I had one this morning. The item was an 18 1/4″ tall metal urn-vase.
The message read could we convert the 18-1/4″ into a “German Metric number”. ???
I replied didn’t know Germany had a different metric system than other countries on the metric system??
I converted it for her on an online calculator in about 3 seconds, sent her the link to it and asked for her to double check us and another link to a Wiki page that said Germany went to the Standard Metric system in 1876.
At least she didn’t ask me what shade of red it was.

To clarify one does not “take” the database with them. Our home office desktop stays on 24 hrs. 7 days a week [except when I do clean up and maint. on the operating system]. But the desktop is always on. We use “Team Viewer” for remote access just like many technicians do.
We have Teamviewer loaded on 3 rigs. When away to trips or vacation I take my lap top with me, turn it own, open TeamViewer, enter my master password and I am instantly connected to my office desktop. It works just like I was sitting in front of it. I even have 2 monitors on the office desk top and all I do is toggle between the two on my laptop.
Now the surprise. Because we also have SixBit loaded on another rig in our office [yes we have two workstation in our office area], if I so choose to leave both of those running 24 / 7 our helper can open her personal laptop which has TeamViewer also loaded on it. She opens her TeamViwer and enters her password and BOOM she is now logged into the other office laptop. That laptop runs simultanesously with the office desktop. So she is going to Alaska next month and she can tie into the 2nd laptop and work on SixBit. I can sit here at my desk and watch her computer screen-mouse move as she works on it and I can continue to work on SixBit on mine and they don’t interfere.
Now if I take off on the road while she is still in Alaska working, all I do is open my TeamViewer, log into my rig and VIOLA! we are both working on 2 office computers from 2 off site locations thousands of miles apart, yet SixBit is working just like if we were sitting back here at the office side by side. Fully functional database operation. All our photos are stored on a 4 terrabyte external hard drive Drive F: Either one of us can be loading photos if we choose or creating brand new entries from any blank templates we have store.
The database never leaves our office desktop which is always here in our office. That 3rd personal laptop of our helper doesn’t have to have SB on it because she access the office laptop from her rig using TeamViewer once logged in.
Many newer guys to SixBit can gain a lot of insights into what SixBit can do by going to Google and searching for the Ebay open last year in Las Vegas and searching for SixBit, and searching for SixBit Demos on YouTube and participating in the SB forum instead of here on SL. No offesne, but so many questions have already been asked and answered on the “real” SB forums that you can find almost anything. And if not, then ask on there and you will find hundreds of users of SixBit only that can answer your inquires.
I would take a guess there are not more than 10 or so [just a guess mind you] of SL members who use SB and or WonderLister and or Ink Frog. Also SixBit technicians Steve Leah, JC Ryan, Dustin Sherburne and even at times John Slocum the founder and owner will chime in. Can’t get a better source for answers thaan that.
But I suggest give the SixBit forums a try. Also you can get a glimpsee of upcoming news.
Good luck..

I agree Liz. Think you are spot on. Why tempt fate. We too have had a few over the years but did not repeat the same items and mistakes agagin. Each time was for a new and different item and each of those cases we just didn’t know, so they informed us with their VERO letter.

