to go back to the old page. Maybe there is a place on the new one to do what you want but the old layout seems a lot more friendly to me.

I decided to go all in on the promoted listings last week and it may have paid off. My ad fees were $54.25 but I got a decent bounce in sales so probably worth it. Also got a couple of return requests and one was for the $179 clock of which I sold as “untested selling as is” – so of course the buyer starts a return saying it is defective and does not work. Not sure what is going on there.
I hope everyone has a good week of scavenging and sales.

Number of items listed this week: 42Not a bad sales week for me and I have been busy sourcing and organizing for fall/winter. I am a little behind on scavenger life blog and comments but have been keeping up to the podcasts, which are always informative and entertaining. Wishing everyone a good week of sales and scavenging. The summer days are going fast.

Number of items listed this week: 15Enjoyed the podcast. So so week for me. Seemed slow but not that terrible once I looked at the numbers. With all the issues on ebay the last few weeks, I am now trying Wonderlister – mostly for a backup and it sounds like it will have some cross listing functionality so might try that down the road. Happy scavenging and sales everyone.
I checked a few of my listings and yes the item specifics are all gone on certain categories. Looks like they have disappeared on mostly my men’s shirts category.

Number of items listed this week: 26Enjoyed the podcast and great reporting Troy. Pretty slow sales for me last week. I turned down a lot of low ball offers and seemed like a lot of buyers were only wanting rock bottom price, which caused me to actually remove best offer from a few items.

Number of items listed this week: 11Seemed like another slow week but really not bad thanks to a couple of higher dollar sales. Enjoyed the podcast. I have not found any good auctions near me yet but I can see their sourcing potential. I have used the new shipping page a few times and so far am not impressed. Looking forward to hearing about ebay Las Vegas happenings. Happy scavenging and selling everyone.
Thanks T-Satt! I have to give credit to this group on sourcing that one. I sort of mimicked the yard sale buying strategy of Steve and other pro scavengers here. The guy had the usual junk and I was about to leave but started talking to him & casually asked him if he had any old cameras, since I have had some modest luck with them in the past and am kind of on the lookout now, anyway he dug out a couple of old point and shoot and the Yashika was one of them. Ask and ye shall receive.

Number of items listed this week: 14Enjoyed the podcast and good luck on the new venture. Another slow week for me with the one big sale that pushed my numbers way up. I don’t hit many home runs but that was definitely a big one – $2.50 yard sale find & sold in 3 days.
Wishing everyone a good week of sales and scavenging.
I got a similar message about an hour ago printing pack lists and usps labels. Some kind of glitch on their end is my guess – after a few tries it did print them for me.

Notable sale would be a LL Bean polo shirt which sold for $20 and was one of my listings w/o photos. I think I have all of them restored now but was surprised to see this one sell with no photos. Also glad to see ebay has reversed the decision on the 14 day restriction on sales promotions.Overall another down week for sales but still made a few. Enjoyed the podcast and I hope everyone has a good week of scavenging and sales.
pythonesk, Sorry I am a little slow. Thanks for the tip, I did do what you said and 3 days later someone did reply but so far no offer of compensation.
After last week, I feel the same as you Retro on questioning the entire ebay biz. If we want to stay in there not sure what we can do except try to adapt and figure out what will work going forward.
My hat is off to you ebay mom. 5 kids and running an ebay store. Wow.
And glad you are feeling better. -
