Jay and Ryanne,
Thank you so much for all that you have put into the podcast over the years. You both have made a difference in a lot of lives. From a personal standpoint, I don’t know that I would have thought that I could quit my job and do eBay fulltime without the inspiration I got from you guys many years ago. It’s been life changing for me and my family.
You also inspired my son when he was 14 years old to start selling on eBay, as we listened to all your podcasts when we were travelling with his baseball teams for games and practices. He is graduating college this year and he still does eBay every day. It’s helped pay his way through college and he will graduate this year with no debt.
I figured this would come at some point, but I am grateful for the time and effort you two have put into this over the years.
Thank you and good luck in all your future endeavors!

Number of items listed: 39- Sales were pretty good for me this week. I haven’t reported numbers in a few weeks due to vacation and a wedding and golf outing. The previous two weeks were light though with my store on time away.
- I’ve had a couple of solid weeks of listing and I think that has helped drive sales. For some reason, I always seem to get a bump in sales after I’ve listed items. It doesn’t even end up being newly listed stuff sometimes.
- On a non-eBay note…my wife and I are considering turning one of our small rental homes into an Airbnb. It is located about 15 minutes from a state park and I’m thinking we could probably double our income on it even if it’s only rented about half the month.

Number of items listed: 26- Scavenge of the week: I bought a set of Callaway golf clubs with a high end bag and very nice pull cart at a yard sale for $50. I tried the clubs and hit them about the same as my set, so decided to sell them as they are newer and worth more than mine. I gave the bag to my son’s girlfriend who needed a bag and I kept the pull cart for myself. My wife is keeping the 2 drivers to try out and will give me back the one she doesn’t want. So far, I’ve sold 5 of the clubs for $247 and have 6 more still listed and will eventually list one of the drivers.
- Last week, my wife and I spent over a week in Omaha with my SIL who lost her son. Very sad, but I am blessed to have the freedom now to go and spend more than a week helping out the family. I would never have been able to do that on short notice with no planned return date with my full time job.

Number of items listed: 23- Sorry to hear your sales were so slow this week. I had a great week in sales. Definitely helped that I had 2 items that sold for $250 each. Even without them I would have been over the $1K goal.
- Maybe it’s been mentioned before and I missed it, but I found a tab in the drop down on my sold items to print a coupon to add to the package when you ship it. I’m not doing it, but I thought it was interesting and I hadn’t noticed it before.

Number of items listed: 30- It was a weird week on the sales front. Started off slow like many of the past weeks, then starting on Tuesday my sales shot back up to normal. Only 5 items sold Sat/Sun/Mon, but 28 items for the week and I got back up close to the $1K level I like to be at.
- I am still part of eBay Expressions. They asked me to join a couple of months ago and every few weeks I get a small survey to fill out about selling on eBay. This week was questions about selling in the home and garden category. I don’t think I’ve had the opportunity to improve anything, as I have not had any issues relating to any of the surveys I’ve done so far.
Scavenge of the Week: I got a new in the sealed box Strawberry Shortcake recipe box from 1981 at an auction in a box lot. The highest price sold I found was for $65 and it was new with the box, but not sealed. I threw it up for $150 and within hours got offers of $100, $100 and $135. One of the $100 offers ended up buying it for the $150 asking price after I let them all know that I had multiple offers and was going to take whoever came back with the highest one.
Retro…I used to do the same thing, listing out of the back of my Trailblazer. My son and I would drive to his baseball practice around an hour away. We would hit a couple thrift stores on the way and I would list items during his practices.

Number of items listed: 66- I didn’t post in the forum last week, but pretty much the same low sales I’ve seen recently. $525 last week and $592 this week. I even had a day with no sales at all. Been quite a while since that has happened. My plan is to just keep listing…it’ll come around eventually.
- I’ve had a pretty good couple of weeks of listing new items. 79 items listed 2 weeks ago and another 66 items this week, it was nice to get the time to put in a few solid listing days.
- Scavenge of the week: I got a large box of items at an auction this week for $9 that had over $200 worth of items in it that I could see from a glance. In the bottom of it, I found a Bose Wave Radio. The sound from it is awesome, so I listed it for a fairly high price and am keeping it in my office until it sells. I’m kinda hoping it doesn’t sell for a while!
- Your talk about ketchup packets reminded of when I would go skiing in Colorado when I was young. Food was always super expensive and my friends and I would always pack our own food and eat in the parking lot. One time we brought a guy who went into the resort to the condiment table and made what he called snowboarder soup with a cup of water, ketchup packets and a sugar packet heated up in the microwave.

