The counter rates are going up about 4% on average but online rates are going up by 6%. However, the flat rates are going up 9-10% and certain other rates like first class package 15.9 oz are going up more, ~15% in this example.

Ashlin Hadden – Voldico InsuranceSmart Post shouldn’t have any dimensional weight charges, however very large packages (length+girth > 108″ I think) may have surcharges. Also, FedEx is supposed to be adding dim weight to smart post in the near future – not sure if it will apply to eBay though.
Here’s a better dimensional weight calculator. If you set it to parcel select and you see oversize or balloon surcharges, you may end up paying extra for smart post.
Ebay’s shipping calculator isn’t always accurate w/ fedex and large packages. The FlipperTools FitShipper calculator uses eBay’s calculator for Fedex in the back end, so if eBay is wrong, the calculator will also be wrong. (FYI, I run FlipperTools.com)
Mike: glad you like it 🙂
Beverly, USPS only charges dimensional weight for Priority shipments to zones 5-9. You can see here:
Change the zone to 5 and you will see the billing weight jumps from 9 to 12 lbs.
Undu is naptha – a.k.a lighter fluid. You can buy zippo or ronsonol lighter fluid at most grocery stores, walmart, etc. Home improvement stores will carry naptha by the gallon in or near the paint department. There’s no particular reason not to want it in your office, at least in small quantities.
07/20/2017 at 4:34 pm in reply to: Scavenger Life Episode 319: Being Adults, Making Decisions #20560There’s a really good podcast on the beginning stories of many popular companies called “How I Built This” – it’s very interesting. One of the episodes is an interview with the founder of Toms which offers a lot of insight into how the company’s shoes became so popular –
Are the regular prices from Snap Ship the same as on PayPal?
You have selected First Class Large Envelope. Make sure First Class Package is selected instead. If that doesn’t work, post a screenshot.
I can write chrome extensions
You should use FitShipper.com It does everything Stamps.com does and more for eBay sellers, but it has better Priority Mail rates and only costs $5 to $8 per month.
05/31/2017 at 5:30 pm in reply to: Seeing more sales from Int'l buyers shipped to domestic addresses #18843Specialized freight forwarders can ship items much cheaper because they bundle the shipments of many different people to the same country. My grandfather lives in Ecuador and uses a service in Miami to forward anything he needs shipped to him from the US.
04/17/2017 at 12:27 pm in reply to: Scavenger Life Episode 306: We Love Flea Markets and Craigslist #16710it would be interesting for you to interview your assistant on your podcast
@lbt606 – cool idea!04/12/2017 at 4:56 pm in reply to: Scavenger Life Episode 305: The Biggest Transfer of Wealth in Human History #16518Maybe if you could select your previous labels and ask to combine on one Scan Sheet.
@T-Satt : not through eBay labels
@Ryanne : Just FYI, FitShipper Labels will let you create a scan form whenever you want (as long as the shipping date on the label hasn’t passed.)The software sets the default ship date for you in a pretty smart way (after 4 PM on weekdays or 1 PM on Saturday, the shipping date defaults to the next USPS business day), or you can easily set it manually. For example, if you were printing a label at 5 PM on the Saturday before Memorial Day, the shipping date would default to the following Tuesday. So, you could print labels Saturday through Tuesday, and then on Tuesday you could select all of those packages to add to a SCAN. You could print more labels after that with the ship date set to Wednesday, etc.
Mike, glad you like the FlipperTools site. I’ve been meaning to do something like this for a while and your comment reminded me. So, here is a flowchart for the various dimension based surcharges. I need to double-double check that everything is correct, but I think it’s there or close:

Anyone see a mistake? Let me know!