Country Lane: SixBit does 3 platforms and is in Beta Testing for a 4th.
T-Satt and I use the Duo edition which allows the Ebay Platform then you can select if you want either Amazon OR Etsy but not both. Troy and i have Ebay and Etsy shops so that is how we have it set-up and also we have 2 other work stations for helpers to tie into the server which is on the desktop in the main office area.
SB basically takes our Ebay listings and posts that same listing on Etsy right after we post it on Ebay. There is a small amount of manual tweaking to do because their are a few dis-similarities between Ebay and Etsy and there is nothitng that can be brought over automatically. But that does not take more than half a min. to get done.
SixBit now has it’s Shopify Interface Module in Beta Testing and that will be added soon once it is de-bugged. At that time we will be adding our Shopify Store into the mix and we will have SixBit co-ordinating everything for all three platforms. I talked with SixBit 2 years ago and stressed how Shopify would be a good add and even shared how WonderLister was doing it. It just took SB a while to get around to all the coding that was needed.
The main reason I stress Shopify is even though it is not a selling platform, thus doesn’t bring customers to you, you have to generate your own through correct SEO and Social Media Marketing, it provides a complete back-up of your whole store, every item, and if Ebay or Etsy ever pulls a stunt or you get caught in a big policy change like Etsy new FORCED FREE SHIPPING change [kinda], then as a seller I will have the Shopify store already going. Think of Shopify as a way to save your whole store, payment gateway, prices, photos, description, everything in a great store front on the internet and the domain name, policies about how you conduct your business, what and how and who you want to ship to, everything is under your control and you control your feedback, no listings pulled down, etc., etc.
So having SixBit completely stock my Shopify Store and have my complete store lock stock and barrel backed up and functioning is worth it to me. And SixBit will use your one Ebay listing to populate the other two and also delete sold items from the 2 sites where the sale did not take place, so you don’t have to worry about selling something that is already sold.
Then on top of that you get a complete financial break down of what has sold, where it sold within the Finacial reports section. And troy has SB set-up to handle all of his shipping through a 3rd party that is less costly than Ebay. I think he has Pirate Ship set up but unsure because I think he was going to change that.
In any case, yes SixBit does eveything you say, and much more. Variations, multiple quantities, free scheduled shipping, auto end and auto re-list items to keep them fresh and a lot more.
BUT it comes with a cost. SixBit’s Duo version which we use [Two Stores handled by SixBit is first month free trial then $99.99 per month from then on. And when they get Shopify added and working then that will most likely be called the TRIO version and was told that 3rd store module would be adding maybe another $25 to $30 bucks to the total price and then having a Shopify Store runs another $29.99. So for 3 stores to be synched and run by Sixbit and with the Shopify store it will be about $159.98 per month. Then if a seller gets large enough to upgrade Ebay from a Premium store to an Anchor store that difference will have to be added.
But as i said, that Shopify store is a safe guard. Think of it as a “Safe Depsoit” box for your complete store. And as time progresses you will be building customers and traffice to your store via Google and all the other various marketing mediums.

Amen RTWV. Jay, I whole heartedly agree with what everyone has said. People like that can just go pound sand.
There are a couple of other YouTubers and PodCaster ladies whose voices are so high and schrill it hurts my ears to listen to them, thus I just don’t listen anymore. He should just do the same if it bothers him, go away, it is his problem not yours.
And again, one of those “anonymous” people that I have mentioned before that used to get on here and take exception to everything everybody was saying, not listen, criticize all of us who were just trying to help and they all hid behind the “anonymous” banner. I am glad Ryanne stopped any one from signing up using the “anonymous” name. Even with an alias handle name, and only one person that can use that name, keeps an eye on that sort of thing.

Welcome back Mark and thanks for the tip. Don’t think we have watched before but will check it out. We did start watching one that was close to an X-Files type of show but can’t remember if this was it or not.
Many things do film in Atlanta. One used to film out at the antique mall where we had our booths. Pain in the butt when we were trying to be moving stuff int our booths and they wanted the whole mill to be “quite” as they filmed plus they took up all the parking with their trailers.
Many people around Atlanta are always on casting calls to play extras for a few side dollars. I believe Julie here on SL is someone who plays some extras.
I will check the show out and check out the shoot location. Something maybe fun to do on a weekend.

Another quotable Quote for the Archives, …. “Grumpy Buyers are Grumpy!” 🙂
That’s probably it AF. If Ebay has “approved” grading services and PMG being one of the bigger and more established and respected you may have hit the nail on the head. The algorithm just picked it up as something suspicious, couldn’t make sense of it and killed the listing.
So maybe a little work on the title like Lincoln Wheat Penny Collectible Coin Dated 1932 Graded Slabbed by Numistrust Co [80 characters] or some such variation to get a few key words in there like Lincoln, Coin, Graded, Collectible, etc., etc. Repost and it will fly like a champ?
Good luck Ryanne…

Antique could have been right except that a search of the top 5 or 10 coin grading companies does not have a first party grading company by that name.
But another search for 3rd party grading companies and there is one called ….
NGC – Numismatic Guaranty Corporation of America – P.O. Box 4776 – Sarasota, FL 34230
and a 2nd one called
NCS – Numismatic Conservation Services, L.L.C. (a division of NGC) – P.O. Box 4750 – Sarasota, FL 34230
and a 3rd one called…
NTC – Numistrust – 7154 N. University Dr. Suite #210 – Ft. Lauderdale FL, 33321-2916So a company by that name does exist.
Here is the link I found and there seems to be a lot of them in the 3rd party classification.
Maybe Ebay has had some fakes or unreliable grading from the 3rd party companies and have them on some sort of list due to mistrust or too many complaints.https://www.bestcoin.com/Rating-Coin-Grading-Services.htm
This link is a list of companies surveyed by a higher ranked company trying to get data on standard grading procedures within the industry and of course they included 3rd party ones to see if there processes were reputable and consistent with industry standards.
I don’t think 1932 would be a grading number. Some companies I have seen in the past grade from 1-10 or 1-100 but to have a grading system that goes up to 1,932 would seem out of line.
Now you have the address you could actually call the company and see if they can shed any light on the actual coin [the 1932 may be some type of inventory control number] for them. Once you have the data, when you call Ebay you can clue them in.
As Antique Frog says it’s a wild haired guess at this point.

