Number of items listed this week: 6Terrible week of sales for me. I usually don’t do well this time of year so it’s not a surprise. I continue to have some insomnia issues that is really dragging me down. Last night was better and it’s raining again the next couple of days so I plan to hit the listing. Some of my previous RA clearance packages are rolling in. I need to cut back on thrifting and it hasn’t really been that good anyway. Still have a lot of organizing, cleaning and consolidating to do as well. Basically, hope to get my Ebay mojo in gear!

Number of items listed this week: 10+Pretty decent week for this time of year. All new items selling mainly. Previous and December/January purchases. Need to get listing this week! Poor weather will help. I was having a lot of insomnia issues last week but seems to be better this week.
I hope R&J you are doing well! Miss hearing updates from you. I even miss the what you are eating segment. LOL
I’m thinking about some future plans. I have a lot of small art listed on Ebay that would have sold live at my booths and is I think being overlooked on Ebay. Most of the art I have sold successfully is a listed artist. I have some other goals right now for the first part of the year but I’m considering just putting the vintage amateur art and completed embroidery on Etsy. I hate that you have to do free shipping but I could start with smalls. I’m also planning to do a bit more styling in my photos on Instagram and some listings. We have a lot of flower growers here so I am lucky to get them very reasonably. I need to go through my piles and pull some trays, books, vases…
Looking forward to this week, I found an amazing antique Chinese dragon embroidery on silk that I need to research for $20.
It’s all new items selling for me lately. I had to be patient but this item sold for a great profit https://www.ebay.com/itm/235819197794 I paid $4 a year or so ago, maybe longer.
I’m loving the magazines, Blenko and the trunk sounds amazing.
I wish I had peaked on Ebay during the podcast days but it is nice to check in with you all.
Last week I bought a few brass items from a flea market guy I hadn’t seen before. Nothing from anyone else and the dollar guy wasn’t there.
I went late on the first day to an estate sale at a beautiful home. I bought some vintage frames and books. The rest was a bit over priced and I intentionally avoided getting there at opening since I have so much stuff on hand. https://www.instagram.com/p/DFlF6zwyx3A/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link&igsh=MzRlODBiNWFlZA== This is a video another local posted. The craftsmanship in these homes is incredible.
@VT hope things are improving.
I lost track of last week’s listing total because I tried to do a big sell similar. It got a little mucked up but hopefully I didn’t lose any listings. It looked about the same total items before and after. I think I did at least 10 new listings.
We are finally getting some rain here and I plan on doing some organizing and listing in the next few days. January was a lot of nice family time but I didn’t get a ton of Ebay done, aside from sourcing and listing my RA. I had a couple of good production days on the piles only. Mostly my RA items are selling this time of year. I went in pretty deep on one retailer and passed on one that has been underperforming the last two cycles. A third source I only found a couple of deals low enough to flip. They might do some better clearance closer to Spring or in Summer. I do feel like the RA helps boost my store.
Wow seems like good prices. I love the Arabeque pattern.
@Antique Frog I’ve done pretty well with Denby.
My sales have been ok for this time of year but I haven’t done the photos for my new listings the last couple of days and it got quiet.
Oh that’s right, that was an interesting trial. I feel like I’m just going to give in to Ebay and run sales and offers with the hope that my outflow is better this year. So I will need to watch the buy in prices as I have been mentioning…
Ours are always on Craigslist. That’s still a thing here.
So are you still doing 2? Sorry if I confused that. The seller guy on the podcast kind of seemed to indicate you would get buried if you didn’t at least do the 2.
Wow that’s brave. On the eBay for business podcast I heard the guy say to do st least 2%. But maybe since you know EBay tricks it won’t affect you. Let us know what you think later!
@Craig I would look into rummage and church sales in your area. They have more volume and typically price better. The volunteers also organize things. My experience here is that many garage sales are busts but occasionally there is one where it’s really great. Sometimes the run of the mill neighborhoods built in the 50s or 60s have the best old stuff. We have it a little better because my town did not have a lot of made in China stores until the recent past to shop at. When I go out of town I see a lot of that. Our goodwill is full of Home Goods art prints now.
As long as you are still excited about it, that’s what counts.
https://www.ebay.com/itm/235921146983 I love this MCM set of Denby dishes. Goodwill had the larger plates priced at $7.99 per so they sat and the manager just repriced them for me. Plus it was Monday so I got an extra 25% off.
My daughter, her friend and I went to the bins this week and I found the following for about $20-25: a vintage Franklin Quest leather organizer barely used, an expensive small leather bag that needs cleaning, a Fossil small leather wallet, a Bona hardwood cleaner pad refill, a couple of vintage frames, a dog bed for the pup (now sanitized, but barely used), an Oneill sport bag that looks new, 2 BMW whisky glasses, a set of placemats and napkins from World Market, a Pottery Barn sham, and a hardback book for staging. Lots of randomness. I’d like to try the bins in the morning on the flea market day (during the work week). I think many of the bin pickers flip there and might be missing? It was less crowded this time but the bins also seemed emptier.
The flea was fun but didn’t buy too much.
