It now holds decor items in my store. Thanks so much for the idea. Loving it!
I dropped my camera yesterday and broke it… *crying* … so went online and searched for something in my price range (<$100) and ended up with an upgrade of the broken camera. Very excited that it has a 1:1 aspect ratio as I’m hopiing that will do away with any cropping requirements. Can’t wait for it to get here. Interestingly enough: I ended up buying it from an eBay seller in Hawaii! 😀
On the measurements, I only put them in the Item Specifics and any relevant ones in the description. I called in to eBay radio once and said I was getting so many questions about measurements that were already in the description, and Griff said item specifics were the important ones. Lee said it was also important to have a size in the description. So now, for example, I’ll put tag size in the description “Chico’s Women’s Top Sz L” and then actual measurements in inches in Item Specifics.
Nice photos. Do you do any photo editing afterwards, like contrast/color adjustment?
You know how eBay has that slogan “we sell EVERYTHING!”?
Well, this group KNOWS everything! LOL
According to Worthpoint, there have been almost a dozen copies sold in 2017 with an average price range of $10 to $20. In June, this copy sold for the best price of $79.99, but I can’t see why it was considered worth so much more than all the other books. Going back several years, the price has stayed between $10 and $30 for any edition, although there were a bunch of first edition books sold in 2015 for $50 and $75.
Overall, it doesn’t appear that many folks consider the book valuable, with pricing being fairly low. My best advice, follow the J&R way, price high and wait it out.
Happy Thanksgiving all! Wishing you many happy scavenging hours!
I’m still on the Death Pile Challenge, so I’m being careful not to add to it. 🙂
To me it looks like a mill stone, that would be used to grind wheat, for example. I found some similar, not the same, on Alamy. (Photos, not stones.)
On this Wiki page they call it a quern stone.
There are a lot of VSL vases on Worthpoint, but I found few with the S mark.

http://www.glas-musterbuch.de/Val-Saint-Lambert.48.0.htmlBeginning of the year I sorted my Death Piles by category: all bottoms in one box, all men’s shirts in another, women’s tops, etc. The boxes are mostly large, like 30″ square or bigger. There were a few smaller ones. I admit to starting with the smaller boxes. *blush*
Dammit, you’ve been reading my diary again! 😀
Perhaps next year we should challenge each other? Number of listings per week (let’s be honest, there’s no way I’m going to list every day); percentage of Death Pile killed. I think it would be hard to challenge on sales figures, bc we don’t have the same inventory, but perhaps number of items sold? No, that also depends on inventory. Dunno.
We could have the Twin Challenge, and other twins join us and post weekly or monthly. 2018 Twins Challenge! Extra incentive for the year. Losing Twin sends the winner a bunch of flowers or case of wine or gift voucher for eBay supplies or mystery gift or…
I’m down two giant boxes, plus I cleared a stack of packaging material that I decided was just taking up space instead of being useful for packing. I also did a sort through and donated my low-sale items, stuff that would list for less than $10 or where shipping would just not be worth the hassle. I sold some old furniture at our town street sale. The garage is looking pretty good now! Still got about a dozen giant boxes in there, and then the shed. Won’t be done this year. 🙁
However, ChristineR is right that it’s given new perspective. As I’ve been listing and selling, I’ve been paying attention and working out what I’m likely to look for when I start sourcing.
Looking forward to reading other year end check-ins.
Pork bellies, Jay? I had to go and check that out and, yes, they sell pork bellies on eBay!
O.O!!!
I hung mine on the wall and enjoy the art! 🙂
My home is being slowly renovated, but once it’s done, the one side of the hall will be the family gallery and the other the eBay gallery. The eBay side will have a mounting pole from which we can hang pictures without consistently changing hooks/holes on the wall.

28.5″ tall, sold for $45 Dec 2016.These are a sampling of the listings I found on Worthpoint that look similar to the ones you have. I note the base and top of yours is different. Also, these did not mention Paul’s Glass Italy, so that might add value.
However, there was one lonely listing that hit triple digits. However, it’s a monster with a 10.5″ base and rising 3 feet tall, so that might have made a difference.

Apparently he and his family own the Hollyhocks store. There’s some interesting info in the article on how they make their santas, if it helps any.
