Hey guys, just wanted to thank you for your advice.
I canceled the paid option the guy was trying to put me through, and found someone on r/forhire to help me format the templated site in the way I wanted it. It’s looking very nice, and I’m finally able to start adding blog posts.
ShatnersOldToupee.Wordpress.com
Facebook is special. It’s not like Craigslist and eBay, where you will only find something when searching through the right keywords. Facebook recommends Marketplace things to you based on your search history, and it’s remarkably helpful. I find wholesale lots of things for resale that way all the time, without having to consciously look for it. Stuff like this should be marketed to people with search histories related to commercial AV. I’m sure it will happen eventually; just usually happens sooner.
Jay, that’s exactly my thinking. Facebook usually markets my listings like this just to those people; not sure why I haven’t seen any hits.
Jay,
I have been eagerly listening to your show for 3 or 4 years. I vaguely remember noticing a small stutter on the first podcast, and that’s about the last time I noticed anything. When you started to speak about this in last night’s podcast, it took me a moment to understand what the strange person was even offering you “advice” about.
Your show is wonderful. You are both uniquely effective and engaging communicators, and neither I nor the dozens of people I have played your program for have ever been distracted or dissuaded by the way you speak. Thank you so much for addressing this question so publicly and bravely. It was so much more helpful that people get educated about things like stutters and people’s anxieties around them, than it would have been for this silly, unthinking person to just have been told off. I am sure that as a consequence of your taking the time to speak out about this, dozens of listeners with their own little differences will have been made to feel less alone and less anxious. Hundreds more listeners will have been educated about how to better empathize with people whom they might have otherwise considered “offering advice to.”
Starting out on my 82 shipments from the weekend, was very pleased to hear mention of some of my favorite Western Mass towns. I started listening to you guys at Amherst College. I’ll be going up there next week, stopping by Northampton’s new marijuana dispensary.
I’ve never done free shipping before; just the high price, Best Offer strategy that you guys do. But recently, I’ve found that I can price some things more precisely with free shipping, particularly media and clothes, where I can get a very precise idea of what the highest price something will sell at.
So I did just that, and with the same idea about migrating if I need to:
Shatnersoldtoupee.wordpress.comWordpress advertises easily workable templates, but I just haven’t found that to be the case. I haven’t been able to set up simple menu formats, and I don’t like that the articles just disappear out of site after new ones come in. I spent so much time trying to figure out how to edit the templates, that eventually thought it would just be worth paying someone the $50. Now with the thought of having to pay a yearly bill for a blog I’m just trying out, I’m back to being as overwhelmed as I was when I started.
Store: SaveMeFromMyUnemployment

Total Sales: 1457.73
Quantity Sales: 113
Highest Price Sold: $59 – Monster Cable
Average Price Sold: $12.90This has been the roughest quarter in a long time. A lot of my stuff has been low-price, so a lot of money going away on shipping and fees. The giant CD collection is beginning to sell, but not much of high value.
I wonder why they removed the option from the bulk editing tool.
I know embarrassingly little about business policies, but I understand generally that these are format models. I opted in and created a policy with extended handling time. But that required me to set a single set of shipping service options for all listings, and the new policy was just created, not applied to items already listed. Does anyone know what I can do?I was surprised, but it has been normal lately. I scavenged a 2BR+ attic + basement + apartment in a rather expensive NYC suburb town. Increasingly more of my inventory is media, something that I never thought I would want to sell because it is cheap, but that I have built a growingly more successful model around. Storage exists mostly in various forms of shelving around my apartment and attic. I intend to write a separate post about the giant recent acquisition I made.

Cost of Items Sold: Too many orders to calculate. Around $100.I’ve been away from the forum for a while, but have been eagerly keeping up with the podcast. 26 year old guy with a growing store in North Jersey. Expanding like crazy, many thanks to the program and listener suggestions.
I’m not sure that you were talking about me, but I am a Dan who has talked with you guys about clothing measurements.
For the record, my policy is that I don’t list any measurements, but I take any measurements for active listings as requests for them come in.
For a time, I was taking measurements for every piece of clothing I was listing, but I began realizing that most people weren’t even looking at them, only going by the label size. Considering how much this slowed my process down, it didn’t seem to be a great way to spend my time. The people who shop by exact dimensions are the ones who contact me requesting that I take them. This way, everyone only gets what they want, and I speed up my listing process.

That sounds like a really plausible scene for the first one! Definitely could say David.
Something wonderfully creepy about depicting David as a troubled, worn middle aged man.The second photo of the second artwork didn’t upload:
Regarding the new shipping page:
It doesn’t offer Fedex labels and doesn’t have a way for you to purchase insurance through USPS. They offer a button for switching back to the old format (for now), but nothing to make that switch permanent. And it’s a stupid modern-looking format designed to make the process look simpler for new members. I encourage everyone to click the “How do you like our new format?” link and complain about the bizarre oversights in common functionality, and suggest that they revert to the old format.
