They work great and they give you more useable space than any other option since they use the exact dimensions to maximize the volume, and they use a single wall box. However, since they are so expensive, they have a limited set of uses where they make sense (and depending on how much you value your time).
One time I can remember where it was more than worth the 90 cents or whatever, we were shipping a whole ton of assorted cosmetics. they were too fragile to not put inside a box. we were able to just barely fit them into the scotty stuffer. I want to say the package weighed 3 lbs or more. I guess you can say we saved at least $3 including the cost of the scotty stuffer assuming we could have used a Regional A box instead.
I’ve heard people say that eBay contacted them and told them to use correct dimensions/weight next time. Haven’t heard of anyone having to pay the difference or otherwise be penalized.
Hi, I was able to print from my iPhone to my Zebra printer through a Windows 7 machine using this info
However: a) it’s very difficult technically; I don’t think most people would be able to do it and b) at least with my configuration, it doesn’t actually work for printing labels because the iPhone doesn’t have enough smarts to set the margins, etc. correctly (and there aren’t any printer options like you have on a computer). It does print perfectly to my laser printer though.
>It’d be weird if we could have a whole conversation and then you go back and edit your part to make the whole thing confusing.
Facebook does it by marking the post as “Edited at xx:xx pm” w/ a link that shows you the revision history.
Reddit does it by marking the post w/ an asterisk to denote that it’s been edited. Reddit convention dictates that you annotate your post like “edit: fixed a spelling mistake” if you make an edit.
Sites that don’t allow editing end up w/ a lot of self-replies to correct things.
Not sure what you forum software is capable of.
The option to edit only appears for a short amount of time (maybe 10 minutes)? After that, it goes away.
@Jay actually I do have an edit option on that last reply. However, my earlier replies in this thread do not have that option. I don’t have a delete option on any of them.
Do you see these? Or am I just seeing them because I’m an admin?
I don’t see these options
I think the best way to do that would be to cancel the sale and then re-list the item w/ the requested shipping service. The other way you could do it is simply have the buyer send the extra money via PayPal but that’s risky and against eBay rules.
It’d be better to offer free, economy shipping as the default option for your listing and a secondary option of calculated, expedited shipping when you list
I’m not sure (didn’t check) if they have any other customizations to the php/html that you’d have to mimic or otherwise sort out, but here are the css files the angry birds site is using. If you can somehow create a mirror of the site you can test changes on w/o messing up the live site, you could just plug these in and see if/how they work:

This would help out a lot:

Hi Ryanne,
I played w/ the CSS and have some recommendations, or at least pointers to where you might change things. I’ll email you the nerd codes.

After:
First, wrap the item in a bag. This is to prevent a) styrofoam from getting inside it and b) to protect it in case your package gets left in the rain, put in a leaky shipping trailer, dropped in a puddle, etc.
Next, bubble wrap the item. Big bubble would be better, but a few layers of small bubble will work too.
Then, find a box large enough to fit the item w/ at least ~1 inch of space on all six sides. Put about a 1-2 inch layer of packing peanuts in the box. Place the item in the center of the box. Fill the box w/ peanuts until slightly overflowing. It’s important that you overfill w/ peanuts because the item will be able to shift around if you don’t. Close the box and shake it to make sure the item isn’t able to move around.
Finally, seal the box w/ tape.
I think using styrofoam for shipping electronic devices (especially heavy ones and those w/ mechanical components – DVD players, etc) is essential because they are easily damaged by shock. Bubble wrap helps protect items from impact, but isn’t so great at reducing G forces when packages are jostled or dropped. Keep in mind that your package *will* be dropped, thrown, and otherwise “abused” during shipping.
