What a slow week for everyone! Except VT who just blitzed her way to a win! LOL
VL, good luck on all the packing!
We seem to have lost JB and JR. :'(

Sincere apologies to all for the prolonged silence. I came down with a severe kidney infection out of the blue (never heard of a kidney infection without an UTI first, but okay) and was down and out. Worst possible time too!
Last week VL had an honorable mention with the highest number, but Sharyn took the win. Congrats on getting your May challenge completed, Sharyn. Anyone else done anything with theirs?
This week UtahBill has wiped the floor with a very convincing win! Well done!
Spreadsheet updated.
Congratulations on the new house, VL! How exciting for you! It’s a huge job to move house, and purging is an excellent way to reduce what you need to move. Sending best wishes that absolutely everything goes to plan!
Spreadsheet updated and Sharyn gave us all a resounding slap this week! Good listing number, Sharyn, and thanks for the link.
That’s a seriously low number for you, VL. Still struggling with stuff? Sending you warm and fuzzies and hopes that it gets better soon!
I had zero again last week. Pity I can’t count my booth items, I’m over 300 there! I got a very bad placement, but there has been an extremely unpopular change in management and the booths are emptying out like crazy. This is a bad thing overall, but it has opened up a better booth, so I’ll be working on moving items this month as well. I had hoped that the booth work would settle allowing me to return to eBay. Guess not. 🙁
UtahBill, that is a great plan! With one caveat – put more stuff into storage than you think you’ll want to keep. In the endorphin rush of “getting rid of clutter” we often get rid of too much clutter! Then we regret not keeping Great Grandma Mabel’s Siamese cat night light! If you pack the storage unit with all your must keep items, go back home, take a deep, slow breath, and pack a couple more boxes, thoughtfully. If you decide, in the end, that you don’t want them, you can always put them on eBay, donate them to a thrift shop, or have a Moving Yard Sale. Also, I love the idea of being away on vacation for the estate sale – so much emotional baggage is tied up in our stuff! Just beware, you or your wife may have a slight emotional breakdown on return to see all your things have gone. That’s a normal side effect of decluttering that the TV shows don’t show!
Sharyn, I tell everyone I have 3 kids. My youngest is my grandson, Squiggs. His mom, my middle child, is The Bratness. And, of course, my oldest is Himself, my husband. 😀
Here you go, JB, your TEDC list: https://www.scavengerlife.com/forums/topic/listing-challenge-2022-thread-1/#post-94488
Aren’t you glad you posted it, now? 😉
Woah, Sharyn! You’re introducing a Challenge challenge? ROFL. You ARE such a go-getter! 😀 Thank you for posting the breakdown idea. I think a lot of folks will find that helpful.
VL, huge empathy for the upcoming move. Having just moved The Bratness, I am intimately and currently in touch with how stressful that is. Sending you lots of best wishes for all the help you need and all the resources to come to you as you need them. I love your new viewpoint.
VT, I think niches are great. You seem to do really well with your niche items, so I think it’s terrific that you’re narrowing down. Good luck with your move too.
UtahBill, last week’s numbers updated. Did you manage to finish your April Challenge?
Sharyn, your challenge is very interesting. Let us know what you decide!
Spreadsheet updated. VL gets an Honorable Mention, as she listed the highest but cannot win. Sharyn takes the prize instead by only ONE! That was close, VT!
How many folks have actually finished all their monthly challenges to date? Am I correct that only Sharyn has done so? I’ve done all but March, being that I was away for the month, but I think Sharyn has finished all 4 so far. Just curious. The challenges were accepted by everyone as a great idea at the beginning of the year, but motivation has been slowing. I’m wondering if I should introduce some more pop up challenges.
Listed only one item this week, on Facebook, but it sold yesterday for $800.
I’d be happy to list only one item a week if I could do that every week! 😀
My #11 is Challenger’s Choice. As I had to skip March due to being away, I’m going to choose to catch up with my March item, which was to do my F Category inventory stock check. I would have much preferred to do something new, but needs must.
JB, wow, what a fantastic sale! Good find! Well done!
Sharyn, thank you! That was very informative. And great paintings, I love good artwork!
Spreadsheet updated. JB had the highest listing, but as she was last year’s winner, she gets a blue number in the spreadsheet as an Honorable Mention. The win goes to VT. Well done – goes to proof that steady listing is the best!
Right, down to the last 4 days. VL, Sharyn, and I have completed ours. Has anyone else done theirs? If you don’t have time to finish it this week, perhaps you could break it down into steps and complete Step #1 this week? I’d take that as a win!
Sharyn, your mission, should you choose to accept it, will be to write up a How To for creating a store banner! Wow, that looks fantastic! Very well done indeed!
VT, oh no! No no no no no. Elder abuse is the most despicable thing, right up there with preying on children. My heart goes out to you and I wish that it may be resolved as quickly as possible. Also, may the fleas of a thousand camels infest that abuser’s hairy bits – and mostly the unseen bits! 🙁
Well done, VL! Yay!
Hmmm… I did better than I thought I did, with 5 listings for last week. Which is about a quarter of what I wanted to do, but still.
My Challenge is complete. I’ve cleared my Shelf #3 and reset it as my working shelf, which is the original purpose of the shelf. It’s a complete pain in the patootie to do these challenges, but these are all items that I have needed to do and never found the time, so getting them done is Da Bomb!
POP UP CHALLENGE!
These monthly challenges are kicking your collective butts! Let’s have a quick pop up challenge then.
The Designated Challenge this month is #9. Look up #9 and decide on a smaller “bite.” What small thing could you do to make it easier to work on the challenge for the next week? What bite out of the challenge could you take that would make you feel like you’ve taken a step forward? If the whole challenge is too big to do in the remaining 9 days, what smaller piece of it could you finish that will make you feel that you’ve done something?
Your pop up challenge is to do it! Do that one bite!
Report back on Monday.
Spreadsheet updated and Sharyn wins the week again. You’re on fire, girl! 😉 Well done on working through your challenge too.
Nice going on the customer service, VT. Glad that worked out as sales for you.
VL, do you do promoted listings? My sales were tanked, seriously close-my-store low. Then I read a couple of posts about PL and added a whopping 1.1% PL to all my new listings. Voila – sales are up! I think that eBay is now in the Pay to Play arena. However, it was tax week last week, so folks are going “I have to pay HOW much?” and their ire at the IRS (aren’t I punny? LOL) has resulted in a no-spending resolution, that will last about two weeks or so.
Home stretch, people. Just over 10 days until the end of the month. Let’s get to work on those Designated Challenges, shall we? We can use this forum to bounce ideas off each other, if you’re stuck on a problem. I posted about needing to store polymailers and there were a bunch of great ideas! Whatever your issue, somebody here is likely to have a solution.
