Thanks for the update. I do try to keep up with it but frankly on a few items I just simply forget if I sold it or if it’s just something still for sale. I’m like you all, unique, one of a kind things, listing only on eBay using eBay listing tools (either through a browser on a computer or through apps on my iPad). I don’t use other software platforms and I don’t cross list with other sales platforms. Everything I sell is strictly eBay.
Oh well, no worries, I did tell the buyer sorry but it did kind of frustrate me as I didn’t realize it until I went to pack it up. Nothing you can do. Thanks for the info, I appreciate this forum.
Enjoy
Sorry Jay, of course I said it wrong, I think I often do, but the overall thought is the same. Yes, I list until cancelled, which in my mind simply means eBay re-lists for me at the end of the month, but in fact I recognize that it’s not technically re-listed. No worries, that’s what I meant. So really I never re-list anything. If something sells and doesn’t get paid for, I always click the button to re-list that item once it’s gone through the process, but that’s all. So I’m not sure how something would get re-listed once it’s been sold. Doesn’t make sense to me. Buyer paid right away, I shipped it, and all was done.
It did happen one other time to me, but I caught it as I was browsing through my items and I noticed something that I recently packed. So I cancelled that item before it sold.
Who knows, it seems to be very rare and I guess even possible I did it myself though it’s not something I ever do and it’s not something I even have a vague remembrance of. So right now I’m blaming eBay, as I have no other reason for that to happen. I don’t have helpers, I am the only one that has say over my eBay account.
Thanks. Take care
Thanks, all is working at the moment, but if something happens again I’ll let you know. It may be an internet thing – our internet keeps failing on me, so my mac thinks I’m connected when really I’m not. Clearing everything does typically help.
This has been happening for the last month or so I feel. Every now and then, I can load ebay fine, but if I hit refresh, one section will come back blacked out (seller performance or any other random section). It won’t have data and will just be black. Reload often fixes, but not always. It’s just a bit odd.
Thanks again
Yes – you just ship to Kentucky and then it’s out of your hands, which is very nice. eBay charges the buyer a lot for that service, so you may lose some international sales but I think it’s nice. Though right now with the COVID crisis I have changed my business policy to include international shipping to Canada – since Canadians are currently having a difficult time crossing the border to pick up packages at their US address. Several have asked if I could ship direct to them, and so I just turned that on. But all other international shipping for me goes through Kentucky. I will say it takes forever – but buyers don’t seem to complain to me about it (at least I haven’t noticed anything).
I am still a little worried that this will go against me as it’s still in my “awaiting shipment” section of my account. They claim it won’t and that I can just archive it, but I just don’t know. Again, time will tell I guess
Thanks for the info. I’ve done that, contacted eBay, and it is what it is. I just thought it seemed odd, especially since I was paid. Time will tell if that payment was legit or not. Oddly enough, I just got this follow-up email from eBay. All this really does is add to the confusion – but I still will not ship to the original buyer. But at least now I can relist without having to do research and take new pics.
Hello gfd_622,
We have restored the following listing:

If there were any bidders for your item, we emailed them to let them know the listing for Item number 324156880307 – CALLAWAY Chip Coach Training Aid – Excellent Shape
was removed in error. We’ve also explained how they can find your item again if you relist it.We’re sorry for the inconvenience this has caused you.
Thanks,
eBay
No, I was selling something, The guy made an offer, I accepted, and he paid right away. And once he paid they removed the item. It is gone from the system. I can’t relist or do anything with it. He paid – I have money in my PayPal account – and they are telling me not to ship it. I can print a shipping label if I go from a browser (not the app). It’s odd
Looks like something I would purchase when I lived in Albuquerque. Native American, maybe Hopi or Navajo.
I don’t think it’s something you sign up for. You can express interest, and then at some point eBay will message you saying it’s time Grasshopper, you can now join our system 😉
At the bottom of this page you can express interest and then see where it goes. I assume it’s probably because you just signed on, and you probably need to have a few sales before they allow you in to the system. I’ve been selling a long time and I still have not been invited. I think possibly because I do a lot of charity sales, and they don’t have that worked out yet.

Good luck
Thanks all for the input. I was just trying to speed up the process, eliminate unneeded waste, and see what others do in this regard. My thought is to not use packing slips except in more expensive items, but we’ll see what happens. I already got messed up a bit in that I forgot what shipping a buyer picked and then ended up using the wrong one by accident (different thread). Oh well, live and learn.
I do not think it’s illegal to use newspaper as packing for media mail, but to be honest I use end rolls (unprinted newspaper) for everything, so that’s not an issue for me. I do appreciate the thought of looking professional, but I also realize that this is eBay and I rarely get repeat business, no matter what I do, so I am not too worried on that front.
Thanks again and take care all.
lol -no worries – I realize that. I just wish he would have messaged me first. I would have given him a rebate. I honestly forgot about it. He still got the package in 2 days – so it didn’t take longer to ship. And he got $7 off from the start price. And it all goes to charity – none to me (zero). I know eBay won’t back me here – but there is no way I’m throwing money his way now.
He actually left me positive feedback – just a negative comment. I may try to remove it, but for now I’m letting it go. It just annoyed me. I’m also certain it was because I charged him for priority but did first class. I almost never do that, but in this case since he paid so little for the item I didn’t see an issue with it. And it is all going to charity – so I’m not going to be nice and give him anything back now. Had he asked I would have thrown $2 his way. Oh well.
Thank you all for the information, that helps. I have always printed out a packing slip but in actuality through all the years I have yet to lose a package so that really doesn’t worry me. What I will probably do is put packing slips into expensive packages (just in case), and then for others (less than $15 or so) I’ll just skip it. It’s faster to pack for me without it and I do feel like I’d like to do my part in minimizing waste – that’s my whole reason for selling on eBay (and the money is just icing on the cake).
I’m still amazed that people are paying me money to clean out my basement. How cool is that.
Take care all
Works from the app though – at least from my phone. Didn’t try iPad. So it’s not working from the browser on a mac for me (whatever browser, firefox, safari, etc…). Tried a few
“We ran into a problem, but we’re working on it. Please try later.’ That’s the error I’m getting right now. 3:38pm EST
