@daisy Thanks!
Circling back around on this. I spent $340 on everything I bought that day and listed it all for $4,750 with best offer. So far I’ve made $1,565 (10 days) not including fees and original costs. I’ve had one return for a pair of Gucci shoes to the tune of $150 which stung, but that’s the way the game goes.
@sharyn I did report her. I doubt it will do any good unless she has a history of this. But karma is a real thing.
@vintagetreasures I’m so sorry. I wish people could all be honest.@vintagetreasures I used to subscribe to sweepstakesonline and I can totally relate. I won quite a few amazing trips, but the t shirts and video games were a letdown, lol. 🙂 My favorite trip win was to Los Angeles with a shopping spree on Rodeo Drive. It was from No Nonsense pantyhose. I won the trip and then 9/11 happened. Due to that they sent me a check for $7,000 in lieu of the trip. I was fine with that! One other memorable win was a pink electric guitar from the Powder Puff girls. Super fun. Too bad postage got so expensive. That’s why I quit mailing in second chance entries.
@Ryanne I’ve been selling on eBay for just about 20 years and this is the first time anything like this has ever happened for me. I’m afraid this just inflated my expectations for all future thrifting lol.
@mycottage, lol absolutely. It certainly felt like a movie. 🙂
Thanks Sonia!!
@Sharyn Yes, this time of year is slow, but this is crazy slow compared to years previous during the same time period. At least for me anyway.
Thanks everyone!
@daisy I have thousands of listings and I list about 100 items a week. I can’t take the time to show measurements in pictures. I just measure and put it in the listing. I use a mannequin for most items, but not pants. Returns are a guarantee in the clothing business. It’s just painful when the clothing is higher end and expensive.
@my cottage, the algo thing is interesting. It only benefits eBay if there are sales. So you’d think they’d have the option to offer it to all items with watchers.
@Jay I hope that potential customers understand that a percentage of the population is difficult or impossible to please.
Ugh my one negative is due to fall off soon and this makes me worry. I have SO much anxiety every time I see y feedback number change because I’m afraid of the impossible to please people. I also get anxious every time I get a message from a customer. I swear I’ll have PTSD by the time I’m done with eBay.
@mightybrilliant The early bird gets the worm and there are a lot of birds around here. Mostly buzzards though, lol.
@Winchester38 She is dog sitting, lol. And four weeks after she starts she will be supervising my own two teens once they get out for the summer. She won’t be doing any eBay tasks other than allowing me to get out of the house. Twice a month she will be coming over on Fridays at 4am so I can do my twice monthly estate sales. I sleep in my car the night before to secure a number. My husband leaves for work at o’dark thirty so I need her to help with the pups and the girls. My daughters are special needs and need a little extra help which means I cant leave them alone for hours.