Number of items listed: 36- Pretty rough week for sales. I even had a day with no sales at all. Been quite a while since that has happened. My plan is to just keep listing…it’ll come around eventually.
- The new Habitat Restore store opened in our area this week. I was very disappointed…prices were very high. I might be able to pick up a few things for my rentals if I need something they have, but it’s not going to be very good for Ebay. Maybe their prices will come down over time.
- Doublythumbs: Thanks for the heads up on the Wagner Ware handles. I see those at auctions often and pass on them bc they don’t seem to sell well. I’ll have to keep an eye on them in the future.
- I has now been just over 2 years since I quit my career job and started doing eBay full time. I still wake up every day thankful for the freedom I have to just do what I want when I want to.

- There is a new Habitat Restore store opening up in my area next weekend. I can’t wait to check it out. Hopefully some great deals. I hit them up in any area I travel to. Usually hit or miss…some are expensive, but some are awesome.
- I went to a fantastic outdoor estate auction this weekend. It was pouring rain in the morning and kept raining all day, so it really kept people away. I spent $89 and filled my SUV to the brim. I could’ve gotten so much more, but didn’t have room. They couldn’t get bids on box lots and kept adding to them until they could get a $1 bid. So far, I’ve listed 10 items from that auction for $600. Probably several thousand dollars of stuff by the time I finish listing it all.

Number of items listed: 16- My sales have also dropped quite a bit recently. It’s been about ½ to ¾ of what I normally do. I’ve made no changes to my store bc the store level changes didn’t justify it. It just seems like a lot of my lower dollar items are selling lately instead of higher dollar items.
- I’ve always hated selling clothes. I try to avoid it, but sometimes the money is too good to pass up on some items, so I bite the bullet and take all the measurements. I did get lucky a few months ago when CJ Banks went out of business and got a bunch of jeans and tops for $1-$2 each. Nice thing was that I got multiples of some of the sizes so I could measure once and list several.
- I’ve been seeing a lot more auctions in my area on auctionzip lately. 2 of my favorites still have not opened up yet, though. I think one of them might be done for good.

Number of items listed: 4- Another slow week for me as well. $700 is not bad though.
- Scavenge of the Week: A friend of mine that I sell for once in a while brought me 3 little Cricut vinyl dolls. They were some type of promotional item for Cricut cutter machines. For some reason, they are crazy collectable. I sold 2 pink ones for $285 and 325. I also have a purple one still for sale and I’m hoping to get $100 for that one. They were super easy to list and I got a great commission for selling them.
- Congrats on the store opening. I also love a great cup of Americano!

Number of items listed: 41- Had a few high dollar sales this week that helped me get back over the $1K mark.
- Auctions and yard sales are both picking up in our area. I was able to pick up some great items at both this week.
- I’ve had the same experiences with online auctions. It’s rare that I do well with the online ones. The prices just seem to go way to high. Luckily, in my area there have still been some in person estate auctions. Many of the local auctioneers in my area also hate doing online auctions. Some have tried working as best as they could through the pandemic, but some still are waiting to open back up again.
- The new expanded character ability on feedback is crazy. Someone just wrote me a book for feedback. It’s not going to be good when I get a negative with a diatribe.
- Congrats on the coffee shop opening. It looks like you have put a lot of effort into the details…nice job!

Number of items listed: 41- Sales picked up this week a bit. Still below my $1K goal, but much better.
- If someone had told me two years ago that selling 35 items in a week was a bit slow, I would’ve thought they were crazy.
- My high sale was actually a total of $240. I had a buyer purchase a number of Wheel Horse shirts from my store. I took offers of $60 each for two of the work shirts and some lower offers on a few other shirts. I probably could’ve gotten more for them over time, but took some lower offers since the buyer wanted several of them.

Number of items listed: 3- Slowest week I’ve had in quite some time. Brough my week in at only about half my weekly goal for sales.
- Made it to my favorite auction this week and listed a few items from it already. One of those items was my $100 sale.
- I had a couple of items sell this week that had been in my store since 2015. A gun cleaning kit and a pair of metal peacock wall hangings.
- At my age, I am sure learning to sell on eBay would be much safer than trying to learn to do a backflip!
