My husband is gonna LOVE you guys! He’s been on my case about the death piles in the garage. This mini challenge will be right up his alley! LOL
How about you nominate specifically what you’re going to list in the next week; number and type, and then you have to list them?
I have six computer fans that have been sitting under my desk for nearly a year now.

Love this post!
Hey, T-Satt, I’ve been thinking of moving to SixBit too, if they cover all the tax “musk” that we’ll have to deal with now. Does it do that?

VintageTreasures, you really said it well. I find this thread so motivating and encouraging, even though I’m on the bottom of the pile. You guys are such fun to check in with each week!
ChristineR, that fabric! Drooooooool….
06/19/2018 at 10:34 am in reply to: "Your seller performance status is at risk in the global program." #42815I don’t see this on mine. The last time it showed me as Above Standard, all my metrics were 100%. I waited a couple days and it self-corrected. Another eBay glitch, perhaps?
This week’s discussion reminds me of the story of the Executive and the Fisherman!
06/18/2018 at 11:07 am in reply to: Trash Elf Twins Challenge 2018 Thread #2 From Week 19 (May 7-13) #42731Morning all!
ChristineR, you gained back the point you lost last week! 😀 This week I ended up being away for the entire day 3 days out of six, and spent two of the remaining dealing with property tax protests (we live in one of the highest property tax counties in the U.S., coming in the top fifth in the nation.) So my listing total for the week is… zero. Dagnabbit!
On the positive side, I’ve found a local teenager who is keen to photograph my clothes for me over the summer. We’re starting with a tote of only 20 items, with an option to build up to a maximum of 100 per week. This means I can focus on photographing other items that I prefer to do, as I really don’t enjoy clothes. I’m not sure how it will impact my listings, as I still have to do all the work, prepping the clothes, doing the research, taking measurements, etc., but the photos will be done for me. I’m going to create scheduled listings of each one, and then can upload the photos when I get them. At worst, it means I’ll have 20 additional items to list eventually. At least, I’ll have 20 listings per week. At best, I’ll have the 20 clothing items plus whatever I manage to get through myself. I really hope this works out! My goal for the year was to list 100 items per month and, with only 228 listings so far, I’m less than a quarter of the way through my “goal year”. With a little help for the summer, perhaps I can catch up and clear my clothes death piles. That will be bliss!
06/18/2018 at 10:12 am in reply to: Buyer undercharged for multi-quantity purchase with Ebay combined shipping #42718The learning curve on this one is steep! I sold seven large, heavy curtains for the shipping cost of one, and it bit hard! eBay told me my listing was incorrect, then told me to contact the Buyer and advise them it had been done incorrectly and ask the buyer to pay the additional shipping. That went down like a ton of lead! So I learned how to do it right and it’s a PITA!
Basically, you have to use Flat Rate Shipping, but not the PFRE one. You create a listing and work out how much it will cost to ship one of the item. Then you work out how much it will cost to ship 2, then 3, then 4, etc. Once you have a bunch of calculations, you work out an average “cost per extra unit” for the additional items. When listing, you create a new shipping policy and use “Flat Rate” as the shipping option. Put in the cost for shipping one item and add your calculated extra into the box that says “Plus $… for each additional unit” (or words to that effect.) I wish eBay would allow us to select the option “request invoice for more than one item” but at the moment, this is the way to do it.
06/13/2018 at 9:37 am in reply to: Trash Elf Twins Challenge 2018 Thread #2 From Week 19 (May 7-13) #42375Wow! How close our numbers are in each set this week! 😀
Wonder what happened to AtomicStar? Looks like we lost Marjean and KatieScott. 🙁
Only 3 weeks left until mid-year, folks! How are your goals looking?
06/11/2018 at 9:04 am in reply to: Trash Elf Twins Challenge 2018 Thread #2 From Week 19 (May 7-13) #42123The week started out well, but then petered out with other stuff taking over as it progressed. Bah humbug! Still, I managed to list 19 items, all DP, so I’m happy!
The race is ON, ChristineR! 😀
It has been working fine on my Chrome for a while now. I didn’t even know it wasn’t working!
Jay, I’ve tried posting a reply to this thread twice now, and it’s not showing up. But it says I’m duplicating my post.
Awesome! With something like that, I’d be tempted to accept it, just to see what they did! 😀
Have you considered two monitors? I don’t have that set up yet, but it’s definitely in my future. I’ve heard/read about the convenience; for example, your normal browser open on the one monitor with your listing page; and on the other you have an Incognito window open with eBay doing a research thread, or your photos to refer to, or Worthpoint search, etc. You wouldn’t need such a big monitor, and you can get nifty double-monitor wall mounts quite reasonably priced these days.
06/06/2018 at 10:52 am in reply to: Trash Elf Twins Challenge 2018 Thread #2 From Week 19 (May 7-13) #41819AtomicStar – welcome to the group! We’d love to have you! Just post your week’s listings every Monday and we’ll pair you up with someone who matches your trends.
Regarding my sewing, it’s my therapy! LOL! I discovered that working 15 hour days makes me less productive, not more, so it’s tools down at 6PM. I feed the menagerie, tidy up, and then it’s therapy time. It took me a while to set myself up with a sewing space that is organized and well arranged, but I can go there now and work on a project of my choice. Now that the costumes are done, I have to finish the shorts for my daughter and grandson, and then will do some patriotic quilted table toppers for 4th of July gifts that are sort of obligatory (long story). Finally, I need new clothes and will be working on my wardrobe. I don’t sew every day, but most weekends and quite a few evenings. I find the creative process relaxing. I usually have an audiobook running in the background and can keep myself happily occupied for hours.
06/05/2018 at 10:43 am in reply to: Trash Elf Twins Challenge 2018 Thread #2 From Week 19 (May 7-13) #41729Thanks for all the kind words. It was hard work, but the end result was worth it. The show was such amazing fun and the ladies surprised me with a thank you gift box that was very generous.
ChristineR, you’re a whole 5 points ahead of me! I’d have to whoop you five whole weeks in a row just to break even! 😀
It looks like KatieScott and Marjean have dropped out. I’ll keep them in one more week to see if they pop back.