Ryanne, in any case. I believe in the old saying that knowledge is power. You are an anchor store, so give them a call and ask, hey what’s up, educate me so I know in the future. What if you had a whole collection of these and the only difference was the dates and-or condition. You would create one, then duplicate the listing 50 times and the edit the dates and list.
Then, you would have 50 listings with the “Error” unknown to you and you would have 50 listings killed. So, I would call and ask.
Just my opinion.

Weird.. But just an observation. How is it that you normally list from the USA and should be on the USA main site platform and the listing is showing a British Sterling pound amount? Never seen that on any of our listings.
Next the US dollar amount of $124.99 does not equal $95.90 it equals $99.41 but I would think that is some sort of an internal Ebay calculated amount error. At lest according to a quick Google online currency converter calculator.
The title seems OK and does nothing more than just states what it is, and that info. is also actually printed on the item, so don’t see a problem there.
In you own words, give Ebay a call and see what they say. If you got this posted on the United Kingdom site, then shows it ships from the USA as a point of origin? Were you doing some research on the United Kindom platform, then got an item listed on there? Worth asking so you can watch out for it in the future.
Other than that, who knows???

07/12/2019 at 2:29 pm in reply to: Scavenger Life Episode 418: Brick & Mortar Store Is Not For Us #64826Simon: I noticed the word “Turbo-Lister” in the link string you attached. Turbo Lister was an old offline listing program that was abandoned by Ebay years ago. It used to be a way to gang list items and track and control inventory after BlackThorn was abandoned.
Turbo Lister got so clunky and outdated, Ebay gave up trying to patch and fix it. It was a mess, but a user could create scheduled listings with TL.
About 7 or 8 years ago, part of the BlackThron employees left Ebay and formed their own companies. Chavi Rogasti formed WonderLister and John Sloan formed SixBit both of which are used by members here and talked about a lot.
Both of these programs offered a transition from TurboLister users over to their programs for those still left on the abandoned TL.
WonderLister and SixBit both offer free scheduled listings and is a feature Troy [T-Satt] uses regularly. Using scheduled listings within SB is a way to end each of your listings at a set day and time, then have SB auto re-list and upload and re-set for another specified time frame.
Some people still end listings every 30 days and other every 90 days, etc., etc. Using these 3rd party apps still allows a seller to do that even though Ebay has stopped those time frames and made eveything all GTC. With SB you can still start, stop and auto re-list in any time frame you want AND it is free. No charge for scheduling anything in both WL and SB.
07/12/2019 at 8:35 am in reply to: Seller Makes an Offer to a Watcher and a New Offer Comes in from a New Buyer #64821That’s cool RTWV: I have never seen that before. That would help many of the new buyers from thinking that 50% thru 75% is a great first offer and don’t understand that too low is too low. I know as a seller we can set an auto decline, but if Ebay has a way to track what our average “acceptance” level is and feeds that to the buyer that is going to make an offer, that would help that buyer maybe getting an “acceptance” quickly.

07/12/2019 at 8:22 am in reply to: Seller Makes an Offer to a Watcher and a New Offer Comes in from a New Buyer #64820Thanks guys. Jay that is not quite the scenario but I will go ahead and accept the formal offer that came in.
I didn’t send out multiple offers waiting on the first reply. A potential buyer messaged me and just asked if I would consider taking $75. i replied Yes and then sent him an offer. Thenwhile waiting on the first guy to respond an offer comes in from a brand new person, whom I didn’t send an offer to.
But Liz and your comment takes care of the issue for me. That is no matter how many offers are out there, regardless if I sent them or if they sent them to me, or what order they were sent or received, I can take any offer I want regardless if I sent the offer or they sent the offer and not wait on the first guy I sent my offer to.
In other words, if the guy I sent the offer to myself, if he takes too long, I take the next offer that is sent to me.
I just thought if I made the offer and that offer was good for either 24 or 48 hours, the item was now “tied up” for that time frame to allow the person I sent the offer to time to get around to accepting or declining it and only after the 24 hrs. or 48 hours have past, then is the only time I could accept an offer that comes in from a buyer.
Since I sent the first offer, it seems like if I then change my mind after 7 hours goes by, I can just “abandon” that offer “I Sent”.
So if the time frame doesn’t mean anything, then a seller is good to take any offer regardless of how many he send out and how many he gets and that is good. Just wanted to to clarify.
Thanks guys…
